Sherrie, I grew up in the Ohio Valley and moved out in my early 20s. I Gtaduated River High School in 97. Im in my mid 40s now and have great memories of you as a newscaster for WTOV9. I currently live in Idaho with my family. I heard the name Mccutcheon on tv the other day and remembered you. Anyways, my parents still live in the valley. I see that you are an overcomer and have dedicated your life to helping people heal and recover. May God continue to richly bless you.

Thank you so much for your kind words, Yes, life is not what I had planned but I had to move my way through as best as I could and then share what I learned with others. We have friends in Idaho, although we have never been, I hear it is absolutely breathtaking. Thank you again and may God bless you and your family.

@@SherrieDunlevy Its a thrill and an honor to speak with you Sherrie. Thank you for responding to me. It's been an interesting 8 and a half years here in Idaho. My wife and I have been married for over 15 years now and we have had our share of good times and hard times, and can relate to the pain of loss. It was through faith in God that we made it through. I shared your website with my wife and see how God used you to help people. I knew you had a gift for working with people even when you were a newscaster, because I could tell you were a genuine person with having never met you in person. The Holy Spirit reveals these things. I do miss the valley sometimes. Manufacturing and the steel industry built the Ohio valley and when it left , it became hard for people. My Dad worked at Ormet and was able to get his retirement before the plant had closed.

I am in the depths of despair right now 4 months after losing my husband of 38 years to Melanoma. I find the expression “ you will never get over your loss but you will learn to live with it” so unhelpful and adds to my distress . I don’t want to get over my loss I want to get over my grief .Its so painful to even think about him. He was such a lovely person and I miss him so much. Thank you for giving me hope that one day I will be able to find joy again. You are an inspiration.

I can’t imagine what you are going through. I lost my fiancé/son’s father in a very tragic way a month ago. It was so sudden and unexpected. I am forever changed. For you to have been married to a person for 38 years, and lose them… I’m so sorry. My condolences. May we both be strong even when we feel we can’t.

Margaret, first of all, my deepest condolences to you on the loss of your beloved husband. This grief, is a journey and of course you cannot get over it overnight. You are correct, the grief can heal, but the heart will always miss your loved one. The pain and suffering will ease too. If you need support on your journey to hope and healing, I encourage to you to join our Graduating Grief Living after loss community on Facebook and check out what the graduating grief academy might have to aid in your healing journey. graduatinggrief.com

A simple but profound thought - to allow ourselves to just 'roll' with the situation (maybe accept is a better word?) and not fight it. Can be applied to so many situations. Yesterday - I had a similar experience with respect to just not being able to get focused. I remember thinking either I have undiagnosed ADD or I am the queen of procrastination but just couldn't seem to get motivated or focused. Wishing you peace this week!
