Bruce Springsteen Roundhay Park, Leeds 1985
มุมมอง 60K15 ปีที่แล้ว
Local TV report on Bruce's concert at Roundhay Park in Leeds, 7th July 1985. I was way back on The Hill despite having paid "all that money".
The country literally fell in love with Bruce in that year. I've no idea how that album took off but I do remember the singles failing to chart first time around. It's bizarre looking back but I used to go visit my girl in hospital in the summer of 84 and I had this cassette on virtually all the time driving up to North London to see her. The last two tracks on side one were the ones that grabbed me. I think one of the cuts started getting a lot of airplay helped in part by Capital Radio's Roger Scott bless him. Then it just took off and within the next nine months, Bruce fever had arrived.
I was one of them to get in free me and my mates I would of been 12 what a story to tell the grand kids
No need to gatecrash, pole told us gates open at half time, just walk in so we did. It was a great concert.
The BOSS
I was there❤️the boss all my life
I was there it was fabulous 🤩
Was he as big as queen and led zeppelin in the uk??
How many people were over there? That looked like a field that went on forever. Must have been 100K plus people.

Was there with my then pregnant wife,my daughter was born 15th february 1986(so she was 30 yesterday),This was my 1st Bruce gig,i`ve now seen him 30 times, and been on front row for his secret intimate St lukes church, london gig for the BBC.
I was there near the front, blew my mind!!! 4 hours of high energy vibes and one of the best days of my life
I was there at 5 years old with a good view. I still remember it as my first music experience.and a formative day
I was there too
I was 10 in 1985 and my teacher went to see Springsteen here. She told us all about it (even though we didn't know who the hell he was, lol). Ms Bell (from the now-defunct Drummond Middle School in Bradford), if you're reading this, say 'Hi' :)
I was there as well, with Chris, Gary and Maria. Bloody hot as I remember...great gig, of course...
Hey will its joe thanks for lifting me up to bruce it was awesome i will treasure it all the time from your mate joe.
I found my t shirt from this gig the other day which prompted me to look up this video. Brilliant memories of an unforgettable day. He shook my world that day.
I was there, it was an amazing day! The first of many for me in the company of Bruce and the band... 8-)

My Dad was there and said it was amazing!
I was there about 30 yards from the front 4hrs of bliss!!!!!!!!!!
Remember it like it was yesterday, what an amazing time we had.........
cant believe it 28 years later and still rocking in Leeds
A truly memorable show, made special by Bruce involving the audience so much. I was so close there, I hardly looked at the screens. From Sheffield in 1988 thru to Coventry 2013 - 8 concerts by the master leader of the band. His 18th album can't come out quick enough for me!
I was there too, sat in the stands, l will never forget it. I saw him and the band enter the arena. One question Bruce, how in the hell do you it, with such enjoyment on your face. Those people, man hug, the kid singing Waiting for a Sunny Day, the girl that danced with Jake, the lady that danced with Steve and that lady to whom you gave YOUR guitar, and finally that boy, such memories for all those people, thanks Brucexx and thanks for posting
Yeah that was really great for the lad, pleased for you both, it was a great night.
He was AWESOME. He was on my shoulders when Bruce came over and I couldn't believe it when Bruce picked him to come on stage. He'll remember that moment for the rest of his life (hell, I will too!)
This made me smile so much this kids gonna remember this for the rest of his life, my first Springsteen gig but it wont be my last....
I was there & it was nothing short of breathtaking to see the world's greatest performer interact with his audience Paul, Wales

Best performer in the best city, what could be better? Please come back to Leeds in 2013 Bruce.
Been to hundreds of gigs but this was the best by miles.
Was great to find this footage. I still have my ticket and programme up in the attic! Went up by coach from s Wales and had a fantastic day. Actually quite emotional thinking back to those sunny days and wonder where the last 27 years have gone.
£14.50. Bargin!! Still got my ticket!!
My mum wouldnt allow me to go, thanks mum
Our mum doesnt check youtube Robin
Fuck you lot I was there ah ah
Best gig I ever been too - near the front and 3 hours of solid music... He was at his ultimate on that day and 17 years later I still get chills when I remember him singing 'Glory Days'...
@duderino1969 This was my first gig. I was 5 but I remember it. We weren't near the front, but I loved it and couldn't care. Every long hot summer of my life takes me back to this one. Weid watching the video, everything seems so antiquated and colourless, but in my memory its so sharp and gleaming. Must have been the atmosphere.
this was the first gig i ever went to. amazing experience. second gig i went to was the jesus and mary chain, who played for about 15 mins under a hail of plastic pint pots before walking off. both gigs were formative moments in their own way.
brings back memories, i was one of the gatecrashers, never heard of him til that day i drove past, wondered what goin on and bust in, tho i mind it was hells angels doing the security..i remember havin to run to second fence dodging them....bought his albums after this tho.
I was there. Amazing show. Three hours but took longer to get out the car park
Bob Rust, born to run!
RIP Clarence.
This was my first Bruce concert..i cannot wait to see him again. The way up was pretty quick, but after the motorway it was a 2 hour crawl to the park. Then we couldn't find the entrance so missed the very start..but so worth it. we were up on the hill and had a great view.I'd love to have this on dvd.
The corrugated sheets were held on by roofing bolts, there was a guy on the road selling 13mm spanners for a fiver. I'm proud to say I didn't buy one as I brought one from my car toolkit. Security were trying to put the sheets back up but to no avail. There were more than hundreds got in free, probably a couple of thousand. Very memorable, great gig
Best thing since sliced bread, Love it.
I remember this one, I should have been way up on the hill, but the guys trying to check tickets just gave up and let everyone in. We ended up right near the front, brilliant concert. So hot!!
