Great Bird Point & Other Finds
A perfect bird point, an Adena base, and what I believe is a small blade… that and numerous pretty flakes were what came out of my first couple hunts this year. I expect good things for the future, and I’ll be making videos as often as I find enough points! Thank you for watching!

I've Never Found One Like This...

My first point of 2022, and a darn good one, too. Because of the fine and intricate pressure flaking throughout, and the strait, thin base, I believe this is a shallow-side notched point. Beautiful Flint Ridge material. Thank goodness for some sunlight, a free afternoon and bare soil! Thank you for watching, I really appreciate it.

Found this slate gorget in a field in central Ohio... I was beyond surprised to find it. If only it was in one piece!
So did you find the two halves on the same day? If not how far apart were they when you eventually found the second part?
June 20, 2021 was the day and yes, both parts were found within 30 feet of each other (maybe 3-4 corn rows over and slightly up/ down hill from each other). It didn't occur to me that the other half could have been out there, as I'm sure you've experienced finding broken halves doesn't really happen. But sure enough, about 30 minutes later half #2 was discovered. Putting the 2 pieces together was incredible and hard to believe! Thanks for commenting! Nice channel yourself 😎
@@rcpoutdoors374 thanks man. I think my heart would be pounding when I found the first half but find the second half. I might need something to calm me down. That’s an amazing fine. We are finding some pretty good stuff on our digs and hoping to come out with another couple soon.

Looks like the tilling method used by the farmer tills the ground very thoroughly but at the same time snaps those points into pieces. Unfortunate but probably necessary to grow that type of crop. 😢
I know it, they seem to till it like crazy or take a few years off for no till. Either way it makes hunting difficult! Heartbreakers are terrible but I'll still take 'em. Thanks for the comment 😎

Them are some pretty cool points. Idk where your located but I live and hunt in Arkansas, I find some pretty nice points myself. If you live near a creek and there is a muddy bank that’s kinda sorta caving off on the side. Go and hunt there, you will for sure find something. If there ain’t a bank I would also recommend possibly finding a small area around there to dig and you will find lots of good ones. Digging is most definitely your best bet. If you’d like to check out some of my points it would be greatly appreciated 🙃

It’s hard to find points in the creeks in my neck of the woods but I occasionally get lucky in the creeks though, the majority of them aren’t holding artifacts but I found two creeks in the past few years that are loaded, one in particular where I’ve found 3 drilled pieces, I believe it was a village site but I found my first arrowhead 28 years ago on a river bank, kinda on the lake bottom when the water levels subside in the winter months and that’s where I’ve found 80 percent of my collection, I have one cornfield I walk that’s right on the river that is loaded with artifacts but it’s so far I’m not able to make it up there often, haven’t been at all this year but hopefully soon, I just subbed both you guys and look forward to checking out y’all’s content, nice finds btw buddy, I find alot of birdies myself in the winter months, I make arrowhead hunting videos too if y’all want to check them out, I do have a few nice finds , I walked from my house last year and found a little feeder creek that is loaded with native pottery and I ended finding a steatite ornamental piece, people have told me it’s possibly like a ear gage or a lip piece a native would have worn, been trying to get back into making fishing videos too but I really need to get me a GoPro, anyway I’ll be watching y’all’s videos and tagging along, I wish you both much luck, God Bless & GL&HH!

It’s the base of a paddle drill, nice material. They were doing some serious drilling right in that area.

Very nice hafted scraper! What material is that, hard to tell from the video.
I think it's made of Delaware Chert, fairly local to where I hunt. Thanks for the comment!
@@rcpoutdoors374 Cool, I find artifacts Made from Pipe Creak chert which I believe is similar to Delaware. Very boring if I must say compared to FR or Upper Mercer. Still a great find though!

I'm sorry you didn't like it, I mean it. My next video includes several drills I found, and I guarantee it will be more interesting. I love making these videos, but it's hard to find even the broke ones. Hopefully you'll check out the next one and find it enjoyable!
Be more truthful in the title, shorten time spent on the so so ones. You always find 10 broke to one good. Its's ok to show them but spend less time on them. I will look at part 2. Thanks for responding. @@rcpoutdoors374

@@rcpoutdoors374 yes, I have one partial blade that is two peices that is the only serrated artifact I have found, and the serrations are really only on one side.
