It'd be funny if it wasn't so tragic: the council get Travellers to settle down in one place and give up a core part of their nomadic lifestyle, only to neglect the place. I'd say it's unfair but they do the same with most council flats too. On the bright side these travellers will have an address so they can get work and have the chance to send their kids to school. I wouldn't given my right arm for that when I was growing up in a mobile home.

I have an Irish Gypsy family living next door, their kids are good lads, but the lack of cleaning of the family is terrible, the flat was given 5 years ago to them, completely refurbished, new kitchen, bathroom, and new garden fence ............... 5 years later (now), the house is almost in ruins, the fence panels have been removed by them (the father took them off the poles and were left at the back of the next garden, broken and their garden is full of rubbish, broken chairs, broken tv set, weight lifting set rusting scattered everywhere; the smell that comes from their house is horrendous, the kids seldom go to school and they keep until late (10:00 pm) paying with balls that the kids kick hard and bounce against the walls ....... they do not care if they make noise to the rest of people living next to them ............ I can say that the area where I live is very good, everything is close and the bus service just on the corner of the main road is great, but the Kurdish people and this gypsy family make it so difficult to live in comfort around here.

Make up your minds, you moan if they camp in parks or at the road side and now you moan about static pitches. There’re paying rent and I assume council tax, so why shouldn’t the council maintain the site? Take a trip around a lot of council estates and see how many residents are actually cleaning the streets, very few I’ll wager.

"Travellers" definition is people who travel . on the move , mobile, nomadic , away from home . How come the term now applies to people in a permanent location who dont travel unless its to dump some rubbish on a quiet road from the back of a Ford Transit .

If they are Irish tinkers they don't have any business in England , I'm Irish i know a family got a nice council house they wouldn't live in it, they stayed in a caravan with a new baby, they moved to the roadside after about 2 months, another group had new homes build for them they didn't move in they wanted a field to put horses in, they are still not living in the homes they got no field, They pay no tax as they they don't work they go around dressed up and collect dole. When I was a little roma boy am 60yrs old my granddaughter doing this for me ,a council worker told my dad we had to go to school so we did we put in separate rooms with picture books a caretaker ,then at playtime we went after the other kids came in same at dinner given left overs found out it was so the school could get money and they still do we never went back
