This is magnificent to see; two of these used to run the hills twice a day to and from Blackwood / Belair when I was a kid. I loved them and so glad they have been maintained for us to see. Now living in WA, I can only see them via these type of video posts.

Two of my favourite SAR locomotives. Thank goodness that Bill Webb came to South Australia and modernised the system.

Wonderful footage of the 520 in the Adelaide Hills. I took this train in 1992 from Keswick in those days to Victor Harbor and return, a long day but truly memorable. Such a pity that the broad guage track was ripped up because I would imagine that if this train would operate for cruise ship passengers each time a cruise ship came to Adelaide taking passengers from Outer Harbor to Mount Barker return it would get full patronage. What a wonderful day it would be for those passengers. And having been on such trains from cruise ships in Alaska and Port Chalmers in New Zealand these type of train excursions are very popular.

Thanks for that. There is a very DVD similar to that from WSP called Back to The Gabba and was shot just before the closure of the Gabba rail yards. PB750 headed the last excursion to the yards.

That's an awesome bit of footage, I now see how all the photos I have collected came from this excursion.
