Zoom G1X Four - Patches, drum rhythms and looper - FREE demo!!!
Earlier this year, I recorded a (very!) fast run through of the sound effects on the Zoom G1X Four, which would certainly be in the bargain basement category of effects pedals. Several subscribers have asked about the processor's other features, so I have recorded this guide to the patches, the drum rhythms and the looper function.
I am playing a Schector Damien (middle pick up) through a Cube 10w amp (on a low volume). I am a completely independent TH-camr and this is NOT a review of the device nor is it in any way a demonstration of my playing skills. I just want to show new guitarists what this entry-level processor can do!
00:00 - Intro, specs and unboxing
01:38 - Bank One patches (Drive)
03:47 - Bank Two patches (Drive and Effect)
05:44 - Bank Three patches (Clean and Effect)
08:07 - Bank Four patches (Amp Modelling)
10:21 - My guitar and amp settings
10:52 - Tuner
11:35 - Moving between the patches
13:21 - Drum rhythms
18:02 - Looper
Please remember to subscribe (or at the very least click LIKE) if you did find the video in any way useful.

      I'm not sure I understand what you mean by "is not able to produce bright sound." I've got the same unit. The unit has tweakability by EQ and volume for each patch, as well as global EQ and volume. Your amp also has the ability to alter the sonic qualities of what it produces from your guitar. Just play with the dials. I have no issues with brightness or dullness. You shouldn't either.

    I hope this doesn’t sound demanding in any way as I think of you as the expert! But I’m a beginner and I’m playing this on an acoustic guitar - I’ve got the grasp of the 1st bit, but you know the chords like ‘D’ and ‘F#’ and the others - where would I place my fingers? Only because I’m having trouble matching mine to the video

    • @britrockguitar
      @britrockguitar 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Firstly, thank you very much for your very kind feedback - I've never been considered an expert by anyone before! 😅 Regarding the chords, play open D chord but bring your thumb over the fifth and sixth strings to dampen them as you strum. For the F#, I would always urge new guitarists to barre your first finger across strings one, two and three at the second fret, and then place your second finger on the third string at the third fret. This is the least punishing fingering for new guitarists and this moveable shape is very handy. If you then remove your second finger, the chord becomes an F#m. With just those two simple shapes on any of the twelve frets, you will be able to play 90% of rock and pop songs. Thank you again for your support and just let me know if there are any songs that you would like me to cover in the future. Above all else, though, keep at the guitar and enjoy all of the degrees of progress that you make. 🙏🎸😃

      Thank you very much for your kind feedback. 🙏 I usually only use a 3w amp for these beginner's videos but for this one I used a 30w Cube amp😅 Yes, my neighbours were also unimpressed...🎸🤪

    • @britrockguitar
      @britrockguitar 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@stevenish95 The opening notes are played on a piano but are just G (twice), open A, G, C and open D. These then lead into those chords that are in the video. Enjoy! 🎸😃

    No play through?🤷

    • @britrockguitar
      @britrockguitar 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I tend not to play the whole song through, mainly due to the longer video size and length. Also, some viewers will inevitably comment on the performance rather than viewing it as the (hopefully!) simple guitar tutorial that it is. 🎸😅

    seriously? you're crediting weller, with craddock's guitar playing? don't get me wrong... weller can do little wrong, in my book... like his choice to use the great, and greatly underrated, steve craddock, for key guitar parts... like those which he plays on this brilliant song. cheers. 😊👍

      Thank you for your excellent comments and you are absolutely right - Steve Cradock is a fantastic musician. OCS are one of my favourite bands and Cradock's playing with Weller has been consistently immense. Interesting fact: I went to the same school as Steve and lived just up the road from him! 😅

    I stubbled into this video somehow and SO glad I did. I would NEVER have attempted to figure out a song like this. It’s not my style of music. But you (it) forced me to listen closely and find the key notes. And it WORKS! Thank you!

      I will be honest, I would never have attempted to figure out a song like this either! 😅 The gentleman who requested it came across as really passionate and sincere, so I was happy to do it for him. You're quite right - if you can get a process in place that works for you, you will be able to figure out any song independently, and this has to be the ultimate aim of any teacher. Yes, you are most welcome 🙏 the pleasure was all mine (in the end!). 😆🎸🤪

      No, I am good, thank you. This is just a small channel for my guitar students and, as such, is only aimed at new guitar players. I have no interest in being famous or popular. The simple pleasure of playing guitar is more than enough for me, trust me! 😅😅
