I’m not a member of the LDS community, but am a pianist at my church. The organist recently quit and my pastor asked if I’d consider playing it. So I’m going to go for it. The regular pianist has played the organ here and there over the years, but has just faked it and sounded pretty good. She showed me some tips on our church’s organ, and she basically told me most of what you mentioned. But your explanation was clearer. Thanks so much!

Thank you for this! We don't have an organist in our ward, so we have 3-4 pianists called to play in sacrament meeting. I've been wondering for awhile if I should try the organ and this is a great starting point.
