During the spring and summer months, Toronto's Tommy Thompson Park is home to one of the largest colonies of double crested cormorants in North America. Follow ecologist Gail Fraser as she studies and monitors their nesting behaviour.

Just a few minutes outside of Toronto's downtown core, lies Tommy Thompson Park. A five kilometer peninsula that is home to great diversity of plants and animals.

thanks for this. i was investigating a cormorant rookery (Île Young, Ottawa) recently & the closer i got, the more clumps of regurgitation started raining down &, when i finally stepped outta the boat onto the island, a veritable vomit fusillade cascaded down, making me suspect it was a defense mechanism ("noöne wants to get puked on"). this is the first mention i've found of this that confirms my assumption about rookery disturbance provoking projectile vomiting (though they didn't seem to be aiming it at me).

Been thinking about having one as a fishing partner, how could I go about getting a rescue chick? Are they hard to train? Do they bond to humans?

The Now magazine article that mentions this video didn’t even bother to watch 3 minutes into the video - To then rip into the premier I guess you can make up anything
