<3 happy new year!
Still a very stupid stunt
it is not a stunt. This technique is often used by professional handlers to keep sharks calm during interactions and even when removing hooks. It is not like random people are doing it.
Shark handlers rub a tiger shark's nose because it helps calm and control the shark by inducing a state known as tonic immobility. This is a natural state of temporary, reflexive immobility that some sharks, including tiger sharks, enter when their snout is gently stimulated. The shark's nose contains sensitive sensory organs called ampullae of Lorenzini, which detect electrical fields in the water. By rubbing these areas, the handler overstimulates the sensory receptors, causing the shark to relax and become more docile. This technique is often used by handlers and researchers to keep sharks calm during interactions, whether for educational demonstrations, tagging, or when removing hooks. It allows them to work with the shark in a controlled and safe manner without causing harm to the animal.
So cuteee. How long did it take you to get it?
thank you :) I was not the one who was trying to remove the hook. I was filming the video.
@ ah, alr. you recorded a very good deed so I thank you both.

Nurse Shark, usually non aggressive.
yes but this is not a nurse shark but a tiger shark :)

Lekker muziekje 👌
Bedankt :)
So your saying because you can mount TWO tanks on the side versus only ONE on the back you can stay down twice as long? Well yeah, duh! You have double the air capacity. So what if you mount the two tanks on the back in a twin setup. Exact same amount of air available. We used to do twin tank setups in the past (in the dark old days). Or if I wanted to I could use HP tanks of larger size to get more air capacity. All-in-all it depends on how well the person uses that air supply. This relates to physical shape, lung capacity, effort level during the dive, and finally depth of the dive. When I was teaching (and in really good shape) I could dive with a steel 72 and outlast someone with an aluminum 80 because I was a more efficient breather. If I switched over to a steel 90 or HP 100 I could stay down longer than someone with the same setup but not as efficient a breather.
