Escape transmission sucks. If your Over drive Is off; from first gear it will shift to over drive gear after reaching 80kph, thats why you can hear its rpm suddenly dropped from high rpm. Escape driver just sucked at this.
Just turn it the fuck off. That IS an option.

Good grief, took you long enough lol. Most of those escapes are slow too. You had to be in a 4.8, or whatever that really small V8 is. Probably a 5.3, who knows.
4 cyls are slow, for fuel economy. V6 DOHC Duratechs are bad ass. I own one.

Agreed, I have a brand new 2012 (only 800 miles on it so far this date) and the thing kicks ass for a 3500lb. vehicle with 240 hp. and that 6 speed auto ! Mine a FWD version....
