I'm documenting my process of getting better at art. Join the journey with me!
JAPAN & KOREA HAUL 2024! art, clothing, bags, stationery, home goods
I went to Korea and Japan for three weeks in November and this is what I brought back home!
I traveled with my parents for three weeks to Korea and Japan - we went to Busan, Osaka, Nagoya and Seoul.
Vlog of the trip is in the works!
In Korea, I didn't do as much shopping as others seem to do. Priorities were centered around good food and sightseeing. I still visited the ever so trendy Seongsu (but it was raining so hard that day!) to try and find sneakers.
I enjoyed going to Object - there's a big store in Hongdae, and I went to the one in Anguk.
In Japan, I enjoy going to Tokyu Hands or Loft.
If you're after stationery, I recommend visiting areas that are near art universities because they usually are stocked with a wide variety of items.

มุมมอง 283หลายเดือนก่อน
If you're like me, you've considered doing an art challenge, like Inktober, and then give up within the first week (oops) but you always try again and say, "It'll be different this time..." Art challenges are a great way to develop your skills, gain new perspectives, and have fun with your creativity. My 2024 attempt at Inktober was not only about improving my art but also about embracing the p...
I Made a GAME in 10 DAYS (with no experience)
มุมมอง 9662 หลายเดือนก่อน
I had help. a LOT of help. I made the art for a game my friends and I made in 10 days! PLAY THE GAME HERE on computer: whatitch700.itch.io/another-day-another-dollar This was a challenging experience however, my eyes are opened to the possibilities of game development, and making art for games! What we published was definitely riddled with errors, however I think the outcome, for 10 days, was H...

Compare yourself to yourself. After the practice, did you go back and look at drawings of faces and expressions you had done before you did these tutorials? I could see improvement in this video alone. And you are miles ahead of me on face drawing. I need to buckle down and do it more.
I really like your desk❤
thank you so much! :)
Might cop some of those holbein pens 👌
yes you should!
So awesome to see peoples spaces and tools. Personally everything I've used for art could fit in one small bag 😅. Also love how organized it is. 😀
thank you!! it's not always this organized :') and there's definitely simplicity in having less - especially if it helps you create more!
You're so talented!!!❤ Those are absolutely awesome and really cool to look at! I really hope you get more recognition on here! I love how some of your art looks simple at first, but when you really look a it, you can tell that it isn't as easy as it looks at all. I also really appreciate seeing traditional drawing online. Digital art is cool, but I feel like traditional art is just a lot more special, and it also shows the raw talent of the artist.
@Keeeeelannn thank you so much! Reading your comment has made my day ❣️
You're welcome!!<33

@@jonathanlo2116 thank u!
This is so good😊🤪
Thanks for showing this. I'm learning to create minimalistic art in which the player and NPC or enemy interact with each other, so I can create cutscenes for games.
Thanks for watching! I've always wanted to make customizable cutscenes in games - all the best with your next game!
Helpful and well narrated 😊 Thanks for sharing and beautiful work! 😊
thank you so much! so glad you found it helpful :)
Omg you're style is so unique 💘
so sweet! thank you!! 💖
thats so cool x
thank u!
Do you make comics?
i've made small comics for fun in the past! would love to make more in the future 😃

Agreed 💯
The ram added a year to my life he's so cute 🥰
it is a cutie and i love it <3
I'm sorry that ram took me out 😭❤
hahaha it is v cute <3
Absolutely love this. The sketches are fantastic. I've always been a little scared of doing inktober. But i have done challenges before (Mermay, Marvel Month, Disember), and the i agree "Done is better than Perfect". Great video as always😃😃😃
thank you so much! congratulations on doing other challenges - they sound like fun themed months :D imo inktober on social media feels a bit daunting bc of its reputation so I've been thinking about doing a different challenge next year - might consider doing mermay!
oh my goodness 😊
Waww I love how you do your shadows and lights and your art style is gorgeous ❤
thank you so much!! <3
Finally a realistic video about travel journaling. I’ve been tossing up what to take on a trip to Japan and after answering your questions I’m just taking a pen, pencil and notebook. Loose sketching sounds just the ticket. I’ll journal pretty stuff on my return when I’m relaxed and have the time.
Thank you :) Enjoy your trip to Japan and sketching along the way! I'm sure if find yourself wanting some extra materials to sketchbook with, you'll be able to pick something up along your travels.
Camera Looks Fantastic 📷📷🔥
thank youu!
This is one of the most informative videos I’ve seen in this topic, thank you!
thank you for watching! glad it was helpful ❣
This is a really nice look into how a project can start and progress! I like your friendgroup and this more diary style type of editing! Subbed!
thank you so much! and glad you liked the style of editing 🥰
This is amazing ❤
Fear and Hunger spotted! 1:10
fear & hunger is such a good (but horrifically hard) game!!
Your art is fantastic! I love seeing how you bring your ideas to life. I'm on a similar journey, sharing my own techniques and creative process on my channel. It’d be awesome if you stopped by sometime-always great to connect with other artists!
thank you so much! let's grow in our artistic journeys together 😊
yoo this is so cool!! discord light mode kills me though 😭
thank you so much!! light mode isn't so bad 😬😬
I didn’t realize this was your first game! You did an awesome job on the presentation, and 8th place overall is really impressive. My game came in 12th, and it’s my fifth, so I think you’ve got some serious talent for this! Looking forward to seeing more of your work. All the best! BTW nice Team 0:20 😅
yes! first one :) thank you so much for watching and playing the game! I hope to make more games in the future! I had fun playing your game - I got stuck at the level with the mushroooms that followed you when you weren't looking :'( But your art and sound design was very cute!
This is overly underrated! but it’s so amazing that you guys were able to make a game within ten days and the fact that you’ve haven’t made a game before either, amazing job! And the game looks so cute ❤
Exactly
Thank you so much! it was definitely a busy 10 days to pull the game together but super happy with the outcome! ^_^
this is so great
thank you so much 🫶
All this in 10 days? I barely do anything in that timeframe...
Thanks! The 10 days goes by quickly - and felt like 80% of it was done on the last day 😂💀
👏👏👏👏. Absolutely Fantastic. And it's awesome to see how much work goes into these things 😃
Thank you so much! A lot of work and thankfully a worthwhile result!
Also, the stinky food buff is really amusing
It is funny to see all your colleagues run away from you when you have the stinky food
I tried the game and tiramisu is op
Tiramisu best food 🫶 and thank you for trying out the game 😁
Absolutely Exquisite Video. And congrats on your Store. It's always fascinating to see how much work goes into these things😃😃😃
thank you so much! I underestimated the amount of work needed :')
Amazing stuff von!! Your online store looks great, have already bought the icon pack :D
tysm!! and thank you for the support hehe
wow, congratulations! Im definitely gonna check out the store!

Being a beginner means you get to enjoy the noob gains for longer!
very true! impaitiently hoping these gains grow quicker :')
AN ETSY SHOP?! That is very exciting, i'mma check it out :D
thanks :D it's been a long time coming!
Loved this video so much, I can definitely relate to the Comparison mindset thing. I just try remind myself that 1. I've onlt been drawing for 14 months and 2. Every artist is on their own journey. And i also thing the first contour line drawing was Fantastic. Freat video as always😃😃😃😃
thank you so much! and yes, a necessary but tricky thing to remember when you're stuck in the middle of a drawing comparing against your work with references and other artists 🥲 keep up the good progress with your art and thanks for the continued support!
i love blue dog i love cat i love rabbit
Big love for intern rabbit, boss dog and big boss cat 🫶 another day another dollar
my hands would break at the 4 hour mark 😂😂😂😂 good work!
thank you!! Definitely need some rest after this experiment!
Lol at the title. Im a fellow corporate drone wasting away coding by day, scribbling by night. :^)
Hehe! Corporate drones gotta unite and find joy outside of our jobs 🤝
Consistent, Deliberate practice And falling in love with the process. Absolutely the best 🥰🥰. Great video.
yes!! indeed :) thank you so much as always
Wow 8 hours is a long time to draw!
certainly felt like it!
Energy is so important, thanks for focussing on this, I think many of us only think about the material factors (like me 😂)
so important!! I've had many trips where I'm too exhausted to create and then I need to pack all those untouched materials 😂
Do you have any tips on how to get better as an artist??
the easy answer is practice & time 🥲The realistic answer includes: drawing using references from real life, joining a community of likeminded artists who can respectfully but constructively critique your work, and comparing your progress against your own work and timeline - not others! you got this!
