Hi Craig Thanks for posting the video. I’m running the pilgrims ultra in a few weeks and was wondering how easy it was to navigate the course. I’ve got the gpx downloaded but wasn’t sure if it was worth setting my watch up with it or not? Cheers
Most of the route is pretty easy to follow but there are a few tricky sections near Kirkwhelpington when crossing a few fields if you're not familiar with them.Good luck.
@@craigkilday thanks Craig 👍🏻
Nice! Looks hardcore that mate 😮
It's a great race, you would love it.
Epic video, almost made me sign up for the 55....... almost 🤣
Get in the lad is back (also this was via notification, 17 hours after upload 😂)
Yay!! Back with a shuffle to the finish 😂
Great video. Thanks Craig
Great race as always. Thanks you.
I play for them I see Lee STERRY tonight
Well done both of you.. great video 👍
Love a good Kilday video binge to get me in the mood for another week of training!
Ahaha, nice one Daz. What races have you got coming up?
@@craigkilday back for hopefully a decent effort at the 55 and then the biggy in May 😬
@@daz_on_earth cool I’ll see you at the 110, I’m crewing for the brother
And how your back, spine? I thing thats about tour on Europe, and thing my s1000r and maybe buy xr….
I plan to enter the 50k event this year, would you recommend? Are the checkpoints laden with snacks?
Last year was rerouted due to storm damage. Definitely would recommend it though, and I'm sure the checkpoint was full of snacks.
Awesome mate, maybe see you on 7 Jan, remember to wave as you inevitably pass me 👍
Such a well filmed and edited video. That's another banger.
How has a video that good got only 12 likes? A masterclass in editiing.
Thanks for your comment and thanks for stopping by
Well done Craig... can't ever imagine running 100 miles, you look so fresh through out... you got me on camera at 1:22 Kyloe woods, this was my first 50k
Thanks Ian, well done on your first 50k. I'm hoping to run the 50k next year with my daughter on her first 50k.
Geet mint
About bloody time! Need your jedi editing skillz too!
Ahaha, you made me finish it. I have another vid half edited I need to finish too.
Running this tomorrow. Great video - thank you for making it. I hope to have the same smile as you sometime on Sunday morning.
Good luck and enjoy it, it's a great feeling to cross that finish line.
@@craigkilday I did and it was. 👍
@@johnturgoose4205 Great stuff, well done
Last uploaded video? 😭
I may or may not have a couple to edit 🤔 if I wasn’t so lazy 🙄
Interesting race.
Which wind screen is that
Which windshield is that
Which winddshield?
Not sure, I got it as an extra from the dealer when I bought the bike.
Hi again Craig. I have a question. On the pre-race info, it says you require 'Full WATERPROOF body cover (top & bottoms) with taped seams (windproof is not sufficient)'. Did you get the same info? I don't have any waterproofs and don't want to spend unnecessarily. Also, I want to get lightweight so i can fit it all in my bag as well as it not weigh so much. what did you take with you? many thanks in advance for any help
I can't remember what the kit list was but when I have to carry waterproof trousers I have some really lightweight Inov8 ones.
WOW
Stunning, great work Craig! 👏
Hi mate. Great video. Im doing this in Feb. What would be some top tips for it. Did you find that thermal bottoms were unnecessary for you? many thanks in advance
Don't really have any top tips for you other than just enjoy it. It's a great route and we were lucky to get all the snow on the tops last year. I'm a shorts wearer and find as long as my top half is layered my legs are always fine. Good luck in Feb.
@@craigkilday cheers. Yeah, I noticed that other years, there wasn’t any or much snow at all. Then saw this! Not sure what I’m hoping for. Guess this could be fun!
Amazing video! I ran this race, albeit the baby one (45mile) this year. I made a doc on it, on my channel but the quality is nowhere like yours, this is class! So well filmed and edited! Deffo learned a thing or two. Good job
Thanks man and well done on the 45, 100 next year? It's my favourite race.
@@craigkilday Im not sure if ive got it in the bag at the minute, still suffering with knee injuries from the 45M lol!
🤩🤩🤩
@2:57 almost turned into a different kind of video!
Ahaha yeah, I nearly had to swim to the finish 😬
did this finish at the boatside inn?
Yes, this was the shorter distance. The full finished at Tynemouth.
Is it easy to get lost on this. I have never done a race like this before but want to do it next year but I wonder if you need to be super good at navigating.
Navigation on the tops can be a bit tough if the weather isn’t great and you don’t know the area, a recce always helps.
Hardcore. vid was good as usual.
Thanks Mick, I’ve been in hospital today getting pins fitted in my finger 😬
True Professional keeping on filming 😉
Ahaha, I didn’t even know it was on until I got home 😀
Dive if ever I've seen one bonny lad lol
Ahaha, Neymar Jnr
Well done Craig with the race & filming it, some typical hill weather by the looks of it 👍🏃
It did get a bit wet up there 😀
Teach me your ways!
Have you got a spare five minutes?
@@craigkilday haha shut up man you've got mint editing skillz, I just clob them together and hope for the best
There's way too much of me in this but despite that its a great reminder of a gruelling run. See you (and Glen?) next year!
Definitely, see you next year 😀
awsome
Even got you in the vid 😀
Still gutted I missed this, I can now live vicariously through this vid though so all is not lost 😎
You missed another good one, hot though 🥵
Great video Craig! Don’t you suffer with blisters wetting your shoes like that?
My feet were on fire with the heat and starting to get blisters, the water cooled them down and prevented blisters 😀
@@craigkilday win win! The reason I asked is because my feet were ruined after Wainstones marathon. They’re OK now thankfully!
@@martincantwell4506 I normally wrap rock tape around my feet where I get hot spots but I forgot my tape on Sunday so I went for the water approach 😂
@@craigkilday do you find the rock tape works? Where would I get that from? I recently bought injinji socks but find I still need to smother my feet in sudocrem. After the run though I find it’s worn off and any longer than say 10 mile and I’d likely be in trouble again.
And as in works for LONG distance
Another good one Craig. I even made the directors cut. Shame on your DNF. There is always another day. Well done
Thanks Mick, good to see you again
Silky smooth as usual mate. Love the track . Same singer as that ‘Tiger’ track eh . Looking forward to the 55 . We’re gonna smash it pal . Get your camera set to high speed for that one 💪🏼💪🏼😁😁
Thanks Kev, yeah looking forward to getting the 55 done 😀
Great movie, really shows how warm it was. Good effort mate.
Thanks Mike it was good to see you on the day
More s1000r please Sir. Respect from Australia
