Throwing Small Swimbaits for a 25lb Clear Lake Limit
มุมมอง 3.6K27 วันที่ผ่านมา
After several tough days of struggling to catch keepers, I manage to put together a decent winter time limit on the G-Ratt Thin Swim.
Livescoping Small Spots and Largies
มุมมอง 160หลายเดือนก่อน
Nothing special today, the lake was crowded and the pressure killed the swimbait bite. I settled for a bunch of fish on the senko, keitech, and jerkbait.
5 Fish Limit on Giant Swimbaits!
มุมมอง 1.3Kหลายเดือนก่อน
The trout are flowing so I left Clear Lake to chase some Central California trout eaters. A hero or zero day, I didn't throw a bait under 10". The goal was a DD, but we settled for a solid limit!
25lb Limit of Clear Lake Bass
มุมมอง 2.3K2 หลายเดือนก่อน
A straightforward day of throwing jigs at 4-6lb Clear Lake bass as they start to feed up for the Fall transition.
Nice video! The bite is fun out there right now. 🤘
@@chrisnelsonfishing For sure!
nice vid brotha!🔥🔥🔥 Hoping to head up that way a few times this year. I fish and make vids of all on all my local lakes here on the central coast, Lake Lopez , Lake Nacimiento, and my favorite Santa Margarita Lake.
@@BigBellyBassinThanks! Naci is a really cool looking lake, but Clear Lake will be a nice change for you 😁
@@chadsweitzerfishing yessir! Santa Margarita fishes similar but a lot smaller sized lake but it holds some giant fish in it.
Nice, just went up there propably caught 110 fish all under 1 pound in those three days I managed to squeeze one 3.3 lber😂
It’s usually not the case with Clearlake but might be a good sign for the future🤟
@@Bassfishertv I believe it! Those larger fish can be tough to locate and fool. Sometimes it’s fun to just run the numbers game!
@ yeah I definitely had fun still, not often I get 30 fish days at clearlake
Nice catches! What rod do you like throwing the thin swim or executioner on?
@@maxhudock9798 My favorite rod for this technique currently is a 7’6” medium heavy Daiwa Steez, but I also threw a 7’6” G Loomis IMX in this video.
Chad, what size weight and type of jig head are you using?
Just a plain 3/0 1/4oz Owner ball head
My go pro messes up too sometimes if it gets too hot, I’ll take the battery out and pop it back in and she’ll usually fire back up. If not dip it in the water with battery door closed (of course) to cool it
Exactly! I left the battery in while having it plugged in.
Is it safe to say that this is only achieved through your electronics?
No, all I was doing this trip was slow rolling the swimbait 1ft off the bottom, I wasn’t casting to fish I saw on the scope. Electronics helped me keep the bait in the strike zone but that can be achieved through other means like a drop shot or a weedless rig
Not true, I’ve studied the lake on topography maps of the underwater structure to get an idea and I go to Clearlake on my cheapo Walmart fishing kayak with no electronics and wack em. Biggest one out of there was a 7 on a football jig. Just gotta poke around and look at maps people caught fish like that for decades
Nice video - I subbed. Good content.
Big bag alert!!!
what jig head were you using?
1/4 oz Owner ball head, unpainted
Do you have any videos of catching trout while bass fishing
Not yet, might run into a few at Shasta later this month though!
Good job Chad.😎👍🏻👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻. Are you guide fishing on Clear Lake? I need to get out there asap!!
Not currently guiding, there are many guides out there that stay on the fish better than me! John Pearl, Paul Bailey, and Zach Ploeger are all great guides!
Damn fine day out there. Nice Job - just subbed!
Hands down one of the best fisherman on the lake!!
Yea chad
👍👍👍
Only took 12hrs for TH-cam to let me watch this😊
@@Bigshastaa1 Frustrating!
With the soft bait do you crack em on the first bump or do you really wait for them to bomb on it?
@@Riley201dc With spotted bass I tend to swing right away, if I’m fishing clear lake or a largemouth dominated lake I’ll let them eat it a little longer
@ appreciate it I’ll give that a try
@@Riley201dc Good luck!
Nice!!! How do you rig your Hudd, I see a nose treble?
@@DDbassin Yes, Google Butch Brown rig and you’ll be set!
Better double back and shake minnow on em lol
@@fishwithjeff805 100%
Will you ever eat a Clear Lake fishy?
If I ever aquire a taste for algae and pond scum I'll probably try one🤣 We'll try a shasta fish next time
Great Video Chad! Cool to see you on youtube, I thought you had moved to hawaii?
right on. i rarely get them on the backside of that island with the volcanic spring. guess the water is up high enough.
Great video nice job out there
Had me at jig
Yessir!
Niceee, I gotta get out there on the boat!
Yes soon!
Yea Chad
Great video Chad, nothing beats the jig bite here 🔥
Thanks man! 100% correct!
