This is a nice, large chunk of well patinad Dinosaur Bone from the famous Hell Creek Formation South Dakota Badlands. Late Cretaceous in age this 66 million year old bone has great texture, gnawed ends, and a very heavy piece for its size!

It's a great time and good exercise lol. Right now we are mostly moving overburden off the top moving down to the layer we are finding the majority of specimens. We are very close to that layer now and should bump into some type of discovery over the next few days! Thanks for the support Rich!

That is a pristine champsosaur vert! We have them up here in Alberta, I found my first one last summer. The one I found is no where near as perfect as this one!

Salutations! What a killer artifact! I am certain that I would have also picked that stone up and put it into my pocket, artifact or not, decided and simply, based upon it's beauty alone! I am a lifetime Hoosier, a native to Indiana, though I somewhat remember the look and feel of some the rocks that can be found in South Dakota, having spent a few weeks in your state....to be an artifact collector or rockhound, you are blessed with excellent hunting grounds to suit your purposes!
