I teach from my home studio both online and in person, and wanted to start creating videos that my students could benefit from outside of their lessons.
I post a study piece every Saturday based on concepts and guitarists that come up in my lessons, along with other videos like covers and fingerstyle arrangements from my practice routine.

5 Shred Licks Inspired By Rocky George
I've been going through a load of Suicidal Tendencies with a student recently and really getting back into Rocky George's playing. A pretty unique shredder with an atmospheric and moody style perfect for ST.
Here are five licks inspired by his playing, if you haven't already I strongly urge you to go check out albums like "Lights, Camera, Revolution" and "How Will I Laugh Tomorrow" chock full of great tracks, riffs and solos.

A student turned up wanting to work on this masterpiece solo from Pantera's Floods recently. I've never fully learned it myself because of dealing with awkward tuning but I thought now is the time. My student is only just 16 and is playing most of this with such confidence and style, so proud of him. if i can suggest something for the tone, turn up the gain and the bass frequencies and you should be ok
This is way higher gain than I usually play with, hard to hit Dimebag levels with my gear! But yes, more bass would be nice, I'm recording through a little practice amp here so sadly hard to get that low end in!

@@mr.chitarra yea that'll be the lack of bass response! This was like 11 at night so firing up a bigger amp was not an option!
