Kayak Fishing w/ a PINK Jig for SKINNY Bass
Nice work!
I understand that it's an older video but still a good review.. Subscribed! Quick question though: do you have a link on that motor rear mount? Thanks!
Cut to black for the “fast” lowering 😂😂. Nice set up though for real!
very dumb question from someone about to buy his first kayak. Why not a pedal kayak instead? thanks :)
@@jonathangamboa9647 if you’re buying a new kayak, I completely understand a pedal drive system. I had this one for awhile. I wished I had a pedal drive one but wanted the next best system for just $200 so I built this setup at the time. If you have the budget, buy a pedal drive system. They even make trolling motors today that just drop into the pedal slot up front. I’ve since sold this kayak and used the funds to help buy a deep v fishing boat.
My trolling motor goes right through the floor in front of me I can steer with my knees change speed and direction without looking for a remote. It's called a Brooklyn Kayak 13 foot I have stabilizers way back out of the way since I fish coastal waters and I created a live well with the front compartment which is rather large give me an email and I'll send pics
Very interesting and well presented. Can you give me the name and phone number of the person that you purchased the mount and other attachements from. Thank you
I had looked for a side mount, never did find that bracket for sale, always out of stock. so I made one that locks into rail. I'm on version 5, and have sold a few to other kayakers that i've met. That said, I'm still not a big fan of side mount. its hard to paddle and unstable. Version 6 will have an extendable float to compensate.
This is the video I was looking for..Thank you!
Thanks so much. I have the same yak you have had it 4 years and love it. The info you gave me will help me a lot. The setup looks really good, thanks again.
Pretty cool
Looks like it was a perfect day for fishing. Its so relaxing.
best battery for all day running?
Why didn’t you use the four bolts on the left side?
Excellent video, and exactly what I was looking for! Thanks - it will no doubt save me money and trial and error time.
Please make a video on différent mounts for inflatable kayaks. I have a Sea Eagle Explorer 380X Side mount isn’t my favourite but is the only OEM offering
I just got one was trying to figure out how to put one on I am in michigan as well and going into stuff on the bay they work great but I am definitely etly going to look into this
Any update on the wiring lol?
I bought a second Railblaza cart and used the Double Up kit to connect them. Makes moving my Wilderness Systems Thrasher 155 to the launch ramp a breeze. Also use it with my inflatable Kaboat. Best kayak cart on the market period.
Where’s the links?
Nice video, good information. I’m also in Michigan and want to do the rear mount for next year. I handy enough to do most everything, but want to keep costs down.
Do you know if the guy still makes them. His Facebook don’t look busy and the website don’t work.
My first time Kayaking and this Kayak held strong. th-cam.com/users/postUgkx4k5UrhC3v_Y4hIEaXLGvHcN5a5aBmZNB The water got pretty rough as a speed boat zipped by me, and the Kayak withstood it (I expected to be capsized). The Ores are very easy to put together, the pump worked beautifully. the seats are a bit hard to sit in after a while (I recommend sitting on the floor). after reading the reviews I was very scared it'd get a hole in it, the material is very strong and durable. The Air valve may need a small Phillips head screwdriver to adjust, other than that, it's well worth the money!(update)I've gone Kayaking in 3 Lakes and 2 rivers totaling about 40 miles. the kayak had two holes and they patched easily and no other problems can't wait for kayaking season this year!
Para un bote pequeño y es el mejor motor eléctrico que e tenido muy poderoso y ahorra mucha energía le doy un 10 de 10.
I have one can’t stand the fucking thing dose not work on uneven ground fine if you don’t go out the garage try 👎

Great video! Do you have an updated link for the control box knob or description? And is there a link to the control box build instructions?
Where do I find how to wire up this control box…I have almost the similar setup just have an extra actuator tilting the motor back.
Im thinking of doing lift setup, so over the pathetic cables etc. you mentioned you have one setup on the tilt also, wowww i would love to see that, Cheers Rick
no luck ? no worries i feel way less stressed now , waiting for winter to end so i can do the same
Great video! Very clear explanations. The Newport NK300 and NK180 have me seriously looking at options for my 2016 Native Slayer Propel 13. The easy mount for me is to put the motor right in my Propel drive slot. Optimally, I want to speed up my trip to the hole and pedal the yak once there. The twin thruster models have advantages, but the ones I've seen are very weak motors. Still considering!
That's my main way..
Hi Cody, Please could I have the contact details of the guy who supplies the fitting brackets for the rear mount trolling motor. Thanks great video buddy Top man
Unfortunately, he's no longer providing that service any longer.
@@WhiskeyWood_Studio Would you know of any one else please
Where did you get that trolling motor? Did you just disassemble and re-wire a trolling motor?
Yup. Got it on Amazon, cut the length down, and rewired.
Thanks for the video, very helpful. I have a question. The battery, is it like a car battery or is it rechargeable?
Use a deep cycle marine battery for a trolling motor. You will have to recharge it when it gets low
Best way for me was right in the pod . I take the kayak out lots of times where I cant use kayak with motor … but will be using rudder . All I got to do is unplug and remove pod and put pod in with no motor . Nice and easy .
I don’t see a link for the facebook page to get the mount a directions. Is it still available?
Took me awhile to buy it . I bought some cheaper models first and was not happy with them . I finally broke down and bought this about 4 years ago . I am really impressed I have used it a lot in some pretty rough areas , I have even went over some logs with it . I also moved a porch for a rv with it . Porch was about 600 lbs . I moved it by myself with this cart about 400 yards . I use this cart on a lure and moken kayak .
I have a 10 ft Hoodoo kayak that I have a side mounted trolling motor and it works fine except obviously the kayak wants to Veer off to one side for a little while until it's up at speed and then I got a bigger kayak that was heavier I went with the rear mount and an extension tiller for the handle and it works phenomenal. I did not want to mess with a bunch of different wires and cables and having to deal with replacing pwms all the time but the setup I have now works perfect. Like you said you just have to watch videos and figure out what works best for you. Awesome video man!
Did you find it difficult to operate even with the handle extension ? I would like to see how you have it installed.
@@dalevogel83 no not at all, the way I have it set up is very user-friendly and I have a pulley system with a handle up front to get it out of the water I would show you pictures but I don't know how
If you aren't using a PWM or ESC then you are wasting about half of your battery power. The ESC/PWM allows your trolling motor to run 2-3x more efficiently, allowing you to use a smaller battery or the same battery for 2-3x the duration of your current setup.
@@S_Yayyts I have the Minn Kota Endura MAX that is infinite variable speed. I specifically bought that trolling motor because it's already built in so that I would not have to mess with wiring up a separate pwm and then replacing it all the time
I like the first set up, an interesting way to offset the weight would be to run two motors one on each side, there are 30 lb thrust motors that weigh as little as 8 pounds. that would give you 60 lbs of thrust, with an ecm and a 60amp hr lithium you'd be lightweight and powerful.
I like your train of thought
Awesome work on the Kayak Cody ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
do you know how many inch is the Linear Actuator ?
Seems like the guy doesn't make these mounts anymore. Sad.
Disregard, I found the new manufacturer of this bracket. UYOR out of Texas.
why would you need a motor going down a river?
To go up river...
You attached your motor mount plate with weld nuts and super glue? Given no access beneath, how does this hold up and please elaborate on the attaching process in just a few words. Thank you , loved the video and advise.
It just uses 4 weld nuts and a little super glue. It held up without issue. 👍
I just bolted a milk crate to the rear of mine, and then used that as a transom.
Can you share more about your control box? Like where did you get the box itself, etc.
Great setup👍🏽
Thank you so much, your video will help me out a bunch, also awesome job on linking all the items.
Can you send me the link for that actual control box. Or is it just a regular water proof box with latches on the side ..thanks in advance
