This is a great video. I have an acaica wood patio set (1 large table, 6 chairs - sits under shade with no rain exposure) and it looks terrible due to years of neglect from the home's prior owner. It looks almost like the demo chair in the video. While the set looks terrible, its rock solid. if I were in CA, I would hire you but in FL. Would be be kind to perhaps recommend a few products I can use as a DIYer? Ie the the "brightener", penetrating oil? I seen some videos that with teak oil (sand and apply oil), however, they are not as amazing looking as what you have done here. Thanks in advance.

You're correct, probably Teak. Ipe turns silver when left natural, just like Purple Heart. Ipe has lots of different names depending on where in South America it comes from. Most commonly referred to as Brazilian Walnut. Class A Fire Rated and makes a great deck, but high maintenance.

Good explanation of the process but for us novice DIYers it would be helpful to know what kind of penetrating oil you're using. I've heard boiled linseed oil is good but not sure if that's what you're using. Should one coat be sufficient or multiple?

This is the most matte finish in high quality oil based film forming coatings. You can try and use a water based matte coating but you loose the longevity and maintainability in our opinion. Any finish you apply mulitple coats of will build up a slight sheen. You can see the sheen in this video because we had just finished. Once it receives sun and weather and a layer of natural dust, it will tone down. It will look perfectly matte.

Also would any oil based wood sealer be suitable for the final coat? Thanks for the video it was really useful and has made me really happy that I am the owner of some Jenson Jarrah garden furniture which is looking sad but is still in solid condition despite being over 20 years old.
