Riverbanks Zoo and Garden Walkthrough
Our first trip to the Riverbanks Zoo and Garden was a great time. Always fun to go to a new place and this stop was no different. Between all of the palm trees and the winding trails (which can be a little confusing), it is certainly a great place to stroll through with the family.

Fort Lauderdale Segway Tour
มุมมอง 2832 ปีที่แล้ว
This is a little off script for this channel, but at the same time it does kinda carry the same energy of the spirit of exploring that we usually roll with. Since I wanted to record some of this segway tour anyway, I figured I would record as if for this channel - and that ended up being a fun way to do it. We did actually come across several animals along the way too, so that was my segway (pu...
Checking out the Greenville Zoo Again
มุมมอง 4932 ปีที่แล้ว
Had the chance to swing by the Greenville Zoo again. They had just reopened after what seems to be their annual "cleaning." It is interesting how quickly you can make it through a small zoo when you've already been there before. It was a fun time nonetheless. #greenvillezoo #escapetothezoo Please Like and Subscribe as that will help us toward our goal of getting monetized to be able to donate t...
Indianapolis Zoo Walkthrough!!!
มุมมอง 7K2 ปีที่แล้ว
So here is the rest of the zoo that we were able to see after finishing our time tracking down all things dolphins! This place is a pretty good size and the more I passed things, the more I noticed the details going into them. The Orangutan building is one of those for sure! The Desert building is heavily themed - if you're into that kind of thing. And we actually didn't even get to catch the w...
Dolphins at the Indianapolis Zoo!!!
มุมมอง 2.2K2 ปีที่แล้ว
So we finally made it to our dolphin stop!!! In case you didn't notice the progression of our trip, it landed us at the Indianapolis Zoo! This place is large enough to compete with any major zoo, but the main focus of our time was to find the dolphins (not that that was a difficult task) once arriving. With 2 shows per day, you could easily make it to both and get a different angle each time. I...

Thanks for posting this. I go to Berlin, Walnut Creek, and Sugarcreek at least twice a year and have never been to the Farm. Next trip I will will go to the Farm.
I've been to the Detroit Zoo many times and have to tell you: I love visiting there and other zoos that I've been to or never been to before.
Even though I’ve been to zoos all my life I still love watching your videos anytime I’m planning a trip with my toddler. Currently planning our coverage zoo trip before baby #2 comes
Glad to hear it! That's great!
Is it weird watching a video and saying. Oh, that’s my brother lol. 😂 glad to see Dakota was interested and had fun! (The account name would be Isaiah Steinert if I wasn’t commenting from my main TH-cam channel account…) I’m very glad you enjoy South Carolina, well always miss you up here in Ohio. 😊
I imagine that can be kinda weird 😁. It helps add some perspective though to realize that everyone you see on TH-cam is just normal people. 🙂 Thanks man!
my girlfriend lives in indiana and she’s taking me here when i fly in for the weekend next week! decided to look up a “zoo walkthrough” to know what to expect and this zoo looks like so much fun! thanks for the video ☺️
Glad to hear it. Hope it didn't have too many spoilers 😁😉. Did it work out for you to drop in yourself?
@@escapetothezoo it was great! so beautiful all lit up for the holidays :) we loved the dolphins!!!
Ooh, lit up. That would be cool! And yeah, the dolphins are awesome!
Why doesn’t the big horse have his teeth 😢😢
I'm not sure why his front top teeth were gone, but he seemed to have all the rest. Maybe his age? 🤷♂️
You should see the wolves next time and should go on the train
Certainly not against that. We did go by the wolves, but they were too far back for us to really get much of a look - maybe next time indeed.
Also there where tons of prairie dogs when I was there about 4-5 yrs ago they recently took it all out and closed the exhibit :( it was so cool to stick your head up there and feel like your inside lol but things change and animals come and go at zoos.
Yeah, very true
bro that is sad :(
Noooo the penguins are arguably the best part.. but there’s still plenty of amazing animals to see at the Detroit zoo! It’s my home zoo haha
No kidding? Oh well, I guess that gives us a good reason to double back someday 😁😁
Yes definitely it’s the biggest penguin exhibit in the world. It’s very cool to experience. And there soooo many penguins so you’ll see a lot of activity from them all!
Wow. I'm glad I didn't know that when we went or that would have been even more disappointing! 🙃
@@escapetothezoo yeah true 😂
@@escapetothezooI’m still watching the video but it’s been great! Keep up the good work.
I saw simplex truealerts there! 1. Truealert ES 2. 4906-9131 3. Classic white
I visited for the first time too for 2 years ago
Oh yeah? That's cool!
They have totally changed that zoo in recent years it is mind-blowing, When I lived in Charlotte that was one of my favorite zoos but I haven't been there since like 2008. I remember when I was a kid that used to have Polar Bears where the Grizzly Bears are and in the back exhibits Beside the Lions and the Tigers they used to have a Spectacled Bear which I have never seen at any other zoo. I don't know if they still have them but they also used to have Ibexes and Hamadrayas Baboons over there. They also used to have a Hippopotamus where the Malayan Tapirs are now and where the Babirusas are now they used to have Warthogs.
Wow, that is quite a change. Cool to hear!
Greetings from London!
Will you ever restart back the channel.
Hey man! Yeah, I hope to always be putting up stuff from visits we make to zoos, we just haven't been able to get to many of late with my schedule, and our closest zoo now that we've moved is the Greenville Zoo, which is . . . Rather underwhelming. I actually have a couple videos to put up once I get around to editing, and hopefully we'll be able to make some more stops this summer 🙂
@@escapetothezoo Great!!
Those lizards are common wall lizards
I'm going for my first time next month. I have a trip planned to it. I'm excited.
Oh that'll be cool! Nothing like going in person 😁
Love our zoo, and the tunnel was opened back up after being closed for years. It was more fun when you were a kid in the eighties.
You should come back the polar bears just had male cubs, the brown bears have a new 14,000 sq foot home.
Noted 🙂
@@escapetothezoo if you come back I suggest you eat at the cafe. When I was a kid in the eighties it was the cat house.
They removed the glass for the lions it's just a big drop like the tigers kinda sketchy if they really wanted they could jump over
Oh really? So you mean just recently? That's kinda cool! I can also see what you mean about the jump though. Surely it's too much for them ??? 🙃
Just curious, what kinds of things do you not agree with scientifically here?
I suppose I did kind of leave that open ended, huh?😁😁 While there are probably other areas that I don't recall all the details of while being there, my main disagreements would have to do with the evolutionary biology and the age of the universe. I believe God created the world and while many studies have led some to believe the need for millions of years, there are other studies that explain why that amount of time isn't necessary. At the end of the day, both sides have to trust in a constant that predates our ability to study with observable science.
This was my question as well. You beat me to it!
5:32 Michael was calling everyone for Adventure Hour (you pay $10 to go into the breeding marsh to feed all the big gators). The alligators can recognize and differentiate between people, so they know Michael's voice and go running (or swimming? ha). They respond similarly to other park employees, such as Savannah or Danny as well.
They do indeed seem to respond to his voice 😁🤣
I worked at Riverbanks for a year the bear you saw was Butch the male lion is Zuri and the alligators name is Little Boy the Rhinos are Whiney Kandi and Bruce I just switched and now I work for the Columbus Zoo I’m glad you enjoyed your time at Riverbanks
Columbus Zoo? That's cool! That used to be our home zoo before we moved. How is it there?
@@escapetothezoo Amazing I grew up in Ohio so it has always been my home zoo moved to SC for a year and went to Riverbanks when I moved back to Ohio it was a no brainer to work at the Columbus Zoo
I'd say it would be 😅. That's great. Hoping to drop in next time we come up
How old is Little Boy? unless he's a replacement i think he's lived there in the pond by the restaurant for many many years. i dont think he was much smaller when i was a kid 25 years ago when the restaurant was a burger king
Ugh I hate those digital maps.
They have their benefits, but for the most part just annoying 🥴🤣🤣
@@escapetothezoo ya
Hi I go to your old church we miss you a lot
As we miss you! Hoping to have a video of a certain backyard "activity" to send to you soon 😁
OK this is a little hard for you to believe but I’m the reason so at my grandpa’s there is a whole bunch of lizards in Kentucky I bought a few with me and then they escaped in Ohio so these lizards have been making babies so they are all over the place in Ohio but just to tell you I’m the reason why
Oh wow, that is hilarious 😂. I had just never seen any that far north. And then I found out they have some up in Michigan 🤷♂️🤯😁
I saw you in another video and you said you released them on purpose. And you’re not the reason. Wall lizards are in Ohio because someone went on vacation to Italy me bought some of the lizards there to his home in Cincinnati, then released them. So that’s why wall lizards live in and around Cincinnati
Nice! I got in for free once, and that was the only time I been there too
Wow, for free - that's cool.
I enjoyed watching your video ,I like the kids too especially the little one ,May God bless you all .Thank you for sharing this .
That looks like it would be a ton of fun, and a great way to see the city.
Yeah it really is. Interested in trying it out at some other places
used to ride my bike here as a little kid especially when it snowed just like Rocky. there was an arcade called Alligator Ally across the street. thanks for the video.
Oh wow, that's cool! I imagine they got their share of snow up there 😁
@@escapetothezoo The fountain you showed is all I remember. I'm in Dallas now and the zoo here is pretty cool
Oh yeah, that fountain is pretty iconic. I've heard they've got some pretty cool zoos over there.
What did the channel go?😔
That's funny you would ask. I actually have a couple of videos I am about to put up. Haven't had the ability to visit places as frequently anymore, but still planning to put stuff up as we drop into places 🙂
Omg, I remember me and my family went there 10 years ago when I was 7, now I'm living in Nyc. You know the place where the monkeys were with all of that water, thats where the polar bear used to be, I can't believe it still. Its been so long, I haven't been in Indianapolis for years!
No kidding? That is an interesting change for sure.
@@escapetothezoo right?
Wow! Beautiful scenery
You're not kidding! It's definitely in the middle of nowhere 😁😁
Had a great time yesterday with my grandkids at the farm. I highly recommend the wagon ride over driving tru tour. Great place for any age.
Yes, the wagon ride is awesome! Definitely better for those big animals 😁😁
Just took my grandkids to the farm yesterday. We did the wagon ride great choice. Much better than driving through it. I highly recommend this place to anyone of any age.
Would be interested in doing the drive thru portion from a truck bed 🙂. It is great for all ages though!
I loved this! I did a video from my clips of my three safaris. Alas we didn’t see the camels, loved your shots. We stayed at the outpost one night and the cabins the other. What a great time!
Thanks! I'm sure that was a great time - that would be pretty cool! Would love to try those out some day!
You need to do a walk through at South Bend Potawatomi zoo! It's amazing small but great stuff.
Would love to someday. If I'm passing through and have the time, you better believe I will 😁😁
Yeh! The zoo looks good and the animals have plenty room to roam outside!! Yeh they have some freedom.
Didn't see the dolphins
Sorry, I saved all of that for one video 😁 th-cam.com/video/-NAutB7RWHw/w-d-xo.html
Nice video. My gf and I are going for the first time tomorrow morning. When did you go? Doesn't look busy when you were there.
Cool! Yeah, we were there in late September during the week, so weather and school having started did make for lower crowds 😁
It’s a bummer you couldn’t experience the Penguin exhibit, it’s truly an awesome exhibit
No kidding? Oh well 🙃
My childhood
No kidding? Have they added a lot over the years or have they always had this range of stuff?
Those animals look absolutely bored and un-stimulated. Don’t have a zoo if you’re not going to allocate the necessary space for those animals to roam properly. That’s absolutely ghastly the conditions they’re in. In the wild they find natural ways to stimulate their curiosity. That’s impossible in a small confine!
I live near this zoo and been to it multiple times, and I totally agree, the zoo has very little space, and very unnatural looking habitats, every time I go the animals always look so depressed and not very active. I even went to a summer behind the scenes camp, and they really didn't do much as far as enrichment. It's sad honestly.
@@johnnyreb5345 I’ve lived in Greenville for nearly twenty years and I never bothered visiting the zoo. I generally hate the idea of zoos. Although I understand that sometimes they’re necessary for conservation. I got curious at some point because all I’ve ever seen of Greenville Zoo are pictures and the exhibits always seemed awfully small to me, even when they try tricking the audience with a wide angle lens. I was going to visit to see for myself. But after watching this video, the only thing I’ll be doing is calling the mayor’s office or whomever is willing to listen. Either invest in expansion or transfer the animals to a better equipped zoo. This is ridiculous. Day in day out, these animals are living in perpetual boredom and constriction! How can people not see it?! Lions have on average less than 18k miles in a zoo than they would in the wild. Although no zoo can obviously match that, Greenville’s zoo is not big enough for even a decent baseline!
DAKOTA!! That’s awesome that he came. Excellent crossover episode 🔥
That was pretty cool, huh! Sometimes you gotta pull out the stars 😁😁😉
? ???????
2:17 is not a wildebeest
Right? 🤣🤣 I hate to be that guy, but . . . We all make mistakes 😁
Those Orangutans have longer hair than me! 🦧
No joke 🤣🤣
Orangutans are so cool!
They're something for sure!
