Do you have a website?
susanrisch.stampinup.net Please feel free to support my friend!
Do you know if any of the close to my heart inks are still available? i'm going to miss their inks so much!
Unfortunately I don’t think they are unless you buy from a former makers stash. I did hear that Stampin’ Up! bought the patten for CTMHs stamp pads.
I was a CTMH demonstrator when I lived in San Diego and had so much fun doing cards and projects with all they had to offer plus I did some of my own craft projects. Now I live in a tiny little town in Idaho and I’ve retired and now I’m getting rid of all my stuff. It’s hard but I’m almost 82 now so it’s time. I do have a younger friend who does the Stamping Up so since there is a merger maybe she will take some of my 12x12 papers with plastic holders for them and hopefully someone can take my rubber stamps shelves. Anyway, thanks for your video.
Thanks for watching! 😊
Re storage. You could just go to a thift store, buy a boxed dvd. Throw away the dvd and use the case for storage. You may even have an old dvd somewhere at home lol.
Creative idea!
There are quite a few great stamping companies. Echo Park, Honey Bee, My Favorite Things. I’m a Stampin Up demo and feel they are all comparable. Not a fan of Amazon. There stamp sets and dies work horribly. Stamps don’t impress well and are flimsy. Price points to me are similar, but with Stampin Up if you go through a local demo, they are there to help you with your purchases. Good comparisons. Also…where are the products manufactured? US, China, Thailand? They all have unrecycleable items. I like the boxes for storage.
Thanks for the tip on Honey Bee & My Favorite Things, I’ll have to try them out!
SU dies aren’t made in the USA and neither are their punches.
@@karenpiermarini3628 their dies are made in Germany but the stamps, paper and ink are made in the US.
I don’t like the stamping up packaging, more unnecessary bulk and plastic-bad for the environment. Plus it makes their stamp sets more expensive
All the better reason to try other companies and be on the lookout for storage solutions!
Great comparisons, however, the Misti does have a foam insert. You can't beat it for perfect placement on a die shape for production. Amazon has the perfect magnets with envelope and fit in the SU case.
Thanks for the tip, I’ll have to check that out!
Did I miss the comparison of the dies from SU? Someone tell me where to look on the video.
I didn’t demo the dies from SU in this video, just explained that SU come separate and in their own envelope vs EP being connected.
I do separate my dies and store them on magnetic sheets. For that I use the magnetic furnace vent covers from Home Depot and cut them to the size I need. Much cheaper than the sheets made specifically for crafters. I do not put my stamp sets into unique packaging unless the original packaging is damaged. I just leave them in the original cellophane envelope. Works fine for me. I have quite a few Echo Park stamps and dies and I have never had any quality issues with them. To me, Stampin' Up products are overpriced. I would never spend $46 for a stamp and die set unless it was gigantic.
Thanks for the tip on the magnetic sheets, I’ll have to get some from Home Depot!
Where did you buy the magnetic sheets?
Mine were leftover from CTMH. However, someone commented that they buy magnetic furnace vent covers from Home Depot and cut them to size.
I'm a Stampin' Up! hobby demo, and I would totally buy Echo Park if they are photopolymer. Acrylic are ok, but it depends on who you get them from. I will not buy silicone stamps. They are trash. I hate having to take my dies apart. Hate it. But........if the price is good and I love it, I will. 😊
The ones I demoed were listed as photopolymer on the EP package. I agree, I have not had luck with acrylic stamps unless they were an acrylic photopolymer hybrid.
Good video! What is the brand/ where did you buy the metal table covering? Thank you.
I got my cover from Dollar General. It’s called Magic Cover Shelf- they have lots of designs.
The coffee stamp you did using the Misti probably wasn’t as good because your paper was hanging out and wasn’t level etc. I highly recommend a sticky mat in the Misti-any brand. I have never been successful just using a block - just not that brave!
I almost thought that’s why the Misti didn’t work as well. I’ll have to look into investing into a sticky mat.
Thanks for the comparison. Echo park is my second favorite for designer paper only because SU color coordinates. The quality is great on both. If i buy designer paper at local stores, I end up giving so much away. I also find most 12x12 packs are designed foe large (scrapbook) projects and not easily used on card making.
Agree! That’s what I like how EP offeres 12x12 and 6x6- perfect for any papercrafting!
Thank you for the honest review. I do like that you looked at all the categories. Storage is an interesting thing Since I have both SU and other brands, finding a storage solution that works for all the things is my issue.
It seems to be a challenge for most of us crafters. I’m all about organization but also don’t want to break the bank on storage!
Were the Echo Park acrylic or photopolymer? Some of the EP stamps are acrylic and not sure they are labeled correctly. Their photopolymer is a lesser quality. The stiffness of EP may be explained based on how they are made. I don't like having to cut the dies apart and I have hurt myself with the sharp edges. I agree having to figure out a storage solution is an added step/cost. There are other companies that I have bought and have been happier with. Thank you for the comparison.
The ones I showed were labeled photopolymer. I’m assuming they were labeled correctly. Thanks so much for watching! 😁
Very nice video both Echo Park and Stamping Up making quality products just in different price ranges.
Thank you so much! 😊
Stampin'Up's business model is unique to the industry, so not really a fair comparison in price. Are they higher? Yes. But consider customers will be able to get a 10% discount at some point, plus demonstrators receive a commission on their sales, plus the better packaging. It all factors in to the retail price. For the Misti by My Sweet Petunia, the best solution is the sticky mat made by Waffle Flower. I first tried the sticky mats made by Misti but they slid around a bit. Tried the sticky mat by Waffle Flower and its a game changer. It totally fills in the Misti and does not move. I even leave it in for rubber stamps and have no issues. Magnets can allow paper movement and ruin a project. I left SU in June and havent looked back LOL.
Thanks so much for the tip! I’ll have to look into the sticky mat. 😊
Where did you buy the magnetic sheets?
Mine are from old CTMH stamps/thin-cut sets. However, tons of places online carry them.
Ty
Thanks for watching! 😄
Hello nice comparison video. Love how you described your steps and honestly reviewed your progress! As a SU demonstrator I’ve started buying Echo Park and Tim Holtz stamps and have found they really just as nice as Stampin Up sets. However, anything from China is usually poor quality that looks distressed no matter how you stamp. Happy crafting! ✂️🩷📎 Trish
Thanks for watching! 😊
Thank you for a very informative video!
Glad you enjoyed it! 😁
Good comparison. I can't justify paying Stampin Up prices for stamps and dies. These are items that have a shelf life, meaning I won't keep them forever. Thanks.
Thanks so much for watching! 😁I just love this hobby so much but definitely need to be conscious on how and what I spend my money on. I’m looking forward to EchoParks next warehouse sale, the quality and price is fantastic!

I love the Kiwi Lane templates and the quality of their paper is unmatched. I discovered them years ago at a scrapbook expo and have invested in quite a few sets. I did use to be a demonstrator for a little while (I think they used a different term). My CTMH paper (I was a maker with them as well) worked well with the Kiwi Lane style of mixing patterns. I hope you enjoy them. Thanks for sharing. Also, I love your layout.
Thank you! I love KL paper too it’s nice and thick with vibrate patterns. I agree the templates play well with CTMH paper. I have a future video with some Christmas paper from CTMH and KL templates.
@@CraftDiva45 looking forward to seeing it.

OMG - these are just the cutest paper packs, no I am off to see what I can snag from Echo Park. Thanks for sharing ~ HUgs, Gale The Happy Stamper :)
Absolutely, I couldn’t help but share a good deal-Happy Shopping! 😁
The lighter weight cardstock is in part due to a few key reasons for scrappbookers. A lighter weight cardstock helps the weight of your albums. It also is more easily punched for decorative elements using all of CM’s fantastic punches and border makers.
Absolutely makes sense, and I was wondering the same thing! I’ll have to test out the border maker system with various cardstock. 😃
I think the best thing about repositionable tape is that you can easily use it on items that you might otherwise have to use glue because adhering tape runner would be too tedious. Laser cut embellishments for example. With the repositionable tape, you just run it across and it only sticks to the embellishment and doesn’t deposit tape in the holes.
Great tip! I’ll have to try that out 😁
I do use a number of CM products but absolutely feel they have the very best albums.
Their albums are simply above the rest!
I love CM's repositionable tape.
I know it will definitely come in handy. I’m always needing to move things around on cards or pages!
Glad to see the CTMH 6x6 page protectors in this release. Hoping Stampin Up continues to carry.
Agreed!
Looking forward to this release. I use the D ring binder like you, since I scrapbook non chronologically. Then I put the layouts in order when I transfer to CM Album (always the best in my opinion). I love using CTMH 6 X 6 albums as gifts with remade layouts for new mothers or memory books of special occasions. And the Summer Gnomes!!!
I love that idea, how wonderful of a gift for a new mom! Yes the summer gnomes are super cute- I’m pretty excited about getting my hand on them!
A CTMH customer with a a CTMH registered email can buy the SU! from ANY Demo including SU folks. It will be just like Paper Pumpkin - if the customer is NOT a subscriber who enter their qualified email they cannot place past kits in their cart. It is the same with CTMH products.
Thanks for the clarification! 😁
I only use Creative Memories Albums and although I have purchased the CTMH small pocket inserts for the strap albums I prefer the Creative Memories 12 x 12 pockets because they are top loading.
I do like the ease of top loading but definitely like the price point better with the CTMH page protectors, gatta love a good deal. 😃
This was very helpful
Glad you found it helpful! 😁
Creative Memories does top loading sleeves as well :) I have and use both in my lovely CM albums.
Thanks for letting me know!
Welcome to Stampin’ Up😊
Thank you 😊
I'm not sure I'd want to be aligned with SU... The owner's daughter is going on trial for hiring a hitman for her ex husband's murder... They bought her a MILLION dollar house out of the state she lived in for her to flee to to hide from the police, they are also withholding visitation of their SHARED grandchildren with their other bio grandparents. Not really the kind of group of people I'd want to be associated with.
In your “Mini Boss” mini embossing machine you might try and use plate 3 instead of 1 if you are having any trouble …. Some machines are tighter than others. Welcome to SU
Thanks for the tip!
Beautiful pages
Thank you!😊
Love it!
Thanks! 😊
Welcome to stampin up! A lot of demos add a magnetic sheet to the inside of the stamp case and store the dies there… keep the original packaging for selling at a later date…
Great idea, thanks for the tip!
FYI.. I also put one of the non-English stickers on the back of my ink pad in case the back is facing towards me
Good idea!
Great video thanks
Thank you!😊
Welcome to Stampin Up. I'm a demonstrator in Australia, and I for one am very excited about the blending of CTMH with SU. I love your choice of products from SU too. I have them and can honestly say they're really versatile.
Agreed! This blending of companies is going to be amazing, very excited for the future!
Is this kit/suite available now? I’m not finding it
It’s unfortunately on back order until the week of May 13th, definitely a popular item!
Thanks for the great information! I’m a CTMH scrapbooker and was happy to hear about the four kits that will be offered in the fall! I’m anxious to see how Stampin Up will incorporate scrapbooking into their lines.
I’m so excited to see the 4 new suits/kits for scrapbooking this fall especially since sticker sheets will be included! 😁
Welcome to Stampin' Up!
Thank you!
What if we had both a Maker from CTMH and a SU demonstrator.. how do we choose? Do we get a choice?
If you’re referring to the ability to sell the CTMH products from May-Aug that’s only for former CTMH Makers who join in April.
