We like the way you are thinking your way through this @hiramhaji7813.. Our best results have been with the copper wire on cane, wood, bamboo, or fiberglass poles. You are correct on the higher the better. The taller the antenna, the greater benefit.

No need to clean. Like any pure copper, they will tarnish but it doesn't affect their performance. We do pull ours out of the ground during fall clean up and store through winter for re-use the next growing season, but mostly because they are hard to see once the copper fades to patina. For the orchard antenna, we place them 2-3' from the base of the tree and for the garden antenna, 2-4" from the base of the plants, all on the south side of the target plants.. Thanks for the great question @EdMerritt-wb3yd.

Yes, I agree if you can find containers and tubs to grow in they work well. Just have to keep them watered and not let them dry out.

I made wicking tubs out of some of mine … they have a 3 “ reservoir that you fill with water… my prime ark freedom black berries are planted in them , a satsuma tree, a key lime tree and a fig tree and I made a big one out of a liquid cattle feeder
