John Deere 100 Series Truth - Is it the same in every store?
I love my 1025R!!
Thanks Brian. I was getting confused by trying to follow their different products and attachments instead of fllowing their battery models. I have the AP300s and various tools that they power.
Where is Gary and Burt? Are they long retired? I used to buy auto parts at Wolverine Lawn & Garden in Vicksburg .
You full of not knowing but ethanol does not bring water into your gas but removes water. , All alcholremoves water , that’s why we use it in race cars . We been using Alcohol in dragsters for many years , what do you thing Top Fuel dragster like John Forces mixes in with his fuel for his 300 mph dragsters.. alcohol left in lawn mower or blower or any small engine uses rubber in fuel lines that dissolve and that is what gums up carbs and even cause fuel ( rubber) hoses to dissolve and stop up. . Even Sta Bil additive to fuel when left in fuel tanks of blowers : chain saws or any type engines cause needle and seats in carbs to dissolve the cheap new needle ( that have rubber tips on the needle in carbs to stick . The best thing to prevent these problems is to disconnect or valve fuel supply off and let engine run till fuel bowl is empty and shuts off . We been doing it for outboard motors for many years but don’t do it and put your outboard motor and boat in the garage and not use it first fishing for say a month or two . Then you have trouble with stopped up carbs or injectors depending on the engine . Any new service station. That been around since 1971 when alcohol was added to fuel and lead free gas was all you got , the pumps will not pump if water gets in gas cause by law every p7mp has safety filters that shuts the pump down if a single drop of water gets into our 10000 gal underground tanks . So you can claim you bought gas that had water in it . Plus is smarter than most Car maker by knowing water settles to bottom of fuel tank and they put drain plugs like oil plugs in very bottom of fuel tanks just like diesel run three fuel filters to be inspected before every use by the driver on his DD form 2404 inspection sheet checking to see if water has gotten into fuel tanks and those are 55 gallon saddle tanks. . I am maintenance supervisor in military for ten states and if temperature is going below 32 degrees , since type diesel fuel is not everywhere , especially in the south , we add 10 gallon of reg unleaded gasoline into each 55 gal diesel fuel tank to keep the parafin in diesel fuel from gelling to stop our trucks from going to war . In gasoline vehicles we add methanol alcohol to remove water or. If lots show in spection in filters we drain off the water and some diesel fuel till we know no water .and we pull oil samples monthly to verify nothing in oil in the way of metal particles , if it did, we sent truck to CSMS shop first new motor or whatever
I always thought the curve were just for edges and finishing touches
Cristal clear explanation, thanks!
I have a 14 year old TroyBilt 29cc, 4 cycle , curved shaft trimmer. It does not lack power, but it is heavy, so it came with a shoulder harness. I am 6 ft tall and the length is fine for me.
I bought a used Stihl FS45C 12-15 years ago and still going strong. It came with precut head that use 8" trimmer line. I am tire of changing trimmer line and want to change to Autocut head. Does anyone has good recommend? Do I need to buy a bolt that hold new trimmer head? If yes, what is the size or part number?
How to reverse 😂
Thank, this did help.
Thanks 👍🏻
Gear induction? Does it add speed or torque. A buffer? Terrible info.
Im 5ft8 and the curved fs40 kills my back. Just bought a fs94 and the length of the strimmer is way better on my back plus the head is way better. I swapped the standard fs94 handle for the larger looped handle off my old fs40 and its even better. Id recommend a straight strimmer with an upgraded stihl loop handle if youre average height. Anyone over 5ft6 will have back problems with a curved using it for more than 5 minutes at a time. My friend has an fs91 but its too heavy for prolonged use and the fs94 is so light it's crazy. We don't use straps either because they get caught up in the van and make edging harder. Just loop handles so back friendly strimmers are a must.
I've seen also AS !!??
All this batteries and I do have 10 APs, they Still light years away for a professional use.
Get a Makita 36 volt or higher I’ve had mine for 5 years and it takes doesn’t 2 ft tall grass.
@@theMekanik My brother have 2 Makita chainsaws comparable to 2 Stihl ones I have. We tested and compare both brands side by side, the Stihl feels better. In my brother case the Makita is preferable but just because he use batteries in another tools to.

1115 Dix ave Hudson Falls New York 12839 The Place of Racism I went to this store with my friend today to buy Stihl Chainsaw Chain the price was 34$ and I told my friend that should we check amazon prices or buy from this store and he said lets buy from here then I realized that I forgot my wallet in car and was going to get wallet and I was going to get out store to get my wallet. During that time I heard the guy (I do not know his name) was asking from my neighbor That from where the f..khe is from? He should go back from where he came from and called me Towel Head and discriminated me by saying abusive words. And I went back to the counter and told him are you talking to me? How dare you? You are f..g a…e and being racist to me because I was so hurt and disappointed. It has been 6 years I live in this area and never treated this way. At the end they made me to leave the store. I called 911 and it is being investigated right now. I was so disappointed how I was treated at that store for no reason
Sitting in my yard right now is a JD 100 series from a Box Store in from around 2002, and a Craftsman from the same era, and it’s confusing to me that they are darn near identical, save the Craftsman has the same series of engien with 4 more hp.
Water is used to remove ethanol from gas because the two completely blend together.that should tell you all you need to know about not wanting that shit in your equipment
No more E free gas in canada.more government mandated sabotage
How good do they throw dirt?
I separate it myself. Buy 93 octane and mix 10% the volume of liquid your running and then siphon out the ethanol free fuel. A lot cheaper than paying 18$/gal !
Look, this is simple. If you're clearing 2 to 3 foot wide sidewalks the single stage is fine. But, if you have a 24 x 60 driveway and yoyr average yearly snow is 48 inches, the choice is obvious.
Ok this was pretty cute and hilarious 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
i’m broke but this was funny
Regular is fine just don’t leave it in the machine over the winter
Thank you for explaining. I like it. Well done 👍🙏
I always wanted a straight shaft trimmer because I'm too tall...BUUUTT... when I finally got a Stihl KombiSystem blower & straight shaft trimmer, I found out that the darned trimmer turns backwards from every trimmer I've ever owned!!!! I've been butchering my yard with it and throwing all kinds of groovy things into my legs and face---really fast too. I hate it, I absolutely HATE it! I've tried for 3 full seasons to get used to it and I give up. Heck, I tried walking backwards, I even tried cutting left handed---boy was THAT a disaster?!?! You guys love'em, y'all can have'em. I'm going to Lowe's and buying me a cheap trimmer that turns clockwise. The blower works great (when you get used to using an 18 foot long leaf blower!). Oh yeah, the whole reason I watched this vid was to see for sure which direction the Stihl trimmers turn.... and you didn't even mention it.
You okay man? Could you not just turn around and then walk forward? And you could just google the spin rotation thing btw, there are answers and forums out there, hell stihl even addresses this in their trimmers FAQ. Virtually all straight trimmers turn counter-clockwise, this is because of the gearbox, they reverse the direction. I believe there are some out there that use and idler gear to make it spin clockwise though. I think its just a pain to design them to fit an idler gear because of how limited of space they have to work with in the gearbox, that's just my best guess though. And as far as the trimmer throwing debris into your legs and face more than it should, that sounds like a guard problem maybe. I've never felt that way about it.
@@JoeBlow-ub1us No. But thanks for your sincere concern. I had a "minor" tendon repair surgery 7 years ago that went MAJORLY wrong. The "He has a great reputation" surgeon wound up cutting the nerve that controls my right foot! Had to shut down my business and go home. Have spent $thousand$ out of pocket buying corrective shoes, insoles, braces, etc. that don't help at all. One of my passions used to be my yard---all of it! I can barely walk around my yard...period. The grass is very lush and thick making it difficult to balance and walking around it with a weed eater now is MORE than a challenge! Even the spots that used to seem perfectly level, don't feel level anymore. So ANY bit of help I can garner, no matter how seemingly small is a very great help indeed. Thanks again for your concern but the problem now is as "solved" as it's going to get. Oh yeah, almost forgot this nugget. The counter lady at the closest Stihl dealer told me over the phone that ALL Stihl trimmers turn the same direction---that really helped things for a couple of weeks! I called another Stihl dealer across the river and saw told that they had, in stock, a curved-shaft trimmer for my Combicut system for about $69 bucks and that for certain it turned opposite from my straight shaft. I didn't have to change brands!
@@roygaisser9230 ah I see, yea that sucks. But yea I was just asking sincerely, not sure if you were being sarcastic or not. Either way, best of luck to you.
@@roygaisser9230 Please tell me you sued the doctor for his mistake so hopefully you don't have to work as much.
Buy a kobta then 😊
Another big thing is the cost of having a zero turn rather than a tractor - it is about $1200-$1500 difference. One must also consider that the speed of RTM can be a liability which could tear up your lawn when making turns. So when turning take your time. To me, it is all about money.
But whats your definition of long life? My understanding is that they aren't any different from other major brands in terms of lifespan. Hence part of the reason why I went with a older used model.
Th is mate very very helpful info
You explained this so well in 3 mins - much better than any german could have done. And I say that as a german. Go America!
You can tell this was done 2 yrs ago. It is 2023 and my JD showroom and backlot had no mowers to sell. I was soooo lucky someone canceled an order, and was able to get a new z530m. Would maybe have gone up to an R series if I had ordered it. It will be next spring before they deliver any mowers to customers
Hey Boomer. Were sorry to hear that! We have tons in stock this year!
You can stop 95% of your Line Welding, by Pulling the Line across a Block of Bee’s Wax.
What John Deere doesn't tell you is that the deck is only under warranty for one year, then you're on your own. That's basically one season. I had the rivets pull out of the belt tensioner on the 60" deck on a 1025R and John Deere doesn't warranty it. It's just 17 months old. Be sure to let customers know the truth about the decks.
Shit doesn't make a difference
Will a lawn tractor last longer thing a zero turn
With good maintenance itd be about the same. Tryin get one with a good Kawasaki or kohler engine. The transmission on both are generally sealed and considered the weak point. Keep your oil changed, blades sharp and change belts periodically and theyll last you a good many years. Oh,and clean the grass off after each use. My sister uses a john deere l110 from 2003,and it's got over 1100hours on it. The tires have tubes because of dryrot and she did have to replace the hood once because the hinge had broken
Wouldn't own a curved shaft !!
Great information
Stand on
Zero turn hands down. Tractors steering is total rubbish and expensive to maintain. Too many moving parts.
Driven both… zero turns suck on hills and are downright scary if you are near a hazard like water or steep berms. So no, tractors aren’t rubbish and they definitely have a place on hilly terrain.
Take the place of two not three 72's, and put a cab, air conditioner , FM radio and sell for 40 grand, then I might be interested. This thing is way too expensive.
Thanks Brian. Very helpful.
I bought a Zero turn mower for my yard which has hilly areas and it is scary. Did you notice that they have seat belts where the lawn tractor doesn't? That's because when you are on a steep hill, your butt tends to slide downhill and since you are not holding on to a fixed steering wheel you are helpless without that seat belt because your hands cannot move off of the control sticks. Also, my neighbors all use a service that uses zero turns and they all have deep ruts around their shrubbery on the hillsides from the rear wheels. If I had a lot of flat ground with no hills and didn't need to use a trailer and other equipment I would go for the zero turn. But for all-around yard work as a homeowner where time is not a factor, I would buy the lawn tractor as it is the most comfortable and user-friendly since we all drive cars and trucks.
This is absolutely incorrect. Ethanol is less corrosive than gasoline. I know there is a ton of misinformation out there saying ethanol causes engine problems, but there is no science to back up those claims. Any mechanic that claims ethanol is the cause of any engine problem is either too lazy to find an actual cause, or does not want to share the actual cause and get away with just blaming fuel to make an easy sale. Do some research, look a credible scientific sources and you will learn that ethanol does not cause any of the problems this guy just lied about.
Do you have any link or where to see the proof? I’m curious.
It's water mixing with the ethanol that is a problem
Just washed your video about "bad gas"...... What's the rating on ethanol free gas? According to the list from the link provided, my area only shows no higher than 87 and those gas stations clearly state on the pump, 10% ethanol. Am I missing something?

Great info especially with showing comparisons and contrasts... And done without reading a script..
