Simply made art instruction videos. Nothing flashy, lessons just as I would teach them to my high school students. I have also included progress slides from my painting and drawing commissions.

Learning as I go and making a lot of mistakes, but art IS problem-solving!

Shout out to the Woolery for the cool roving. www.woolery.com Also, it's ROVING, not fleece. 🙄 I keep calling it by the wrong name.
Part 4 One-point Perspective: openings
มุมมอง 236ปีที่แล้ว
On this video, I teach you how to create openings in your one-point perspective forms, and that even art teachers can make mistakes!
Part 3 One-Point Perspective: split forms
มุมมอง 265ปีที่แล้ว
In this video, I show how to split forms in one-point perspective. This will add some interest to your drawing. Disclaimer #1- My camera tends to distort some vertical lines. Make sure your vertical lines are at a 90 degree angle to the bottom of the paper. Disclaimer #2- No animals were harmed in the making of this video. (My dog pitches a fit when someone comes to the door. Sorry.)
Part 2 One-point perspective basics: Various forms
มุมมอง 302ปีที่แล้ว
In Part 2, I show you how to create a variety of forms in one-point perspective, including triangles, circles, stars, and unusual forms. Please watch Part 1 before attempting the other videos.
One Point Perspective Drawing Part 1: The Basics
มุมมอง 478ปีที่แล้ว
One point Perspective Drawing Part 1: The Basics This is the beginning of a series on how to draw in one point perspective. The other videos can be done out of order, but this one is essential to the rest of the series. This is VERY basic and intended to be used as a starting point.
Continuous line drawing
มุมมอง 7582 ปีที่แล้ว
Demonstrations of drawing objects using continuous contour line drawing technique. Fun and relaxing. Upon viewing, I realize that when drawing the keys, I was drawing right to left, thus covering the drawing with my hand. Sorry!!! This is still a learning curve for me. I drew the 2nd object left to right.

Wow, Diane. Nice! I'd love to see the framed final finish.
@@sabrinawood3885 lol, finished and sitting in the closet. I just put away the beads for a while and pulled out the felting again. Will send you some pics.
Very good
Thanks
Don’t stop please ur very good in explaining
Thank you!
Just amazing. Thank you so much
@User123-b4n thank you. Glad to help.
Hello Diane, I am a total novice to the 2 point perspective. I have watched several videos on this and I have to say that your video is most instructive for people like me. I really appreciate your thorough explanation of every step. Thank you.
@@malgozata1875 Happy to help!
I see that this video is 7 yrs old so I’m not sure you will even see this but I searched how to draw a room in 2 point perspective. I watched at least 6 or 7 that were totally silent (except for the poor music selections). I was starting to think I had a defect. But with you actually explaining things it seemed so obvious and easy. Thank you so much. I just wanted to draw my craft room to check the furniture placement and get a better idea of whether or not it would be what I wanted. Long story short, thank you. Your video was perfect. I have enough confidence to give it another shot. Lol. Thanks again. ❤
@reneelav7 thank you so much!!! I had started this channel for my high school students. I retired 6 years ago, but still add videos from time to time. So glad it helped. Thanks again!!
First time watching & I so appreciate your teaching ability it makes aworld if difference. I am an Early Childhood Educator who thrives on clear explanations just like the "littles" do. Lol.
Thank you so much! I taught high school art for 35 years before retiring. High schoolers aren't much different than the littles! Glad you enjoyed it.
Can you make a video on how to make scenery by perspective points
One of my videos, how to draw a room in 2 point perspective, may help, or how to draw a house in 2 point perspective. Are you thinking outdoor scenery, such as a landscape? If so, the same rules apply, just not as strict (for example, no ruler). The horizon line is your eye level, like the "divider" between sky and ground, if that helps.
Your videos are very nice
Thanks. Not fancy, but they work. 😁
@@dianewoodsartlessonchannel2229 yes
How do you know where the VP lines go.
Not quite sure what you are asking. The line first drawn is the horizon line, which is at your eye level. As for the vanishing points, they are, in this case, at each end of the horizon line. All lines that are not vertical, with the exception of a select few diagonals, end at the point. If you are asking how to tell to which vanishing point to draw the line, use your visual judgement. If you draw your line to a vanishing point and it doesn't look right, try the other one. Hope that helped.
did my homework thank you
Happy to help!
Thank you, thank you, thank you, you made this sooooo very understandable, not a big fan of perspective, and I am glad I can hear your voice giving instructions instead of annoying music, again thank you.
Lol, thanks. I once had someone comment that I talked too much when teaching. Um...
No way you talk to much, no unknown reason for that
Probably a high schooler whose teacher made them watch it.
hamburger sauce
Excellent, I will be attempting this later. Clearly explained. 😊
Thank you! I hope you have success with it!
So helpful. Thanks for sharing.
You are so welcome!
Very helpful. I had to laugh, my dog was sleeping on the floor beside me when your's barked; of course, he jumped and was so startled till I muted the video! Looking forward to your other videos and thanks for sharing.
Too funny!!!
Really helpful, thank you.
You're welcome!
I like both, especially the first one. This is exactly what I have wanted; to see the entire drawing. Thank you, most helpful.
Glad you enjoyed it.

Obrigado por compartilhar o seu conhecimento 🎉
You are welcome. Do you live in Portugal?
Nice sketch
"You're training your eye to find those edges" . . . of all the demos and "tutorials" I've watched about how to develop continuous or contour line drawing, yours is the first I've seen that actually begins by talking about how and where you can start when considering what to draw and then how to proceed. Well done . . . I know that should be an obvious starting point (no pun tended) for any tutorial, but hardly anyone seems to cover this mental and imagination-based aspect of the process. Extremely useful. 100% thumbs up and bell rung.
Wow! You just made my day. Many people don't realize the mental process, or the fact that there is instruction present in executiog a drawing technique. Thank you for your kind words.
Your two videos on perspective were beyond excellent. Please, do more of these!!
Thanks. I recently did 4 videos on 1 point perspective. Check them out.
Thank you. Exactly what I need. Clear, concise and clean.
Thank you for the kind words. Glad to help.
Definitely a great well explained video. Well done
Thank you!
hey i have a exam in about a week and its on one and 2 point perspective, prior to this i have veey little practice. What do you recommend me to do right now and which videos of you should i whtch and practice. Thanks in advance!
Concerning one-point perspective, start with Part 1 of my one point perspective videos and continue through Part 4. They will teach you the basics. As for 2 point, I would look around to find a beginner video. Unfortunately, I haven't got one on my channel yet. The room and house videos were a lesson for my second year students. Also, since it's an exam, I am guessing you already have an idea of what the teacher will ask you to do. Practice that. Good luck- let me know how it goes.
school any1? even now lol
Please explain. I'm confused by your comment.
@@dianewoodsartlessonchannel2229 90% of art classes in scotland are being recommended this video
@@lawyerdawg Lol. I'm not sure that is true, but glad someone is watching. Are you in Scotland?
@@lawyerdawg wait! I just saw that you commented 2 years ago! 🤣
Oh, this is awesome! I learned felting really recently and have fallen in love with it since. I'm primarily a 2D artist, but I love doing 3D pieces with felting. I've made a few felted dolls with wire armatures (although none of them are complete yet!)
I haven't tried anything 3D yet. I did order some new roving, and hope to create some 2D pieces. It is definitely addictive!
Diane, I love your content <3333
Thank you.
Have you ever used the string, tacs etc. when doing your 2 point perspective pieces?
No. I have seen it done, and it's pretty cool. My high schoolers would hate having the tack holes in their paper, lol.
Quick correction: I stated that I was using fleece, but the correct term is "roving. " Sorry- it's been a while.
cool now i know how to draw 3D house
Glad to help.
Thank you so much.
You are welcome. Hope it helped!
You are doing a great job, I am fond of that art so I have started to learn ! I have seen other videos but yours one is good because you explain "if and but" about method you carrying out to draw any scene or object.
Thank you for your kind words!
Once again, your explanations were very clear, and adding the openings made so much sense. Thank you!
Thank you so much! I hope you get a chance to look at the other videos as well.
Another informative video. I wish I had had you as an art teacher in school! I am looking forward to trying Part 4. Thanks!
Thank you! I hope you're having fun with this.
Your explanations made so much sense. By the time I got to the star, I could figure out what to do on my own. Thank you!
Oh good! It's called "sequential learning." You progress based on what you've learned previously. A fancy term for something that just makes sense, lol.
This video was very informative. I have not seen stacking and overlapping so well explained before. I am looking forward to the rest of the series. Thank you!
Thank you! I get discouraged sometimes because of my lack of experience in creating videos, so I appreciate the encouragement.
Thank you so much You saved me from failing the exam💗🤍
You're welcome! Very happy to help!

@@dianewoodsartlessonchannel2229 Hello, Diane, I'm 20yrs (Since 2000) out of perspective practice, I'm 40 now but decided to get back into as a hobby again. What exercises, sources, would you recommend for perspective drawing?
I love this tutorial
Thank you!

Thank you, I learnt a lot from you in this video. I really do struggle with perspective. Now I will practise this method.
