A Day of Low-Waste Errands: how I compost, recycle, and shop
มุมมอง 2K5 ปีที่แล้ว
Last Tuesday I got ambitious and decided to film what I do on a typical "errands day", meaning I don't have to work but I do have lots of stuff to check off my to-do list. Just know that I spent the Monday before this reading an entire book in bed, so not everyday is this eventful or involves me walking anywhere. Wanna see more from me: livingwastefree
Everything I Bought Since Moving
มุมมอง 1.9K5 ปีที่แล้ว
Today I went through and took a look at all the items (both new and secondhand) that I have bought in the last 2 months since I moved to New Zealand. This list doesn't include spending money on rent/utilities or food and intangible items like activities. These are just the items I bought and am now responsible for. How I Define Zero Waste Success & Stay Positive
มุมมอง 1.3K5 ปีที่แล้ว
I haven't posted a sit down, chatty video is SO long. And I think it is well overdue, especially given that I now can upload a video on this good New Zealand internet significantly faster than I ever could in Aus. So if you want to hear me talk about how proud I am of all the little things I accomplish on the reg, you've come to the right place!
A Weekend Away: Picton, NZ
มุมมอง 1.1K5 ปีที่แล้ว
I'm finally back to posting videos! I had some computer problems earlier this year which made editing almost impossible, but now that I have that all resolved I am excited to start filming more cool travel, low-waste, and conscious living content for you. Starting with a little vlog from my birthday earlier this month. Hope you enjoy!
What I Still Throw Away: Trash Audit 2019
มุมมอง 3.4K5 ปีที่แล้ว
Today I'm taking you through my main trash can (aka a Doritos bag) and showing you what I've thrown away the last 2 months. This isn't every piece of trash I've produced and this doesn't even begin to touch on what I recycle, but it was an interesting look into the type of disposable items I choose to consume, and has helped me realized areas in my life I can still improve upon. Does Zero Waste Living Save Money//LivingWasteFree
มุมมอง 2.4K5 ปีที่แล้ว
Today I am chatting all about zero waste living and spending money, specifically about whether or not living this was saves money when so many sustainable products seem to cost so much. This is mainly just a ramble because I couldn't get these thoughts out f my head so I wanted to blurt them out on camera.

I really enjoyed your videos, and it would be nice if you someday decided to make more!
Vegans, stop conflating your ED with zero/ low waste lifestyle.
Holy crap, those grocery prices are insanely expensive!
Miss your videos, hope your doing well ❤ would love to follow you on any socials you have!
Great video! I think I will start a worm bed!
Zero waste needs to be more mainstream and adopted by everyone. Thanks for sharing!!
I really liked this video. I like the idea of loving something but recognizing you just don't need it anymore!
Thanks for the video, it was very informative. Please don't let anyone bully you into being a vegan. You are entitled to eat whatever you want. Blessings.
I am getting these for an Xmas gift so hopefully they won’t make my hair feel gummy or greasy. Crossing fingers. I make my own bar soap for my body. I have to switch from bar shampoo to regular shampoo pouring apple cider vinegar over your head will make your hair fall out eventually because it is so acidic so beware. It is not a conditioner but you are chelating your hair ( stripping it).
As per usual for eco friendly life thank you
Miss seeing you. I hope you're ok. ❤
CSA? How do I find a farm like this and do they deliver? Or u pick up?
Thanks
You don’t have to be vegan to be zero waste. You can literally just burry the remains of the animal after eating it. It’s natural.
my spf is 10000000000, i keep wearing long clothes ajjaj
Thank you for sharing!
wish there were more stores like this where i live
Pretty expensive prices lol
I currently use a syndet shampoo bar and want to switch to a cold process shampoo bar. Did you have any issues when starting to use the shampoo bars? My hair always felt gross and I have hard water as well. Thanks
കേരളത്തിൽ ഒരു പ്ലാസ്റ്റിക് ഇല്ലാത്ത ഗ്രോസറി സ്റ്റോർ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നെങ്കിൽ....😌
Great. I like it.
This is how to help the planet. Reuse is far more important than recycle. In fact, for things like plastic, recycling is a fantasy tale.
👍👍👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🇲🇦
I know you haven’t been posting recently but I’m wondering what you do with the compost? Sooo curious

It felt good just watching this
This store looks amazing
That was an idea I had in elementary school 35 years ago in a school contest... but obviously judges thought brands would reject it because what they really sell are the containers, colors, image and design, a life style ...not a healthy and tasty product.
Thanks to covid,im sure this store does not operate like this anymore,if its still around
Your eyes are so far apart
Wow- your veggies and fruits are a bit pricey! Our stores don’t have as much variety as yours- mostly nuts and snack foods for us. Thanks for sharing
Inspiring! Thank u! I understand the need to take ur time to let them go…
In the meanwhile here in the civilized world. The city takjes care of. Designated bins in wich everyone thŕows their compostable waist and of you go.
Do those oils clog up your pores?
I will try this next time. I just did some jars with soaking in hot water and then using a Magic Eraser to remove glue residue. Worked.
Ditch the DAIRY CREAM. Try Oat milk (Oatly), Coconut Cream, or cashew cream.
Plastic free is great ! But ,that's as long as no one's touching those with dirty hands !! Which I've observed often ! People come in to stores like Whole foods in their yoga & gym outfits after worked out in those dirty gyms & places sweatting & then go to bathroom & come out without washing their hands & dig in their hands in those dry nuts & dried fruits & munch on 'em before paying !! Ewww. Also living in America ,you really can't trust others sadly ...all those contamination issues & poisoning things !!! It almost happens only in the U.S. !! Lol. Americans usually don't wash their hands enough ! Sorry ! But ,maybe after the covid is a bit different !? But ,still can't trust those !! It's almost like those mints at restaurants ! People dig in their unwashed hands in & spreading germs !! Men often don't wash their hands after going to bathrooms at restaurants ,etc., in the U.S.& dig their hands in those candy bowls at restaurant's reception desks !!! 😖
Woooww indomie 😍
I love this girl... Living waste-free while taking her car everywhere...
Awesome channel! I recently started my own channel on sustainability and intentional living ❤️
That store is awesome!
I was a video production major in college in CT several years ago and a lot of shows including Rachel Ray filmed near my school so a lot of people I knew did internships on the shows and everybody that worked for Rachel Ray said that she was an absolute b*tch. I stopped liking her after I found out that she wasn't nice when the cameras were off. It was so disappointing because people had good things to say about some of the people from other shows but I've only heard it more and more that she's not nice and a total diva.
I know this video is old, but Trader Joe's sells inexpensive good skin cream in a metal tube. It's a good way to sustain a low waste lifestyle without breaking the bank in this department.
I wish you were still making videos.
The chaos in the silverware drawer etc. would drive me nuts lol I thoroughly organize the kitchen regularly to make sure everything stays organized for this reason.
just wondering if you will come back and make more videos? I really think 2021 needs your content on youtube. I have been following many MANY zero waste people on youtube for years and you have a more unique way of looking at things.
Here in Canada we have a store called bulk barn and it is amazing to get almost anything package free.. the whole point is the stores in general make the trash so we the shoppers do not have to :)
going zero waste / low waste almost 3 years ago has saved me thousands of dollars a year :) a shampoo bar here in quebec canada is only 2.50 canadian dollars, we have a bulk barn store here that sells almost everything package free... the only few things i found expensive was if you buy regular flour and regular white sugar package free is way to expensive so i just buy the 50 pound bag in paper. from almost only shopping 2nd hand to using the flash food app for cheap foods.. its been amazing
it seems almost all the zero waste people I follow do the same thing...get into it... go crazy and get obsessed... then give up and make a video like this. the whole point of this movement that the planet so desperately needs is to do the best you can with what you have access to.
i had to pause the video because i was cracking up at the "spiders" LOL i am insanely terrified of them as well and in Australia they are HUGE
