Ford Galaxy 2 hour mega valet For the eagle eyed viewers, I realised when I was packing away, I used the wrong meguiars product. It achieved the right result none the less I hope you enjoy this one - it was a bit of a rush/challenge but thoroughly rewarding. Few bits could of been better. I’ve had this kit for a while now and just not got round to trying it and making a video on it. I had tested it on my headlights so new how it worked, that was all. Anyway, this is my first go. Really pleased with the results. I’m sure there’s things I could do better. Please feel free to drop suggestions in to the comments. Next video I’ll do the roof bars/supports, and then finally I’ll make ...

That is so awesome. Loads of stuff to keep us updated on. If i had 4k id probably go find a Mini, stick on some nice tyres and rag it to bits. Or a focus. Happy hunting. Keep running
Thanks mate. Much appreciated. Yes. Lots to cover in the coming months (as and when the work gets done). As for temporary runner. It’s not going to be anything too exciting (just to manage expectations), frugality is going to be the key driver with only a mild splash of fun factor. All will be revealed once I grab something. I’ve got 2 weeks to find something. Thanks re the running. Have a great week.
I feel the exact same way! There’s not another car on the market today that gets me going like the FSTI….. It’s hard to explain, you kind of wear it as opposed to just driving it….its like you become part of it!
Love using beadmaker at the mo on fozzy gyeon wet coat on on bm
My foz mot next month pre mot hopefully pass straight away as she gets well looked after 😎 love the foz content 👍
Exciting times! I’m here for the Foz content as I’m constantly fettling with mine. They aren’t going to make any more of them so best to spoil and enjoy them!
Hello. Thanks for watching and taking the time comment. That’s a very good point. I’d omitted to consider that angle. She certainly gets spoiled. Thanks again. Take care.
Somehow i missed this. All the dilution ratios neatly written out. Cheers.
I dunno about neat 😂. But I 100% did meticulous planning for the day. Pipette saved the day that day.
@@rev-you1975 I got a set of metal tala measuring spoons off Amazon for £4. Superb when you need tiny specific quantities of something. And yes, the planning definitely came across well
Well done. 5k/day is definitely achievable. How can we donate, once you succeed 😜
Thank you. Yes. Totally do able. I’ll crack through this no drama. I’ll email you.
Nice. Wait till you see that happen with a windscreen coating hint hint
I did consider windscreen coatings. I spoke to a mate about it. And his feedback suggested he’d tried the top 5 big players and all of them introduced wiper squeal. So I’m a bit reluctant if I’m honest. Will continue with the cleaning power of traceless (thank you for introducing me to that), and (controversially) tipping off with wet coat (it works good for me).
@@rev-you1975 you have Bathe+. Jon (forensic) suggests using double the concentration. There's a test for you right there
Plenty of beading so all's good 👍
Nice beading dude, but the better product have the roundest bead, e.g. contact angle, back spoiler looks good.
Maybe best to run Cataclean cleaner for a tank then start using eco max , great results
Thanks. I’ll look that up.
That is super cool. You'll have to go in to detail as to whats being done. Any welding? Will the body shop be fitting your new parts or will you? Will they paint them or will you polish them before or after (practice with your new tool)? And engine bay work, etc etc etc. when's it booked in and how long for? What will be your daily driver?
@@pigeonpoo1823 Great questions. I was going to ask you for some suggestions on what video to do next. I think you’ve answered my question 😂. Coming soon……
Well done. Turned out really nice. Keep saying, and i will one day, i need to get Perl, and Autowheel. And yeah, when it comes to products, its good to see where their limits lie. Seems TL is very very good. Cheers for the entertainment
@@pigeonpoo1823 I really enjoyed it. Amazing to see how good the chemicals do on a properly dirty car. It was fascinating. Glad you enjoyed it.
@@rev-you1975 I'd be fascinated to see how GT Decon compares to TL. Again, it's a test best reserved for very dirty cars! Good to see a big bottle of TL. Do you have a preference of TL or Autofoam?
Really interesting. Not only do RW's work well as qd's, but great as cheap drying aids, and Ech2o is my favourite at 16:1. Glossy and slick. isn't BSD more of an LSP than a qd? What did you dilute it to? Seemed to work well enough so I may have to try that. Best of luck with the running.
Thank you. The bsd was 50/50. I’d done a few hours research prior to shooting. Was a bit of a logistical nightmare so I apologise if there’s any errors. Ech2o, onr and P&S were all at 16:1 for fairness to one another if that makes sense. All performed great at that ratio. In a nutshell. The key findings are. They’re all fine in direct sunshine on a really hot car with no effect on performance. RW’s are simply much more economical and achieve a great result. Thanks re the running. Bit achey today. Sure that’ll only get worse. 9.6 miles in 2 days. So banked a few extra miles already. Thanks for watching as always. Take care.
My mum's car has bsd on it, so I'll try what you've done. Good idea, thanks
nice shine
U got to get the power washer out so just as well use a foam lanse cant see the point in these sprayers
@@darrenrodd. Hello. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. It was just a test to see if was possible in principle. In everyday use for me personally. I use the foamer for wheels and localised areas. But was interesting to test none the less. All the best.
SG Foresters are my favorite car, I have 2 but I live in America so they are only XT'S. Definitely jealous of the Sti
Hi dude, yep I was the one screaming at camera, but as a first attempt you did okay. Couple of tips hand speed was too fast, go slow let the pad rotate and do the work, second little bit too much polish, which will let the pad ride on the polish and not be as effective. Not trying to be smart dude I started with a Halfords £85 DA, now like 5 Rupes polishers 2 Flex and a couple of micro polishers, we all start somewhere. On Subaru paint, its okay but the heavy UV in Japan kills clear coat sooo fast, that's why Soft 99 is a great wax, Fusso coat first generation is the best. Last if you want a Ytube channel which is honest and spot on for detailing car Forensic Detailing👍
@@geninx47 Thanks mate. All very much appreciated. I could see on the video when I reviewed it I was rushing. Thanks for the tips. I’ll take those on board for the next part. Great tip re too much polish. And yes. Forensic detailing is excellent. John does great work. I’ll review and improve. All the best.
Looks a decent wee starter kit from Auto Finesse, car looks incredible I can’t wait to see it repainted, polishing wise it was a good first go, I can only reiterate others saying to go a little slower around an inch a second, I’ve just done a polishing for beginners video if you like that sort of content 😊
@GMDetails Hello. Yes. The kit is perfectly adequate for a beginner like me. I will indeed check out your video. Well in advance of my 2nd go this coming weekend. Thanks for watching and providing valuable insight. All the best.
Well done. I bet you're now wishing you'd done this years ago. Be good to see the bonnet get some attention
@@pigeonpoo1823 Thank you. Yes. Totally. Really fancy doing the whole car. It’s really addictive. But one step at a time. Hope you enjoyed that one. All the best.
Very impressive. Nice one
Ahhh the transition from valeter to detailer begins with a polisher. Looking forward to learning something new
@@pigeonpoo1823 Don’t hold your breath 😂. I’ll do my best. I suspect the paint on the spoiler is kerput already so not expecting to get much out of polishing it. But we shall see.
@@pigeonpoo1823 I take it all back. It’s going great. Really pleased with the results this far. Can’t wait to get the video up. Just finishing up.
I have just gone from using a bmw x3 for work to a sg9 its smaller so cant get as much stuff in but its a pleasure to drive compared to the x3.
Great video and really easy to follow!
@@thenosamp Thank you. Really appreciate it. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. All the best.
Top video there. You're spot on that minimal kit can be more than adequate. If the Forrester is going for a full respray, would now be the perfect time to practice machine polishing? I mean, what harm are you gonna do to paint and lacquer that won't exist in a few months time?
You are absolutely right. Car goes in paint shop at end of September. I’ll do my utmost to do a polishing video before then. As my std mantra is no dry runs, my first time is audiences first time etc, I may end up doing it in a few parts. Learning along the way. But defo have opportunity to start on the spoiler (paint already dead), then roof bar mounts (also dead), then once I’ve practised a bit, I’ll get in to the classic, bonnet.
@@rev-you1975 that has the potential to be very entertaining. A window of opportunity to be exploited
Good luck with the running challenge - what are your thoughts on using an ONR type product in a snow cannon as the final part of a wash cycle or is this a silly idea - I would be interested to know
@@nigeltimms3582 Hello. Thanks re the running. I’m not sure re rinseless through a canon. I’ll get back to you on that (once I’ve found out).
Good luck with running. Keep us updated. All seem quite effective, but out of those I prefer ech2o because it's super slick and makes for a wonderfully glossy drying aid. I've seen people use an RW as the rinse bucket because they remove dirt from a wash mitt more effectively than plain water. Definitely something to try
@@pigeonpoo1823 Will do re the running. And great tip re the rinse bucket. I’ll try that. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. I’ll ping your bottles back soon. All the best.
Nice video and comparison have you try the echo as a waterless wash?
@@Dias-v Thanks mate. Appreciate it. I haven’t. This was my first trial of echo. Is it good as a waterless? If so I’ll give it a whirl. Thanks for watching as always. All the best.
U use the echo in 256-1 ?
@@Dias-v 200-1 for ech20. 256-1 for onr and p&s
Definitely want to see more of this little beauty. Most times, what works for a car works for a bike and vice versa. I often use a snowfoam in the ik foamer to cover the bikes.
Oh there’s loads of bikes. Been my passion since circa 1984
@@rev-you1975 something to talk about (your passion I mean) whilst you're detailing it / them.
@@pigeonpoo1823I do have a Chrome GT Dyno that needs the chrome restoring. I have been contemplating making a video of that once I get round to it. Citric acid wash and full polish.
Nice one. I've found that all Rinseless products perform well as a drying aid, but ech2o is my favourite (15:1). Highly highly recommend
Excellent. Not tried onr yet, but I will one day
If you already have P&S or Carpro. There’s no need. They’re all so similar. P&S smells best. All clean apprx the same. Hard to separate them really.
Cool. Looking forward to seeing 'minimal'
Thanks. Yes. It was just a quick run through to keep kit to the absolute bare minimum. Quite nice really. Simples.
Are planning on seeing whether you prefer to use towels or mitts for Rinseless?
@pigeonpoo1823 Up to now I’ve only tried towel and gridded sponge (in conjunction with rinse less). A colleague asked for advice on basic elements required for rinse less wash. So thought that would be a good basis for a video. As I favour the woolie mit for shampooing, I’ll probably save that one the indignity of a rinse less wash, and just use the noodle mitts. Also. As it’s so hot and the cars not enormously dirty, it’s probably optimum conditions for rinse less. Saves me having a melt down. Plus, as it’s so quick. I might have time to jam in another.
@@rev-you1975 nice one.
The car is looking great for such high mileage.
@@vforvictor7575 Thanks mate. She gets copious amounts of tlc. 153k miles and going strong. Quote for paint incoming Friday to sort rear arches and general spruce up. Engine refresh on the cards in the future. Hoping to get another 5 years out of the old girl. I absolutely love it. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. All the best.
Cracking video!, enjoy your Stella 🍺
Thank you. Really appreciate it. And yes. I did. All the best.
The Stella tricked me. I signed up to running 100 miles in September. Ha ha.
@@rev-you1975 🙈🙈😅🏃💨
Really good video test there. The sound was perfectly acceptable. The V2 TL really is an impressive product. This summer I've used TL at 0.5% in an IK sprayer, so 5ml to clean my car enough for a rinseless wash. I wonder with the shampoo, do you have hard water? If so, maybe the dilution ratio needs to be a bit higher (or add some onr as I've read that can soften water?). Thanks again. Will be good to see the polisher make an appearance
@@pigeonpoo1823 Thanks buddy. Good tip re the weak TL in a sprayer. I’ll try that. Also I’ll double check ratios of shampoo and endeavour to get a better result. It performs fine. Just looks relatively flat. Haven’t forgotten about the polisher. Just need to get planned n prepped for that one. Don’t want to generate any misinformation so want to make sure I’m doing it right in advance. Thanks for watching as always. Take care.
Takes me 30mins to get all the stuff out, mixed up etc. good cracking on there 👍
@@senditfpv6538 Ha ha. Agreed. I had spent quite some time mixing, measuring, prepping etc. Funnily enough, there had been a previous comment/suggestion re timing traditional method, contactless method vs rinse less. Including getting all the stuff out. Glad you reminded me. I’ll get cracking on that when I have 3 equally dirty cars. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. All the best.
Comparing yourself to a car wash. Naa mate, for a start I'd trust you with my car. You could see in the reflections just how good a prewash TL is. Quality product. And once you have all the gear out, you may as well use it. Nice work in the blazing sunshine
That is music to my ears. I’m a trusted set of hands. Everything gets washed to spec. No dust. No particles. Am extremely careful with my wash media. It was incredibly hot. Slightly lost my mind 🤪. Also really enjoyed it. After a few few sound issues with the touchless test (currently exporting), I found myself just doing what I enjoy bizarrely, washing a a car to a reasonable level in a right old hurry. I enjoyed myself. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment as always. Hope all’s well mate. Take care.
Enjoyed! Have to say that after a Touchless snow foam that car was definitely clean enough for a rinseless wash…. That’s my go to method now - hybrid Rinseless - active snow foam, pressure rinse then Rinseless wash - the future.
@@trifin5772 Great idea. I’d not thought of a hybrid solution. I’ll try that soon. Thanks. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. I really appreciate it. All the best.
Valet specialist said that Autowheel can be diluted 1:3 and still be effective. Gotta be worth a test!
@@pigeonpoo1823 Hell yeah. I’ll try that. Next weekend. Thanks for the tip.
that is just sexy and sounds awesome
Thanks mate. Much appreciated. My ongoing project daily driver. Costs me an arm and a leg in running costs and servicing not too mention mods. But I love it. Most reliable and indeed fun car I’ve ever had. Practical and fast. Winner winner. Thanks for your kind comment. I appreciate it. All the best.
@@rev-you1975 anything with subaru cost an arm and a leg but the results are so satisfying lol
Be interesting to see what you make of the pair side by side.
@@pigeonpoo1823 Both epic. As expected. Just 1 you use much less of as we knew already. Touch on liked it. Reacted well. Almost impossible to compare performance. Both took the dirt off and left the coating alone. Winner. New one defo more economical.
Is it just strait 10-1 in all iks? I have a pro 12 foamer I want to use it with
Hello. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. Dilution strengths is such a subjective debate. I’d say that 10-1 is a great starting point. Then tweak a little up or a little down from there. Apologies I can’t be more accurate or decisive than that. Water quality, temperature etc all play a part in foam delivery. Personally. I normally use 5% or 10% strength max and get good results. So 10/1 or 20/1. Saves product that way. Good luck.
@rev-you1975 thank you for the info.
