The last part is so far the only real fitting description he gave, but it's not a theory, it's something passed down from high priests of Egypt to Solon and beside the information about atlantis (the name atlantis is given by plato because of the geography and the ancient greek names of places at that time) the priest also give us information about Athens that Athens was the most noble, most powerful and righteous kingdom that fought against atlantis and where victorious, but a disaster took place that ended up destroying both the athenian and the atlantea civilizations and almost completely wiping them out, the only people left alive were the ones who lived atop mountains. Now if you look at the time line they give they say 9000 years or so and everyone thinks it's solar years and thus putting back into 9.500 bce but there is a large possibility that the years were lunar and thus would put the timeline around 1200-1300bce which are part of the dark ages of Hellenism(one of them). But again the research itself is very lacking to say the least. It would take a lot of archeologists and historians and greek philologists especially to study all the ancient greek texts surrounding the subject and the putting all the information together, who is gonna pay for all of that? Most people just go at it on their own, the ones who don't even dwell into the ancient greek language, let alone the moder greek, then they are just wasting time as the information you will get online and from credible sources you would think, actually don't give any credible information on the subject. Thankfully I am quite fluent in moder greek and I dwell a little into ancient greek as it's majority the same but with a bit different structure and certain words that are being used in different circumstances but for the same things ect. So the only way I could find credible information was directly from greek philologists who are proficient in ancient greek and the different uses of words during different times. Quite a few books exist on this subject in the greek language and even recently some of such people became even well known online because they are well spoken and beside the pleasant appearance they have a pleasant voice as well, and some are even very charismatic, so the real old texts in their original form and then directly interpreted by the specialists themselves while explaining what is being said, how do we know it's that and not something else and then to the next until the whole story is explained in a matter of a few hours in a way that makes it easy to understand, and with it available is always the ability to purchase books that have more dedicated information and details on the whole subject with all the explanation and (if) necessary citations. But the described story itself gives us a lot of information even including the American continent showing how there was knowledge of the continent beyond the Atlantic Ocean as well as travels made back and forth.

This was a very enjoyable documentary! I think they have proven now that the tsunamis, more than one, were over 100' (30.5 meters) tall when they hit Crete. They can tell by how far up the mountains there is debris and fallout. There is also a high wall of volcanic ash on that side of Crete. I'm glad to see you agree that Thera (Santorini) was most likely the beginning of the myth about Atlantis. People keep looking in other places, but it perfectly fits the description and makes sense for that to be what the myth was based on. It also had the port that was concentric circles, although other places had that too. The frescoes on Santorini are the true ones, but many on Crete are mostly fake, made by workers of Arthur Evans so they would keep getting funding to continue digging there. It's a fascinating topic.
