DPF - DOC & EGR Cleaning in house without Heat 75% savings

Broward County Transit with their fleet of hundreds of Coach Buses and owns an FSX Heat cleaning DPF apparatus. They have chosen to use the Cobra Clean Biodegradable solution to clean their DPF's, DOC's and EGR Valves. Like others they are tired of the expense and downtime replacing filters damaged by heat. With heat cleaning most crack and have to be replaced after a few cleanings. Now there i...

      Thank you for your comment. Sorry to say thousands of DPF's have been successfully cleaned without heat. Heat damages a DPF. The Cobra Clean is 100% biodegradable Non Acidic, Non Caustic. The TH-cam DPF video you commented on was one check out the others on TH-cam click on CobraCleanUSA and have fun. If you prefer heat that's your call but beware you may have to replace your DPF after 2-3 cleanings with heat (+/-$2300). Order 15 gallons and test it, you will be a believer. Cobra Clean costs +/- 75% less. Have a GREAT Day!

    I find it very effective to rev the engine up and jam a garden hose into the intake and turn on the tap, the cylinder pressure will push the water through at high pressure and clean out the dpf.

    May I ask how do you dispose the used water that contained the soot and ash from the DPF? Or do you recycle the used solution?

    • @ecofuelsystems7567
      @ecofuelsystems7567 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jun The solution after soaking the DPF should be rinsed out on a wash rack with a filter. The Cobra Clean after it is used up after a few cleanings can be disposed of with waste oil. Cobra Clean is a Biodegradable Non Acidic Non Toxic solution.

    • @ecofuelsystems7567
      @ecofuelsystems7567 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You are advised to rinse your DPF in a wash rack that has a filter. Most commercial facilities have a filter on them. DO NOT use a pressure washer. Some trap it and recycle it with their oil.

    • @ecofuelsystems7567
      @ecofuelsystems7567 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can dispose of the used Cobra Clean with waste oil. Note just because it is black does not mean it is spent. if you set it aside covered the soot sinks to the nottom. 15 gal can clean 2 sometimes 3 DPF's.

    • @ecofuelsystems7567
      @ecofuelsystems7567 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is best to rinse in a filtered wash rack in a commercial garage. If not avail some use a homemade filter to trap the carbon. The COBRA CLEAN itsel is Biodegradable.

    You got to be kidding me. This is the dumbest way to clean a DPF. Get it baked and pressure tested.

    • @ecofuelsystems7567
      @ecofuelsystems7567 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bake it 2-3 time and replace it. Some after cleaning with Cobra Clean pressure test it and yes it works as good if not better than heat, no damage. One Florida Municipality that has a FSX machine washes, rinses and then uses the air to dry and pressure test it. If it didn't work why would they stop using the $45k cleaning machine.

  • @ununius7436
    @ununius7436 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Not really a good accurate way to clean.. since you need to bake it 1000F and then use air to remove all the ash content in the ceramic traps. This method removes some of the soot yes.. but dosnt do the same thing as baking I and blowing compressed air.

    • @ecofuelsystems7567
      @ecofuelsystems7567 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ununius By using Cobra Clean a Non Toxic Non Acidic cleaner that melts carbon you will not need to bake a DPF at 1800 degrees. By not using heat a DPF can be cleaned more than the 2-3 times using heat. Testing has shown a superior cleaning verses baking. Soak, Rinse, Dry reinstall and off you go. Thousands have tried it and swear by it. It is hard to comment unless you tried it yourself. Good Luck.

    • @ecofuelsystems7567
      @ecofuelsystems7567 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Here is another answer. Baking a DPF will damage it aftew a few cleaning. Replacement is +/-$3,000. Your call don't knock it until you try it.

      @@ununius7436 the process of baking it is to burn the remaining soot. Then after the ash is blown out and the ash should be contained.

    • @samhart
      @samhart 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ununius7436 even cooking it at 1000 doesn't break down the ash, both methods only attack the soot, thats fine for cars that have clogged from missing a few regens or from faulty glow plugs If you want to clean an old dpf use this method first to remove as much soot as possible and then soak it in 1 part brick cleaner 3 parts water, that will dissolve the ash extremely quickly whilst having little to no effect on the stainless, platinum or cladding, just don't soak it for too long, you'll know its working if the liquid coming from it is stained red as the ash is red and the soot is black I hope this helps you clean it from home as it seems extremely difficult to find information on the dpf even from garages, however theres many people cashing in big on flushing a single solution through or running a forced regen that will only last a few months edit: make sure you use either this method or a heavy degreaser such as caustic soda drain unblocker first, as the acid solution has piratically no effect on the oil/soot which can then protect the ash deposits ( and make sure the drain unblocker remains under 100 degrees c as beyond that point it will react with the silica)

      When its cracked it TOAST!!!! If you have to perform a forced regeneration on any DPF system you have something WRONG!! Most likely its Upstream Failure from an over fueling injector, cracked injector cup, leaking EGR cooler, burning engine oil, failed turbo, ECT. You have to address the failure FIRST before replacing the DPF or you will this same issue agai . If the aftertreatment is performing like it should per OEM specs you will need to remove and clean it every 300,000 miles.

    • @ununius7436
