My name is Justin Eye... I'm a master mechanic for the last 17 years. However, that's least of the things I would say about myself... more importantly I'm a fabricator, welder, auto-body, painter, motorcycle rider, camper...etc. This channel will give you an inside look at the jobs I perform, how-to videos, camper remodels, drag car building, garden equipment, snow plow equipment.

Stop wasting time drilling spot welds. Watch this video to see how to get this done at home with basic tools.

I am impressed by your your wifes support. its Amazing to have someone in your corner thats your biggest fan ! great build ! im going to go to school on your build, thank you
Right on
How did you measure the hydraulics to make sure they work?
You did a bad ass job buddy
Gettin ready to build one for my 1981 216, got some good tips and ideas from you thanks!!
Glad I could help
Awesome. I have a 216 I welded up a bucket to make one of these a few years ago and never finished, thanks for sharing your design and giving me inspiration to Finnish this project !!
I hope you are still enjoying the loader a year later. I am curious though if you wish you had foot controls to drive the tractor or is this manageable using the hydrostatic speed lever plus the two levers for the loader and then the steering wheel? Also, I am curious if you think you could have made this taller uprights and then shorter pieces going forward so that your bucket could be closer to the front of the tractor? I would need to change the way the cylinders mount but my goal is to get it back for space savings as well as to help manage the load not that yours looks like it’s struggling at all! I wanted to build mine last summer but never happened so relooking at options and your setup is ideal for the smaller machines like your 314 and I have a 314 and closed frame 316 so I’m building for virtually the same machine.
What you use for hydraulic and control.
Я тоже так сделал👍😊 но ещё и трактор собрал сам😊
You are using a level when the tractor is setting in a unlevel surface, if you ever do it again I would suggest to level up the tractor frame. Still looks good though.
What kind of back tires. Do u have on it. Do u have to. Chance the. Wheels. This is tim from Ohio. Keep the video coming.
That. Is what I am trying to. Do.
How heard was it to put hydride line. On. It.
Did u have to change the tires size at all
Could have used electric actuators instead of hydraulic. Would have saved that’s $300 for lines and fittings.
Way too slow and the worm gears strip out. They lift ok but strip lowering any kind of weight. Plus JD 300 series have hydraulics already on board and that looks like what ges using.
music music music???? what gives???
Iv got to get something like this for my old speedex the hydraulics are too far gone do you have a Amazon link for this
Just out of curiosity how close are you to Wythe co Virginia??
Hi Justin. Is it ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY to plumb in an "on/off" switch/valve for the rock cylinder..? Thank you for your video.
OH YEAH......how far from the bottom of the bucket did you put the bracket for the center/curl cylinder..? Being the cylinder is at the certain length anyway, it will probably only have so much relief, but I was curious where the center of the cylinder pin is from the bottom of the bucket. Thanks.
Could you possibly measure the length of your hoses to each cylinder..? It looks like yours are the perfect length, and I'd like to get the lengths right the first time. Thank you.
And just a tip.......when I am working on this thing, I put it up on cinder blocks. It raised it up another 7-8 inches, and was much easier to work on. The tractor won't move forward or back when not running.
When I mounted the H2 hydraulic control box underneath, I used the original hole on the top, but drilled a new one at the bottom. This put the box at a 45 degree angle underneath, and lined up PERFECTLY with the hydraulic lines from the transmission. I didn't even have to tweak anything. They just connected up straight away.
As far as the snap rings around the hydraulic connections up front.......I had to use the 90 degree snap ring pliers. It was a little bit of a pain, but I got them eventually.
Surplus center has the best deal i have found on hydraulic parts
Great team work y’all. Thanks for sharing and inspiring.
Thanks for watching!
Do you actually have a diagram for this loader build?
Sorry I do not. Thank you for watching
You used the term "shimmed the relief valve to give it more pressure". How do you "shim" it..? Thanks for the video. I'm currently building this unit for my 314.
I would love to see that build ,just give yourself more curl on the bucket than I did. Online shims are available for the main relief valve. Just be careful to not go too much .
Thanks for watching
@@Deadmoneygarage I did put the back of the bucket 4" forward at the top, just like you suggested. It's turning out really nice. Thank you for your videos, as other than putting the bucket width at 40", I followed your build exactly. I'm just getting the brackets for the cylinders welded on soon, mounting them, and she should be ready for paint. I'm anxious..!
What is the thickness of the steel on the bucket...? 1/4"..? or 3/16"
I’ll get some measurements for you
Thanks, I enjoyed watching it. I have a 318 that friends think should be replaced as I am always working on it but they just do not understand.
😂 I tell everyone legends never die. But do require maintenance. Thanks for watching
I've had those linear actuators on my snow blower attatchment they all ways froze up on me the electric moter filled with watter and ruined the motor I see they might work in your setting but not sure
You are correct it did not work out. I ended up just putting a three point hitch I found off Amazon.thanks for watching
As a man about your age I always say the same thing to young kids who get discouraged. Someone once told me the moment you can't do something is the moment you tell yourself that. You can do anything you put your mind too
Absolutely right ! Thank you for watching.
Nice build. I would like to build a loader for my JD 322. can you supply the measurements for the lift arms? What size hydralic cylinders did you use and how long? Thanks
The cost video has a lot of the measurements you’re looking for. Check it out if you need more just leave a comment. Thank you for watching .
@@Deadmoneygarage 👍🏻
pf engineering has prints and will walk you through the build. He also saved me $260.00 on the cylinders at surplus center. You will get prints and instructions on how to build and he will answer any questions you have. The prints are on sale now.@@robertschleyer6781
He will also supply you with parts list and places to buy.
Do you have any videos of your tractor plowing using the actuator? It would be nice to see one and see how it works.
The only footage I have of that is at the end of this video. I have now put a category 0 3 point hitch system on it
Awesome video, I have a John deer 212 with the same 3-point hitch. I already have the actuator but was looking for a video on how to make it work. Thanks for a good idea. 👍
Glad I could help
He probably felt like a kid riding around in that cool toy 😎. Much props to you bud and your build. Learned a thing or too from you.
I did feel like a kid when it was done. Thank you for watching
Cost of being a bad-a**.......priceless
Thank you for watching
Awesome job you build the same as me do it as you go, great build and great video too
Thank you!
Thank you for the beautiful sunset scenery 🙂
Good job on the loader
Our pleasure!
Can you provide link to bucket teeth?
I made the tooth bar if I was going to buy one it would be the piranha tooth bar. I think they will custom make them to your application.
@@Deadmoneygarage Already thinking of making piranha bar but wanted to try using bucket teeth with it. Couldn't find them at my local tractor supply or their website, even tried agrisupply.
@@Deadmoneygarage what did you call those teeth? Bead breakers? I’d like to find those.
OUTSTANDING ...!!! ,,gonna build one similar for my 1974 sears suburban ..!!
Just be careful it does not like weight hanging on it and the bouncing around the yard. I found out the hard way it’s strips to gear in the linear actuator.
Did you use the on board hydraulics or did you add an additional pump? Thanks and great job on the build.
I used the on board hydraulics . Just shimmed the relief valve to give it a little more pressure. Thanks for watching.
Where did you get another tractor for the parts you needed I need a grill for a 330 by the way great job
I just continuantly check Amazon and eBay for parts. Thanks for watching.
Where can I purchase an accuator like your s? I'm inspired to build one!I built mine it's manual but dirt is heavy
I got them off of Amazon. Thanks for watching.
Very nice👍
Thank you.
I like the front tires you have on the 314 what size are they and what size is the wheel ? Love the videos.
I used 4.00-8 deestone tri-rib. Thanks for watching.
Great build. I would like to see the specs of the hydraulics. Thanks.
Specs on the cylinders are the actual hydraulics
Did you modify your rear deck?
Just added Square tubing to the sleeve hitch assembly
looks like either cut into the rear deck, or, the assembly would be extremely long to clear the sheet metal ..
Nice job on the J D loader.
Thank you
Love it! I have a 314 too.
They are great machines
I've watched all of the loader videos. I'm very impressed with your work. Like I said on your 1st video, I have a buford bucket built by hosier Pete out of Kentucky. I love my loader too. Thanks again.
Thank you for watching. Love the looks of the Buford buckets
