A young female kiwi which we watched for about half an hour, on the Real Journeys Kiwi Encounter tour. We waited for it emerging from the bushes for quite a while and were rewarded with superb views as it emerged and walked down onto the beach, probing and hoovering up insects as it went.

We were out at Cape Palliser watching one of the fur seal colonies playing around in the water and on land, a mix of adults and pups. One of the pups decided to come up and check me out before flopping past on its way, doesn't sound like it was too fond of me but maybe fur seals just sound grumpy?

Pretty close (and shaky) view of gannets diving off the island of Noss in Shetland, taken from the ferry from Lerwick to Aberdeen which stops off close to the gannetry on Noss and chucks fish over the side to get them to dive for the amusement of passengers.

An otter popped out of the sea to eat a fish before noticing the obnoxious humans gawping at it and running back into the sea.
