Still waiting to see a cover of someone playing this in James style! One-finger hovering technique! You cannot get James sound down perfectly without those full 1-finger notes James played. There was actually footage of James playing this in the Studio, seemingly lost to time. It was on a super old Jazz/Bass forum in the early 2000's but I have had zero luck tracking it down. It was about a 45 second clip of James in the Studio with the Funk Brothers and Stevie, and James was playing this song with his 1-finger, and I was just blown away how he could have that speed with 1-finger. Truly incredible!! But great playing and it sounded really good! Keep up the great work!

Great stuff! My daughter recently introduced me to this artist. How about a cover of her song ' Casual' ? th-cam.com/video/_4BBA8y3DPc/w-d-xo.html Despite being seemingly very simple, basslines like this that define so much of the song are actually hugely challenging to get the right 'feel'. The Student just thinks - ' ah good, just 3 root notes played 4 to the bar quarter, easy' The Master hears all and considers how each note is attacked, how hard, is it using the soft pad or harder tip of finger, is there any vibrato, how long is the note held, are any notes fractionally ahead or behind the beat grid, what is the most appropriate bass sound/ tone needed, and most importantly can immerse himself in the 'Mood' of the song.

Great cover Noboru! I use La'Bella's James Jamerson strings, he is also one of my favorite bass players, and you play it very well! Good tone with those year-old round strings and Jazz bass!
