Amtrak Train Meets and Races in Princeton Junction!
มุมมอง 25921 วันที่ผ่านมา
After a month-long break, we return to a station along the busiest section of Amtrak's Northeast Corridor. Princeton Junction Station (PJC) sees frequent New Jersey Transit commuter service and the occasional Amtrak train. Most of the time, however, Amtrak trains breeze by this station at high speeds. PJC also serves New Jersey Transit's Princeton Branch, running north to Princeton University. ...
A Quick Train Day At the Valley Railroad!
มุมมอง 245หลายเดือนก่อน
On a sunny New England day, we visited the Valley Railroad of Essex, CT, to catch #97 running through the Connecticut River Valley. Although I would've liked to feature more from this day, my tripod was abnormally shaky making most of the shots subpar. Expect less shaky videos with a new tripod in October! If you have any questions, leave them in the comments below! Linktree: linktr.ee/northeas...

Bro the second you said you've definitely heard the sound I heard a train honk😂😂
I occasionally see some on the freight tracks near me. I just assumed they replaced the pump cars of old.
considering how big America is it’s only got this one route. that’s pretty poor
No joke I’m not even near a train and I can still hear it
I live in Texas and don’t live near trains… but my grandma did so when I slept at her house I always heard the trains at night… one of my favorite memories
Put the fastest train on a route with 40 stops so that it rarely can travel at speed.
I live next to a 2 rail track one near me trains don’t go often there but the other one it does the last one when it crossing a bridge but I though it just for things idk how to say it and yes I did hear the first noise
Sounds like my grandma's old refrigerator 😅
I’m the 100th comment
As awesome as the 611 is, it didnt have the highest horsepower, which was around 5000 hp. Other 4-8-4's, such as NYC 4-8-4 Niagara, which generated upwords of 6000 hp. However, the N&W J- class 611, did indeed have the most pulling power, that is tractive effort of 80k lbs., without a booster. That is phenomenal. The magic happened due to its 70 inch drivers, 300 psi steam pressure and exquisitely designed and balanced running gear ! The N&W J, the NYC Niagara, & the C&O Greenbriar, IMHO, were the finest 4-8-4's ever built !!
I'm guessing the dynamo also powers the interior lights of the passenger cars?
In some cases, it does. Sometimes, however, the lights inside the coaches are powered by a generator underneath the coach.
Last one sounds like he was rev matching
Those trees guzzling up insane exhausts💀💀💀
i think you might be like one of three people that doesnt say turbine like "turban"
“20+ year old train sets” I was born the day before these came out, hearing that line made me feel old and I’m only 24…
Train are gorn so much is to give way a train rail cross so cars can't be get accident
even lamb can go faster then 150 mph bro that like nothing compared to average uk trains or bullet trains
Don't call them bullet trains. It's the Shinkansen.
@@MAL1GNANT WDYM AM STUPID
Cape gauge is smaller than standard at 3ft but not as small as Narrow (normally 1’ 11 3/4” - 2’ 6”) and less is minimum and miniature
that's not a hum, that's a buzz
I am 55 and I learned a new thing!!! Excellent.
It's not always the rail gauge that determines the size. It can sometimes be the loading gauge.
I live in the uk , and i live really , close to a railway, like 2 houses down and up a small hil , and directly infont of my house there is a bit of construction going on , so the train always has to honk super loud incase of any people on the tracks , and we get all types of trains up there , the cargo train has the loudest horn , i get jumpscared every time lol
Because they wanted too
i know theres a really small railway somewhere in the uk, its like garden scale but you can ride it, they have some in america too
American railroad❌ Europan railroad✅
Lightbulbs dont run on gasoline either but cars still have em lmao
Please tell me you're joking...
Train tracks run through the middle of my small town and I can hear that long crossing whistle multiple times when they come through, as there are at least 5 road crossings in (maybe) a half mile-mile long stretch. New neighbors often complain, especially when it passes about 2am, but over time you get used to hearing it.
I always wondered why steam locomotives burn coal for several gigawatts, and all you got was some kilowatts and they lost so much steam, that every other railway station MUST provide the train millions of liters of new water. These locomotives wasted everything they should NOT waste. You wonder why these things are gone?!
Shame we dont have good train infrastructure in the rest of the country
You think the NEC does? 💀
And then there’s Ireland where the trains are most definitely not high-speed but has a gauge of 5’3”
I love you crossbuck
Avelia liberty: *dies of coughing*
that would explain why its not out yet
America desperately needs to invest in public transport finally
Europe and Asia have surpassed America. The US is still operating in 20th century train tech. Its embarrassing
I never knew that. How interesting
I think they use candle 🕯️ for headlight lights 😮
👾👾👾
as a British person,I’ve never heard this.
I personally describe it more as a ringing or rattle
I’ll ride when the tracks are better protected
Why do they blow the horn after the loco and the first few cars have crossed?
Some engineers blow the horns a little longer than others
The railroads were built by private companies without a cent from government. Now people think without government there would be no roads and politicians tell gullible voters that every new tax is either for the roads or the schools. Get some common sense people!
They DON'T "honk their horns".😆
241km/h lol yes trains in usa sux hard
Fact train bell swing side to side but bell gets spinning
No, I haven't heard it, as I am British and we use oil / paraffin or electric bardic handlamps. Though, I do find it interesting that the U.S.A. steam locomotives use an electronic turbine generator.
Not just the u.s. Canada has them, too
I thought that Nr. 611 was the only locomotive ever built in USA. Thanks for information. 👍
