Long ago, soon after the great cataclysm known as The Day of Ashen Skies, our people were starving. We feared that we would succumb to our ravenous hunger like our Sandmaw Ogre cousins to the south, but fortune smiled upon us. A Sky Giant city crashed right into the heart of our territory. We Gorged ourselves on the flesh of our creators and satiated our hunger... for a time. Soon after, the Fathide Ogre civilization was cemented as a force upon the Forbidden Plains. The Centaurs would bring us tribute, and the clans lived in prosperity. 1440 years after the ash, the centaurs betrayed us and if not for the rise of Ziltagh Gravelhide, our people, our empire, and even our entire civilization would have perished. But, with great disaster comes great opportunity. The Centaurs have shown that they cannot be trusted. We will eat them all and use this excess food to ease the strain of the necessary religious reforms. Magharma will come back stronger than ever and raise our civilization to heights never before seen!
This is set in the world of Anbennar, a dnd inspired fantasy mod for the grand strategy game Europa Universalis IV (4). In this world there are countries made up of Orcs, Elves, Dwarves, and many more races or combinations of races. Magic, artificery, and monsters abound! War wizards launch massive fireballs to break down castle walls! All this and so much more await in this fantastical world!

Glauki the first was, by all means, the single most famous of the Ogre Magharmas and one of the most famous of their time. Instead of being the traditional ogre and warring with his neighbors, Glauki's most impressive feat was in fact the studious removal of state debts and economic development. To learn this, we must anylize the system of the economics and for that we must look as the council he built: "Great Ogre, soverign of the east and Kudoih lands, I stand before you with a developmental index." The orcish steward spoke with an authority normally reserved for warfare, in the year 1616 this orcish steward is the sword of the economy and perhaps one of the most powerful orcs to live since the time of Dookanson. This, is Azagh Bonebreaker, the merchant king of the steppe. "Impressive, it seems the development of the townships where in fact valid. I'm impressed warlord, you seem to have a knack for this!" Glauki replied, the ogre's build more authoritative and dressed then his barbarian predecessors. The 60 year old ogre warlord marches across room admiring the paper, which in certain terms is built around the development of trade contacts with Haless and importation of 'Ogre Quality goods' a feature that Glauki himself didn't understand. "I have to ask, what do you believe is Ogre quality? Our food? Our marble and stone?" "Everything your emmence," Azagh spoke with authority, this time trying to build himself well, "I intend to make the very act of Magharman way of life be the standard of the world. The fathides of the coast are just an example of a standard, their will be more. Indeed, that was the very idea. The idea is simple, make ogre's monumentality and culture be a byword of civilization, even if it is all a marketing tactic. Ogre swords, a work of artisanship, ogre hovels and houses? Wide plan, and space extravagent. Ogre language, flavourful and powerful, ogre crafts unbreakable! "Do you think the krahnorians will appreciate this? I recall my time in university in the Pheonix empire there was talk of the land? Do you think they will buy this?" Glauki and most of the court knew little of the occasional report from beyond the serpent spine, most stories come from further east and south in which the consolidating empires of the lands are facing the speartip of elven empire and the powder of hobgoblin shot. "In a time like these? When the world gets smaller by the day? I know they will," Azagh spoke gently as he began his march away from overlord of the plains. For all of the sins of Glauki's Gravelhide predecessors, the regime seemed stable enough. Though Azagh knew in his heart the coming issue, "Have you given thought on a heir since Bozog left on his escapade. Does he know of the issue?" "NEY! Don't speak his name!" The ogre yelled going from a slightly elderly figure, to a raving madman in all but a moment, "THAT MAN IS DEAD TO ME YOU HEAR! HE IS THE CAUSE OF THE CAUSE OF THE SUFFERING!" Indeed, the hunting accident was only a few weeks prior and the ogre was still reeling from the pain. It was supposed to be Chike III's blooding, a simple hunt to slay a silly northern elk. The bog, that damned bog, one moment Chike was there the next he was screaming for help as the greatest elk ever hunted attempted to crush him under the horns. He drowned in his armor, and three others too. It was blamed on Bozog Heartgrinder, who lead the incursion, but the truth was that Azogh was the cause. He cowardly ran, as the elk drowned his compatriots, his friends growing up in the land. "Apologies your eminence, I shall take my leave." Glauki was perhaps the greatest Gravelhide to exist since Ziltagh the Great. Yet now, he might also be the last.
Very nice, but Glaunki is a woman. She was a talented and ambitious daughter which is why her stats are so good. Otherwise another wonderful tale of drama and intrigue

Kronaktrovtav was the first city in Ogre lands to develop a modern setype printing press, thanks to investment from humans seeking to escape the conflicts of their Lake Federation homeland. Being more comparable to Haless' type then the cannorian type, these 'words' are represented by figures made to simulate the meaning in as little strokes as possible. A common example is the use of house which is a inverted V like that of a tent. However the language itself is also very malleable, with a V representing and outhouse, and several upside down Vs atop one another representing importance of the house in general. While it is not 'modern ogrish' used in the Forgotten Plains of the modern day, many modern ogres are able to decypher it thanks in part to the unchanging nature of the written word in comparison to the languages spoken. Indeed, perhaps the oddest facture is how surprisingly simple ogrish is to learn in comparison to the extremely tonal Fathide language itself.
@@kyokyodisaster4842 is there a canon description of the Orgish languages? Regardless, this is a good museum tour speech

For ten years, ogres warred with the Lake Federation...and for ten years the ogres and human federations committed atrocities in the war without end. Known in Ogre tongue as 'the engulfing' and in the lake federation as the Typhoon Ogre hoards assaulted deep into the heartlands of the Lake Federation, cleaving the region bloody in the name of their Maghjagn empress. The war depopulated both the heartlands, and only ceased for a time with the fall of endless Arrow Hoard which had rode out the storm next to the ogre clans of the east. The reason for this war was twofold: The first and the often profiled by ogre nationalists was that increasingly Magharma was hemmed in by the Phoenix empire to the southwest and the Jadd to the southeast. The other, was greed, the empress Mujagh was convinced that the only way to unify the forgotten plains was to bludgeon those inside it to a pulp. The war's goals for Magharma where achieved in that the three subservient realms where made ruled by ogre administration. The cost? its estimated that up to half a million people died in the famines that fallowed the war, and more ogres died in the conflict then in any other in the entire history of ogrekind up until that point. Worse still, Magharma raised these armies by taking truly horrifying amounts of debt, some smaller loans still being played off by the 1600s. By this point in time, Magharma's paper industry had advanced to the point where history was written not as nobility and scholars but by poets and bureaucrats. Most of these documents come from the real debt accounts from the era, a fact that often places the region as the beginning of the end of true ogre-clayform tablets and the birth of the modern Ogrish writing styles.
@kyokyodisaster4842 the debt being the catalyst for modernizing our language is brilliant. The cost was necessary nonetheless
On the 4th of Nerament 1537, a 500meter meteorite known as the Alcharbaith-stone crashes into the heart of what would one day be its major city. The population of the region is sparce, but the damage it noted as the tablets from the region document the horrors of the sudden and violent entry of the rock into the lives of the locals. In an earlier era, this act would be unnoticed...But to Magharma in the 1500s it was a goldmine discovered. For this was no meer stone rock from space, but a damestear meteorite which would be the backbone of the local economy for years to come. Development of Alcharbaith region came quickly, settlement of the region spiked within the fallowing two years with its population more than tripling as ogre fortune seekers began operations to use the material in every possible way. Being a mountain and the largest rock for a thousand miles, it quickly became a major investment and the government organized around it quickly became one of the first 20 members of the Grand Assembly which Magharma would use to help organize the growing state. Despite this, this sudden wealth becomes a poisoned chalice: Wealth was distributed unequally, with much of the would be-miners ending up impoverished and serfs in all but name to the local leadership. And worse still, is the meteorite quickly depletes as greedy locals pick it for injunctions of cash. By the start of the 1600s the region returns to livestock farming, the only remnant being a reserved and guarded chunk of meteorite that is more a local oddity then a true piece of wealth.
@kyokyodisaster4842 wonderful as always. The damestear was a stroke of unexpected luck and this is definitely how our society would have handled it sadly
Great videos as always
Mujagh Gravelhide was the third Menghurka, and is often regarded as the first truly non-monstrous Ogre king. Fallowing the chaos of Chike's war with the Lake Federation, Mujagh's actions focused on the internal sphere after consolidation of the lands ruled by centaurs to Magharma's realm. Focus of the regime was threefold: 1st, was development of ogre culture and an economic backbone from which the forgotten plains could be tamed. This was twofold itself, with a focus of the economic plenty of magharma trickling down into economic power placed into the forgotten plains and the recently subjugated Valrodhodi federation in the southwestern Lake Federation. As well as as settlement of ogres within the plains and around the Blue Sea. The latter development being to build influence of ogrish naval professionalism, the prior to stabilize the internal sphere by means of exiling would-be miscreants into foreign settlements away from the eyes of the state. 2nd was the development of a true colonial apparatus like that seen in Cannor. Unlike cannorians these weren't colonial ventures designed to extract wealth through crops or mining, they instead where a way to further put down the hegemonic influence of the centaur peoples in the central forgotten plains and counter increasing succession issues due to the ogre population boon in the 1500s caused by unified farming apparatus and advancements in cultivation. 3rd, and finally, was the constant within all these situations: The increasing view of ogres as a civilized and heroic people no different to that of elves, halflings, gnomes, and humans. This idea comes from Mujagh's personal writings taken from his palace in the wine city of Agrnkhles: "We ogres are the strange countermeasure of humankind. Humans exist in balance, but we ogres do not exist within balanced structures. To grant a wish upon an ogre, is to have them ask for three. We ogres want for everything, but unlike dwarves we pride ourselves in our accomplishments and worship the ancestors as a was not an emulation of the now. Must one remember, we ate our own gods?" Mujagh's efforts to modernize the realm came with two great problems: Debt, and increasing cruelty to the centaur peoples unseen since Chike's rule. In the case of debt, the economic wealth of the regime was increasingly tied to oligarchs who using the modernization as a springboard began to further influence the royalty with a surprisingly large amount of them being the Shamans themselves. The second was an increasingly faucet of the state, wherein as the state modernized it increasingly othered the rarer and rarer centaur peoples of the Forgotten plains who the state increasingly viewed as backward cattle no better then to feed the bellies of the population. The term for the treatment of the centaurs is genocide, and even beastbane would be surprised at the cruelty established.
@@kyokyodisaster4842 beastbane would only be appalled because he's a coward and wasn't hungry. Great writing as always
Super interesting episode! Was surprised you didn’t prioritize blocking off the phoenix empire over the MT, but I think your decision will make for more interesting episodes to come. :)
@Lady_Rhea it's more that I will not be able to win against them without a death war and I'm prioritizing the Lake Federation while I can take them easily
Fallowing Ziltagh's demise succession ended up falling to the second Menghurka Chike, who in emulation of his father Ziltagh made war with the Serpent's Shadow tribe. His reign, however, was short due to two specific reasons: The first was his age, Ziltagh's rule was long and by the time Chike was made Menghurka he was already in his late 50s. The second, was the simple fact that unlike Ziltagh the Centaurs had been made subjects of a new enemy. Native to the penisular chain atop the Forgotten plains, humans had survived and made war with the ogres in the first of several wars with the human led lake federation. Chike's death during the the siege of the Valrodhodi hills resulted in a the first succession crisis with power having to instead go to Musou Gravelhide's side of the family due to Chike's own children all perishing during the first Lake Federation War. Mujagh Gravelhide took power first as a regent during the few days when Chike was mortally injured by bullet, before taking power as leader of the war effort. His first acts being finishing the conquest of the southwestern cities of the Lake Federation as well as accidently being the first Ogre Witchkiller by slaying Lankina's witchking Velpaev. This whole sordid affair was documented in three distinct books: The twin Lake Federation Works on warfare, the Velpaev sagas and the Wars of Centaur and ogre...as well as the official documentations by Mujagh's own claystone writings. While Chikes' rule was marred by the first Lake Federation war he was noted for his centralization of Magharma itself. Mujagh, however, gets most of the credit due to being the victorious Menghurka of the war and inheriting his predecessors economic hegemony.
@kyokyodisaster4842 I love that these are written as a Historian's account. Wonderful as always
Are you going to demonsterise or are you staying as a monster?
@UltimateMetalEver definitely demonsterize. Part of my vision is to become a beacon of civilization and to do that we need to have a reputation of fair dealings. To do that and to be seen as legitimate by the world at large, we must demonsterize
Ziltagh to ogres was a Castan Beastbane, to the Centaurs he was also a Castan Beastbane. By his death in 1491, he had spent his entire life battling centaur regimes and because of this its very tacitly obvious that he grew to hate them. One citation often taken however, is the bone city of Langhvear. The City of Langhvear was a late creation of his regime, made as a outpost in the forgotten plains before his infamous campaign against the centaur peoples of the Serpentshadow hoard. The historical rumour of the era was that the city was built off of the bones of the massacred horsemen, but the truth is far more tragic. Musou Gravelhide's writings depict a story where upon the decision to claim the forgotten plains for his legacy, Ziltagh ordered the centaurs of his regime to build a city in Ogre-style made of mudstone locally sourced from the northern regions. Tasked with building the city in a matter of three years, Langhvear's creation quickly became the first true act of inhumanity by the Magharman regime when upon its completion Ziltagh reportedly ordered all the builders and killed for a simple factoid of the city being off center. Historically Musou Gravelhide's story was meant as a parable for historians, an example of cruelty to Centaur peoples of the Forgotten plains. Yet, when excavations of the old city of Langhvear did begin evidence of mistreatment of the workers continued. Centaur skeletons having evidence of being bludgeoned to death, archival discoveries of deaths-per-day by the workers that show the creation of the city was bloody and made by what was effectively slave labour...but the most damning of all was the simple fact that upon the excavation of the historical achieves the proof of Ziltagh's own words became known. In an inscribed tablet, written by Ziltagh Gravelhide himself spoke upon the words of the centaurs to his engineers upon the last years of his life: "The ridelords ride free, open lives without thought upon themselves. Breeding in the open like cattle and horses, they are more animal then living being. If the completion of the city is delayed by another hour, I shall personally devour a host of equal population to the population of this damn city!"
@kyokyodisaster4842 yeah we are definitely not the good guys. We are monsters after all. Great job linking the various events into a story

Why are you purging the centaurs?
@erikastockunaite5192 shortly before the game started, they betrayed us and sent our entire civilization into disarray. For that they deserve everything coming to them. Also they taste yummy
Ziltagh looked across the plate, his appetite satiated at least for now. Sitting in the palace of the giants, the ogres toil greatly to build a modern city out of the ruins of parental monumentality. The complex is one of the largest on the planet, only rivaled by the holds of the late dwarven empire and the palaces in Rahen and Haless, but in sheer size it easily beats them all. Despite this, its not finished. Ziltag's vengeance upon the hoards brought them glory yes, but the wealth is meaningless if they can't be invested. Tribute becomes mills, swords, and a thousand little gems that cover his bare chest as he lays upon his throne. Content having conquered the Forgotten Plains in his lifetime, even if it wasn't direct rulership like his ancestors. Speaking of rulership; enter the Garsvulshim and Achtejardon princes. "Honor be ziltagh!" spoke the representative of Garsvulshim, a princeling who has been courting his daughters who eye from the corner of the throne. "Honor be the southern hegemon!" Spoke the representative of Achtejardon, whose patterned clothing show they are connected to the Frosthide clans whose mages where a consistent bother to him as a child. Ziltagh looked at them both and smiled, eyeing Muson in the corner tapping away at a block of sandstone with Ogre tongue.
I love it. Great job in expressing the pride and satisfaction Ziltagh found in his conquests
MOAR!
It does feel good when number go up. Also! I just realized your pfp has a tiny pair of scissors in the hair, that’s so rad :))
I imagined the ogres to be larger and greener than the one in thumbnail. Artistic interpretations vary of course.
@am8455 You're thinking of the Mossmouth Ogres to the west. We are Fathide Ogres. Our skin has a complexion most similar to the Humans in Haless (East Asian)
Did you know that the Mahharma's MT got updated on bitbucket version of the mod?
@@MrJustEngineer of course it did. I guess I'll need to do a second run at some point once the steam version updates
Are you going to accept any of the races or are you going to eat them?
@@UltimateMetalEver we will accept humans and trolls. Centaurs suck so they will be eaten. Everyone else depends
looks really interesting!
@@Maja-dc2dp stick around for the next episodes. It only gets better
Ziltagh Gravelhide strutted his great girth across the battlefield of the City Razer clan. Its tribute great, and its food greater still. "Sobi! More horse!" He spoke, to his goblin serf. The little creature quickly heeded the behest, and the corpse of some unknown centaur warlord is quickly dispatched, and fired upon a great wok before the Ogre king. It takes a meer minute, but it was the stressful minute of the goblin's life. The Ogre's hungry eyes are attached to the image of the goblin serf, a pickup from the spider-wretch tribe that ocassionally left the mountains to scavage the forgotten plains. To Ziltagh he is as important as the ogre scribe beside him. A pious creature that the goblin knows as Muson Gravelhide, a cousin, or perhaps a nephew? Sobi did not want to intrude, but presented the meal before the great ogre king. A bowl of rice, taken from the ogre heartland of a scale that seems gluttonous even for a ogre of Ziltagh's size and atop it sautaed and spiced centaur chops so flavourful that the goblin doesn't feel worry when the great hand comes down to pat the goblin upon the head. "Sobi! My glorious, green skinned chef! You make me a brothel girl with this feast!" Ziltagh replied to the goblin serf, "Do you wish to partake? Its the least I can offer!" The goblin declined, "I have more then enough meals for the family at home. I wish to thank your eminence the subjugation of the harpy girls have been an experience in my cooking abilities." "They where an experience all right, hahaha!" Ziltagh replied, sworthally enjoying the meal before him. While the two enjoy their comradery, Muson wrote upon his tablet. A document that to the reader described in great depth the events of the early pre-renissuance Magharma: Ziltagh Margh, the saga of the horse eater. A foundational piece of both Magharman history and writing, its from this that further stories documenting the court life of the foundational sovereign of the nation came into existence. Such as proving the existence of the Spiderwretch peoples, which long thought where meer myth to historians in Canor. Most of these stories where later translated by Sil'Mein, a elven adventurer who arrived in the 1560s and set up a regent court church on in the land.
Hope you enjoy Scissors, I haven't written in a bit, but I needed to get experience in! Can't wait to watch this story unfold!
@kyokyodisaster4842 oh I missed these! Thank you for taking the time to bless us with your craft. I look forward to seeing where you take this
The thumbnail really reminds me of the freemarch one also absolutely speed running the centaurs 💀💀💀💀💀
thanks I was going for "slice of life" setting for both. the centaur speedrun is only possible because of the new Feast of the Gods update where you can enforce tributary on anyone bordering you or your subjects... including tributaries. Maybe an oversight, but it's very fun
This campaign is even more fast paced than the Harpy one
It is a crazy start indeed
The thumbnail is so wholesome!!! :)
It's an aquired taste. :)
A magnificent playthrough this was
A proud victory! I choose to imagine that after this episode, the queendom performed a vassal transfer to get the last harpies beyond their borders.
@@Lady_Rhea a happy ending indeed
Stupid invaders from across the mountains. Thanks for the video.
Praying for the downfall of the command
Burat will be best Jesteress. Thanks for the video.
And with a war with Corvoria...I believe that would be total control of central Buhalwar correct?
actually I already have all of Bulwar. Ouardia is considered part of Escann and the Deepwoods is its own thing
At the end of the campaign you should look at the cultural and religious mapmod!
@@erikastockunaite5192 I usually go through the mapmodes. I'll be sure to do those specifically
Podd dodd d dod
Didn't the event state that harpylen had new missions? Also can you read Harpylens ideas?
@Sol_Mortuus not new missions. That's only IF the new country has new missions. And yeah I forgot to read the ideas. I can do that in the next few rpisodes if I remember
