LAGU PENAN : KAO NA'ANT INEU? (YOU SEE WHAT?)
I ask you, do you cry when a tree falls?
I ask you, can you understand what problems we have when you look at this image?
I remember, when we made this image, my friend said “when people see this they will think I am the enemy.”
I said, “don’t be scared my friend.”
But maybe my friend speaks the truth.
In the past, we could look at the chainsaw and understand that it’s because of this that we don’t have the rainforest.
When we look, can we understand?
Maybe you understand that my friend only takes one tree.
Maybe you understand that my friend uses the wood to build a new home.
And then maybe you understand my friend wants to build a new house high up because the village was destroyed by the flooding river.
And then maybe you understand because the “companies” took too many trees before, now we have climate change. And every year we have many monsoons that bring floods.
Maybe you can look at an image, but you can’t understand the whole story within.
But, I cry when a tree falls.

My prayers are with you and your people. I've been in America my entire life and I can tell you this way of life has also been destroyed by the big business and the rich, who just continue to take, take take. They continue to destroy everyone and everything in their path so they can continue to make more and more worthless money. I'm a 35 year old married woman who refuses to have children due to the horrific country/world we live in and the way I see it things have gotten so bad all we can do is Pray that God has mercy on us.
