Our steel is used in many applications; cars, household equipment, food cans, solar panels, etc. ArcelorMittal is one of the largest steel producers in the world. In Belgium, ArcelorMittal has plants in Gent, Genk, Geel & Liège and produces about 6 million tons of steel per year. The health and safety of our 5,000 employees is our main priority. In addition, we also strongly focus on career development opportunities for our workforce and a diverse range of internal training courses to enable personal development.

Ik werk op tata Nederland.... maar jullie draaien zonder pellets dus?
Er wordt met heel veel sjieke termen gegooid, maar eigenlijk is het dus gewoon een soort cokesfabriek maar dan met afvalhout als input materiaal. Zolang er enkel B-hout gebruikt wordt is het een prima toepassing. Als er ook A-hout gebruikt wordt, zeg ik: zonde. Dat kan ook veel nuttiger toegepast worden zoals het recyclen naar spaanplaat.
Hallo, de analogie die je maakt met de cokesfabriek is correct, onderstellende dat torero op veel lagere temperaturen werkt. Binnen torero zal er alleen met B-hout worden gewerkt wegens de reden die je aanhaalt: circulariteit wil niet alleen zeggen dat je ‘afvalproducten’ opnieuw gebruikt, maar ook en vooral dat je deze op de juiste manier gebruikt. ArcelorMittal België heeft trouwens enkel een vergunning om biocoal te produceren uitgaande van afvalproduct.

Better Energy for Today and Tomorrow
Erg interessant om te zien hoe het proces in zijn werking gaat! Wat zijn nou eigenlijk de concrete plannen voor Hauts-Fourneaux B in Luik? Ik hoor geruchten dat de hoogoven blijft en wordt opgengesteld als cultureel erfgoed, en de rest er omheen wordt gesloopt? Aangezien er al behoorlijk is 'opgeruimd' op het terrein ben ik erg benieuwd wat de plannen zijn voor de toekomst! Hoor graag van jullie :)
