@@7Ifx main reason I haven’t uploaded recently is because of the Infernum nohit stuff. To make it short, the nohits finally got reviewed and it turns out the entire community agrees that the rules document is horribly outdated. I had no idea this was the case. When doing the nohits, I followed the document very close to what it specified, but almost all of the post-moonlord nohits got denied because of the document not giving enough info. I’ll redo them soon and upload the video when they’re done, but it might be a while since I’ve been playing lobotomy corporation recently and I’m having fun, so idk when you can expect to see anything else.

Well, the first visit to Faraway that we get to play ingame is set a year after the events of the game, so that’s an entire year to get back to normal. Realistically, a little more time might’ve been needed, but it’s not impossible for things to go back to relative normalcy since like, they’re all best childhood friends and not some highschool friends of two years. Same thing for Basil and Sunny, there’s a lot of time to get back to normal but it’s not impossible. The mod does bring up some issues or awkwardness between them (like Sunny’s eye) but again, still within reason. Also, I don’t think the point of the mod was to be interesting. I feel like the point was to just show everyone being happy and not try to do anything else, and it achieved that about as well as it could’ve. Would’ve been interesting, but kinda tone deaf to its purpose. Thanks again for commenting btw, always nice to see some extra interaction 👍

(also yeah the more i think about it i don't think hero is done that well in this mod, him moving on from mari so quick and forgiving them could probably use more development)

thanks for the comment dude, its an awesome surprise to see you here. honestly, despite all the issues with adapting Omori from a game into another medium, i think a large majority of fans would've been happy if they just kept the same payoffs and kept the order of scenes the same way, i could genuinely be here all day if i wanted to explain all the ways starting in faraway absolutely DESTROYS the story. i can't help but think little-to-no thought was put into the manga overall. chapter 2 was fine and chapter 3 was alright but the damage chapter 1 did is way too much to repair it for me (with Omori being an especially impossible game to adapt to a different medium, they did NOT need to take these risks).

@@crackerlover9090 maybe it can take away from the emotional ambiguity, but I personally don’t feel that way. I think there’s already enough context clues in game to adequately determine how Mari feels about Sunny and everyone else, so I don’t think it’s a bad thing that we got to see her in some way. Also, Sunny didn’t see Mari at her grave. It’s kind of confusing, since ingame usually what the player sees is also exactly what Sunny sees. This time though, it’s just something for the player to see and react to, as indicated by Sunny and Aubrey not going like “Yo what the hell it’s Mari right there”. Thanks for the comment btw 🙏

@@Omori201X while that's true to a certain degree, i think that the whole "just let people enjoy a piece of media how they want to enjoy it" thing should stop being used as an excuse for people not understanding what the fuck is going on and utterly misinterpreting specific scenes and moments. if you're just blatantly wrong about something, sure you can enjoy it however you want. but... you're literally objectively wrong, so what are you even accomplishing in the first place. not only are you misinterpreting certain moments, you might also be misinterpreting key messages, themes, and narratives from the writer. if a writer makes a work of some sort with heartfelt, inspirational and important messages, and you decide to interpret that work as something utterly different... congratulations, you've just thrown away everything the author attempted to establish in favor of your own selfishness. you can interpret something however you want. but, when your interpretations start becoming objectively incorrect, i think it's time to step back and analyze the legitimacy of your interpretation and what all it might affect in a given space. i think that also goes hand-in-hand with defending your views if you get challenged. if you make a claim and someone challenges it in one way or another, you should get ready to defend it instead of just saying "i'm just enjoying it how i want to enjoy it leave me alone 😭". that's not how civilized discussions work.

I think calling your male best friend ‘comfortable, simple, modest, and perfect’ is a very gay thing to say especially in what is a conservatively religious town. As well as the ‘oh, but Sunny canonically has a crush on Aubrey thing’ being really infuriating to hear because…childhood crushes don’t last and if they do, chances are that’s single target sexuality.

honestly i'm not sure WHAT it is... alternate universe or otherwise. i saw someone say that this just feels like a fanfic, and i couldn't have said it better myself. however, i honestly think it's just a poorly made adaptation. there really wasn't even a need to tell a different story, 95% of fans probably would've been fine with an exact retelling of the story but in manga format, which is what i personally wanted. the events play out so fast to the point it not only doesn't make sense for an omori fan, but also doesn't make sense for a non-omori fan. a good adaptation should serve as an alternate way to experience a story... and it doesn't look so good for the omori manga so far.

i honestly suspect Omocat will separate the game and the manga into two separate canons since they are so different thus far, but the original game will always be the baseline for what's considered canon. just like the Lord of the Rings. you have Peter Jackson's adaptation, and the original work by Tolkien. original works should always be considered the baseline for what's canon and what's not, ESPECIALLY if it's not made EXPLICITLY clear that an original story and an adaptation are two separate canons and should be treated as such.

@@sansgaming607 I have been wondering if this is going to be a scott pilgrim takes off situation where we get completely thrown off course. I don't know how that would be possible but honestly given how off course we are on the story events right now I wouldn't bee to surprised at this point tbh.

That being said, being the story good, i hoped for the manga to "fix" all the problems of the game while maintaining the story the same... and like you said, it's shit. Pretty sad honestly.

A lot of the stuff you said is opinionated, which is totally fair, the game isn’t for everyone. But I do kinda agree on the pacing and the Mari murder stuff. The pacing is definitely the most complained part about the game, to which I’d agree. Narratively it makes sense but sometimes you need to remove certain aspects from a story to properly transfer it to a different medium (I.E. book to movie or game to manga). Some headspace sections happen at an extremely inconvenient time during the story; when something really interesting is happening. The Mari murder stuff is honestly pretty unrealistic… if they didn’t hide like 5 implications suggesting reasons why it’s more than plausible. It’s possible that Basil might have some sort of pre-existing depression, with his parents basically abandoning him, having no good friends, and only relying on his grandma to take care of him. Obviously, with the addition of Sunny and the gang, I’m sure he’d all but lose that sense of loneliness, but it’s not impossible for him to have had dark thoughts and even learned how to tie a noose from not only his possible depression, but also him being a gardener, needing to tie nooses to hang plants in certain situations. It’s also HEAVILY implied that Sunny’s parents knew that he killed Mari, which is why Sunny’s dad is nowhere to be found in the game (if you collect the last key in the true route you see Sunny’s dad chopping down a tree with a noose while saying “Stay away… you are not my son” which could be him confronting Sunny about Mari’s death or Sunny simply imagining how that interaction would go) and why Sunny’s mom seems extremely irresponsible with him, suggesting a lack of care for him (leaving him with literally one piece of raw steak to eat for three days and choosing to stay in town for a bargain on furniture rather than seeing her literal only son). Those two instances combined suggest that Sunny’s parents knew he killed Mari, but the reason why there was never an autopsy is probably because A: Sunny and his family are more than likely religious, and some religions refuse to let autopsies be done because of religious beliefs and B: because Sunny’s parents might’ve protected Sunny from the authorities (that's suggested during the truth sequence where you interact with Sunny's mom and she says "My only daughter... is gone. And you, are my only son. I can't... I can't loose you as well." While this can refer to her just wanting to generally keep her son safe, it can also refer to her worrying over the prospect of Sunny being taken away from them (which isn't realistic as he's 12 but me personally I wouldn't want to be known as someone who fathered a child who killed their sister). ALL that yapping combined might make the Mari murder segment seem a little more realistic... but all that can only be found out by examining the game EXTREMELY hard and finding small bits of dialogue and such. Maybe they should've implied it a bit better... Also, this isn't me getting angry at someone not enjoying a game I like... I just really enjoy conversating with people about the game, in pretty much any circumstance.

I will agree that i couldnt appreciate the story as much until i went to social media cause honestly although using an album to reveal the truth was smart It was still confusing and i didnt find out basil was even involved until i beat the game And honestly sometimes i wish they had something like paper mario the thousand year door where you can press a button and one of the partners will talk and give you a hint

Good point, that’s probably a good thing to include. Good job for finding that! Also, I actually never thought of the Basil’s bed Easter egg in that way- I just thought he thought it was comfortable because they’re best friends and have similar interests, but that’s a really good way to put it.

Oh yeah, and about the Basil’s headspace thing, Omocat once said something about Basil having his own headspace. I don’t remember if the wording was “if” he had his own headspace or “Basil’s own headspace” but basically the point of the quote was saying that Basil’s headspace would actually just be black space, since Basil never repressed anything and was always dealing with the trauma by himself. It’s a really cool but also really dark thing to think about, and also adds more credit to what you said.

@@sansgaming607 I just love it when games have small details like that. Especially when you have to pay attention to the smallest of things and interactions, that the average player isn't gonna notice. And also, now that you mention it, i do remember Omocat saying something about Basil's headspace (prob in one of her streams). But yeah, i agree. His headspace would most likely be something like black space.

@@Liberis_Kotsos Omori pretty much checks every box for the type of game I like, which includes small, missable details that you can read into and come up with major theories just off of one piece of dialogue. Insanely good game

I had seen the unused gender selection art before, but i never thought of male Aubrey/female Sunny like that. That pretty much proves there is something going on between them, even after the events of the game take place.
