How To Make Film Music: Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross | Music Production, Sound Design & Composition
In this video, we will be covering musical terms, sound design, and writing techniques that composers utilise in order to create a film score, and how Oscar-winning composers Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross, in particular, went about creating the music for David Fincher’s movies of the past decade. These include The Social Network, The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, and Gone Girl. This video features mini tutorials for experienced musicians and producers, music theory for the passionate listener, and cinematic analysis for the film buff.
Thanks for taking the time to watch. We hope you have been able to learn something from this.

I LOVE this video, I just wish the music wasn't so loud and distracting while you're talking. It's like you're talking about music production and sound design in film and not use the concepts in the video that you're using. I think this would be a better video with sound design (ear candy, risers, impacts) while you're talking in relation to the video. I think it would be better if the sound wasn't super loud while you're speaking.

This is amazing. Immediately I heard Kubricks The Shining when Jack is stuck in a shock state staring out the window. I am pretty I just learned how they accomplished that sound now. Great stuff

dude, can you please tell me what presets you used in the omnisphere? Are these default or made by yourself? They just give me the sound I need.

This is criminally underrated, saving it for future reference. As a beginner to this world, it really makes things a bit easier for me to understand. Thank you so much!

This is incredible stuff man! Please do make more! You've tapped into something special here and it would be amazing to hear you talk a bit more about how composers like Ludwig Gorannson created the propulsive scores for Black Panther and Tenet.
