I have used the Module Revealing pattern as well as other patterns since I started working with ServiceNow. I used to use JavaScript quite heavily so it was part of my nature almost . I have also been called out for using different patterns that even consultants from my own company could not really understand, let alone the admins. I get that point for sure, but I have not stopped using them as I feel like they are really awesome. Nice video , really cool!

Another interesting thing based on Jon's idea for constants is: var Client = Class.create(); Client.prototype = { TYPE_CLIENT: "INTERNAL", initialize: function () { }, type: "Client" }; If you wanted to access the TYPE_CLIENT constant inside your script include you would use "this", but if you wanted to access it outside, for example in a business rule condition, you would have to go through the prototype by writing Client.prototype.TYPE_CLIENT. And you are right, it's all about memory management as these constants are not loaded in when the initialise is called, they are only used when called. I guess we should not be too much worried about memory these days, unless there are hundreds of millions of objects being initialised. LOL

Hey guys, very nice content, I really enjoyed it! The first issue you hit with the undefined is because, inside your private function in the script include you had a gs.print(), but that function is void so there is no return. You were calling from the background script like this: var c = MyScriptInclude(); gs.print(c.privateFunction()); This is executing the gs.print() inside the function in the script include, and the return of the privateFunction is void, meaning undefined. If you had called it like this c.privateFunction() you would have seen the print only from within the function and not twice

Amazing info.. Just what I was looking for. Many Thanks. My question for you guys would be about response handling, whether there are errors or everything goes 201, is there a way snow can return to client with a response other than state codes?
