See exactly what this group of amateur film makers get up to while on this ground breaking boat trip! Boats sinking, lock gate disasters, crew members falling into the drink and drowning, captains going down with their ships, canal bank disintegrates with water flowing out and into the streets, Crikey Moses, thankfully nothing like this happened on the day we went sailing the cut!

Brakes and gauging tests of the N.E.R. 1903 Electric Autocar. This was also a full line run on the Embsay & Bolton Abbey Steam Railway where much of the restoration work was carried out. The peoples heads protruding out from the windows, are not folk admiring the views, oh no, they are making sure the Autocar does not hit anything down the sides as it glides smoothly and daintily up and down the platforms. Sadly on occasions, the frame rate on this little video did not always match with what was edited, causing a bit of jitter here and there. I can’t do much about it now, but that said, I have decided that in future when I edit my stuff, I will ensure that I am wearing a decent pair of wooly socks. Probably obtained from M&S rather then Matalan, or even Asda where, as it happens, I bought a pack of five for a ridiculously low price, as I recall. Mind you sunbeams, I did get a pack of three pair of black socks from Amazon under a fiver, but that’s not why you called now is it? Now, if you click and watch the below nice little video, please do press the like thing, and what would really be exciting, and most definitely rock my boat, would be if you would subscribe to my channel. There are lots of videos on there, mainly railway stuff, with a smattering of other videos you may like. Hours of fun for the whole family!

This is so cool, this reminds me of the American interurban trolley cars or trams whatever you want to call them, but with no polls on the top of this car. Where the pole would have to be raised up to collect the electricity that runs the car. In America interurban trolley cars or trams whatever you want to call them, the original ones were small that look like regular size Streetcars. But they were called interurban cars because they ran in the streets from one city, and then have an extension run along the track till they get to Towns and villages until they get to the end of the line into another city. That's how the interurban cars worked in America, they start it out in small designs like A streetcar design. But later on they grew into bigger designs, twice the size as railroad coaches to carry lots of passengers. So this Electric autocar reminds me of the American interurban trolley cars or trams whatever you want to call them

Almost half an hour of highlights from noteworthy events with members of Mercury Movie Makers taken from photographs over the past 16/17 years! Mind you, some of the pix are a bit suspect quality wise, so don’t go and expect too much much! Also it’s fair to say that as far as entertainment value is concerned, unless you were there at the time, we’ll, it may well be a tad limited, not boring, oh no, never boring, let’s just say noteworthy but lacking a certain something. So why not relax in your very favourite comfy chair, slip off your shoes, pour yourself a tall glass of Sanatagen, or Horlicks if you prefer, pop a couple of Phylosan pills down your cake hole, and enjoy! Probably an excursion given the haulage and the way it went in & out on different routes but, I must say, it looked rather "normal" for that kind of excursion in the 80s....no bashers hanging out of windows nor enthusiasts crowding up the platforms. Through to the the late 80s I think there was still at least one loco-hauled holidaymaker service from Bradford so I did wonder if it was that. The carriages are very interesting, most NSE hauled stock by 1989 was early mk2, these coaches were all mk1. I think the NSE mostly used mk1 rakes on the Euston-Northampton "Cobbler" commuter expresses, which were weekday only, so chances are this was Cobbler stock being used at the weekends. Actually the main weekend use for Cobbler rakes was on the Cambrian Coast holiday trains in mid-summer (Euston to Aberystwyth and Pwllhelli), maybe they were able to spare a rake for excursions as well. Nice to see footage of a place we would have thought of as very mundane at the time.

Hi folks! It seems that I offended a few people with the title and front thumbnail of my film! That was never my intention! I changed the thumbnail but to take off the title words, “Dies in Station”, I would have to re-render and re-load the whole film, and I really don’t want to do that. So, sorry that you were offended and I do hope that I have gone some way to make it up to you, after all nobody wants to encourage suicide attempts on the railways, as one of you suggested the film encourages, or indeed anywhere for that matter.

Ooh, a diesel in proper colours and not the horrible BR blue. I still think that the Inter City Executive livery was one of the best too.
