Underwater white balance was selected when taking videos of the sea creatures (More blues in the colour tones bringing back also, more colours into the overall scene) Auto white balance is used for all other captures. (Muted Greenish tones for “underwater” scenes)

    Just came across this today. I'm your Malaysian neighbour, living in KL city itself. Let me tell you that your ex-colleague & you are not alone in this. It happened to me too. I discovered others, even in America, that unlawful dismissals & discrimination in workplaces are gaining traction even in corporate offices too. It is unfortunate that we discovered favoritism too late when our (ex)bosses totally ignores us, & blatantly promote the younger, and/or sweet-talker colleague over you... when you have bowed your head, try not aggravate your boss & have worked hard with many OTs to one day, earn the job promotion or pay rise you have hoped for. But the boss favourite did way less work, yet strangely soothes the boss' ego a lot. Sadly, when this is a global trend going on secretly for some time lately, we discovered too late that: 1. Most bosses have weak leadership traits. So, they rely on young, eager-to-please juniors on their first jobs after college/university to suck up to the higher powers. Notice that seniors who are good in their work usually aren't easily manipulated to buy/say sweet words easily, hence insecure bosses tend to always be awkward around them & cannot relate to them? A.k.a. good, cordial relationships with bosses moves you up the corporate ladder faster. Not your good work ethic or expertise, sadly. If you find a strong-leadership boss who is empathetic, recognises your hard work & willing to fight for employees rights genuinely, let me know, & I'll sign up (almost) immediately! I said "almost" because it depends on the skills that strong-leader boss wants. 2. Companies are driven for maximum profits, at the expense of employees' fair rights & well-being. If your boss & other managers/leaders have boasted or love-bombed you before during your early work tenure there, that the "company upholds its equitable values, we treat everyone like family, work culture here is pleasant, no one is getting fired, etc." I can guess you & your ex-colleague found out towards the last day of work - whether you were pressured to resign or not by company's HR - it was all BS lies all this time to first entice you to work their workload + get the money in to enrich the Upper Management in the end. I want to say, it is not you & your ex-colleague(s) fault, but the managements around the world who treat their employees like this are very screwed & selfishly looking out for themselves only. I guess you can blame the 2023-2024 economic crunches for that. Chin up - we do not need to feel ashamed that we have a decent moral compass in us to guide us to do things right. Be proud that you did your best. See it as God's blessing to take you out earlier from that obviously toxic work environment, which I 200% guarantee it is going to get worse - because even the boss favourite will soon one day have to do actual work of his ex-colleagues who have left the company. Your boss favourite will likely not maintain the sweet relations with boss long after. Even the boss is looking out for him/herself & owes no loyalty to anyone. Let Karma do its work, ya👌👏

      .. Well hi there @rebeccaliew2247 ! I’ve been to kl before and I thoroughly enjoyed myself (as a tourist of course). Thank you for your thoughts. Beautifully written. And I could not have agreed more on the point mentioning most bosses having weak leadership traits. Have you ever felt like you’re discussing some work related matter with your boss and you feel you’d go further talking to a wall? We can be educated in school, learning math, history, science but a person’s eq, their cognitive awareness of their surrounding, empathy, now these qualitative aspects can be a wee bit tricky to well, quantify. I realise it’s best to just think and resist the “societal norms”, what we’ve been programmed to believe is good for us, getting an education, work, promotions etc. everyone’s’ experiences are unique to them and I suppose it’s a life, more fulfilling, if we were to focus on the actual things that matter to us, that makes us happy, and that we have a greater probability of control towards. It’s definitely worth a try! (:

    The parallel shadows of those crepuscular rays (as viewed from directly above) suggest that the Sun must be a very great distance from Earth. Use any star finder app for that phone which will point in the direction of the Sun during the day. At night, what direction is the Sun according to the app?

    • @Justrandomhobbies
      @Justrandomhobbies ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for sharing! Yes I have heard of these apps before though I haven’t used one. I took this video by chance, during sunset, as the sun was pretty clear in the sky. My intentions were, somewhat, to see if the sun was moving away from us getting smaller. But I think in this video, 1. the circumference of the sun seems to be the same throughout the video. 2. I also realised that the rays are “spreading out” from a central source rather than all directly parallel (not in a spread out manner) towards us. Which is another point I’m still curious about. (:

      @@Justrandomhobbies Why not perform a time lapse of the Moon as it moves from overhead to the horizon? This would have the advantage of avoiding solar filters (I'm not sure that they make them to fit the iPhone 14). Also, the individual images in the same photo would make it much easier to determine any angular size change in the Moon's image. The star finder apps are pretty cool. Just hold your phone up in front of the sky and it will identify the celestial objects. This is great if you're trying to figure out if that bright "star" is actually a planet.

      Ok now I really feel I have to try this star finder app! Haha thank you both!

      Ahaha. The moon eh? I actually saw the moon the same night on the 27th Sep. But it was almost direct above my apartment I am living in so it’s a little difficult to capture from my balcony. Haha. But then again… hmm.. interesting idea, perhaps if I can find some time on a Friday or sat night and the moon is in the right location in the sky… why not?!! I really appreciate your sharing and your thoughts! Thank you!!! (:
