Rockhound Adventures
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 8 พ.ย. 2011
Ever since I was a kid, I've had my eyes glued to the ground, searching for fossils, arrowheads, geodes, rocks and other treasures. Back then, if you opened my jewelry box, you'd find my favorite discoveries instead of rings and bracelets. I started this channel to share my rockhounding adventures with my rock-loving niece, and it has grown far beyond what I ever imagined. I'm no expert, but I learn something new with every hunt and love sharing it with you. Join me on the adventures, and feel free to share your thoughts-I love connecting with all of you! ❤️ Welcome to Rockhound Adventures!

So 😍
That colourful one at the end is my favourite. 😍
@@koreenphotogirl mine too!! The more you look at it the more colors show up! 😍
Beautiful
Muje aise stone chahiye muje mileng😊😊😊😊
I have a few tumbled stones like that. They polish up nice 👍
@@OCurbangardener awesome! I definitely need to get a big barrel tumbler for these bigger ones.
Once it goes through the polisher it will reveal it’s self
My 1st look at the back reminded me of the Eye of Jupiter for reasons known only to me. Pretty. ❤
I am loving those agates you've been finding on that beach. The yellow hidden inside the translucent chalcedony. That one totally looks like a little mountain scene, quartz rivers & all. Nice find. Thanks for sharing.
@@RockyMountainBear ❤️
Больше похоже на кварцит
That orange looks sort of like opal
@@UnmaskingTheMachine I had someone else say the same thing earlier! It really does have a sort of opaly look.
This is flesh go test it
Unfortunately, most people don't appreciate rocks!!
@@kathycoats5256 I know! It just makes it that much more special to be able to share them with those who do ❤️
Very beautiful ❤️
Show Roger at Mudfossil Unniversity! He’ll have an answer!
Looks like a deep space photo of a planet with rivers, oceans, mountain ranges and an ice cap!!! If a planet can be oval that is. 😂 Gorgeous plume agate.❤❤❤ Of course, you'll have the honor of naming it. I like your new format of posting your show stoppers individually. Though it makes me look like a TH-cam creeper because I feel the need to comment on almost all of them. They're just so awesome and inspiring I can't help myself!😅
@@RickSmith-kp3sy lol!! It does look like a planet! And I sincerely enjoy all your comments! ❤️
Geodes are a favorite of mine as well. Nice collection. 😊
Amazing find
I like how you insert information and explanations in the video. Although... I take a bag with me wherever I go now because I can bear to leave any beautiful rock behind. You left some real beauties, too, including an amazing agate. That about ☠️ me!
@@koreenphotogirl lol!!! I take a big bag with me every time now! No rock left behind 😂
You found a coin! The two sides are completely different! Love the clear chalcedony and agate with the creamy round and plumy inclusions!❤ Is that just basalt husk on the other side?
@@RickSmith-kp3sy it is! It’s such a beauty!!
Woohoo! Kelp Agate. Although I did hear someone refer to them as moss agates. IDK. What do you think?
@@ecks_marks_the_spot I think moss agate is more common for sure, but considering our location I definitely like “kelp” better ❤️
Great rock hunt. So restful and soothing. Love the green rocks and the quartz especially. 😀
@@koreenphotogirl Im so glad you enjoyed it! Thank you so much for watching and being apart of the adventure. 🫶 happy hounding! ❤️
it was already polished when u found it..
@@DrandoEdits yeah its tumbled by the waves and other rocks so I find them in a beautiful state ❤️ it’s wet in the video which gives us a good idea of what it will look like polished 🤗
Beautiful
Awesome, ❤ great job on the ID.
Looks like a chicken heart
@@kmas3179 lol!! It does!
😮😮😮❤❤
Something very orby. Maybe hematite (the dark black part) and I am not sure how the orbs are formed. I like it.
It's definitely a bit of a mystery. I love the gradient colors. Reminds me a reptile.
@@1sec2midnight had someone identify it: variolite
Beautiful
Wow, beautiful. I'd have just thought it was an exceptional piece of jasper.
@@RickSmith-kp3sy yeah this one has been one of my favorite finds so far!
Allez couper cette jolie pierre
@@z_186 most definitely! ❤️
Definitely breciated 😊
As Inspector Gadget used to say, "Wowsers!".❤ How could you see those glorious colors from 3 or 4 feet away???
@@RickSmith-kp3sy 🤗 I’m always looking for the “unusual”. The red lines stood out first. Then it happened to be way better after picking it up.
@RockhoundAdventures I'm jealous. I'm not color blind, but my color vision is limited, something about the reduced number of rods and cones in my retina. If I stare at it long enough I can usually get the color correct. 👀 That's one of the many reasons I enjoy your videos so much. That and the Keds. Let me know if you want some prehnite.
@@RickSmith-kp3sy 🫶 and I do! I just can’t figure out the message thing lol! Bear with me!
you’re much braver than me. I know they can’t hurt you too much but they just kind of gross me out a little bit. They remind me of spiders too much. I think he’s kind of cute, but I don’t wanna touch him. I used to have some crabs in my saltwater fish tank. I never wanted to pick them up. 😂 i’m watching you do it and it doesn’t seem that bad now. Maybe it’s not so bad. But Life shrimp are a little worse. They have too many legs.
@@jamesskorupa8694 lol!!! I grew up in the country catching crawfish, giant snapping turtles, snakes and more so they don’t scare me… but I’m very cautious.
❤
Wow so beautiful
Thanks Amethyst_Annie! Green is good! 😂 Love your name too!❤
Whoa! 🤩 Beautiful ❤
Anche io sono affascinato dalle pietre . Quella e' molto bella 👍
Looks like a beautiful piece of ocean jasper ❤❤❤❤!!
@@RickSmith-kp3sy it’s super unique! When recording it I didn’t see those black rings. So cool!
Concrete
Cual es el segundo mineral que muestras?
Mostly chert, chalcedony, feldspar, agate, quartz, and jasper. ❤️
Could that be some basalt mixed in with the jasper and quartz? The dark stuff looks a little glitterbomby. I don't think glitterbomby is going to be added to the Merriam Webster dictionary anytime soon, but the TH-cam spell check didn't autocorrect it!!! 😅😂 So new adjective, GLITTERBOMBY 🎉🎉🎉
@@RickSmith-kp3sy lol!!!! Absolutely love it! The dark stuff is pretty glitterbomby. Looking at it really close it’s tourmalinated quartz.
@RockhoundAdventures Wow, that's a new mineral for me! That's not really saying much though. I'm on a prehnite kick right now. Absolutely love the stuff. It's supposedly found in NC, but the crystals aren't very big from all the pictures I've seen. So I've been buying (lots) of polished stones. Send me an address and I'll ship you some. Did I mention I had lots of them.🤔🙄
@@RickSmith-kp3sy I had to google that one. My gosh they are beautiful!!! And that would be amazing! ❤️
@@RockhoundAdventures I was also thinking jasper-quartz. It’s beautiful!
@@RickSmith-kp3sy I love the new term and also, I collect Prehnite. Beautiful stuff!
Looks like brecciated jasper
@@OCurbangardener never found one like it!
You might not believe this, but I used to be a part time estuarine biologist on the midatlantic bight, namely NC around the outfall of the Cape Fear River near South Port NC. I'd have called that a spider crab of some species in the Atlantic, but that would be a SWAG (Scientific Wild Ass Guess 😂) for the Pacific. Hope it didn't go pinchy pinches on you. Even the little guys can bring tears to your eyes. 😮😢
@@RickSmith-kp3sy that’s super badass!!! I thought this was a spider crab too because of its shape but have never seen one so yellow. After some research I found it was a Kelp Crab which makes sense as we have the kelp fields here. I wonder if he rode in on one as it’s constantly washing up onshore. Never seen one before
@@RickSmith-kp3sy and no pinching lol! He just ran off my hand. 😍
Hi❤
@@malik-gs9of hello! 🤗🫶
👍
Hermoso jaspe multicolor.
What is this RA? Granite?
@@RickSmith-kp3sy I’m thinking basalt. It’s a beauty!
@@RockhoundAdventures Another one of your glitter bombs!😄
@@RickSmith-kp3sy yes! 😍
The colors of the rainbow! How's it look back lighted?
It's gorgeous! Looks like a nebula
