Is there anywhere to be dropped off near the mayflower terminal? Also please could someone explain to me how the paid food works as i try booking the glass house before I leave and its £10 per person but the menu is cheap....£4 for a steak
From my understanding (not been to the restaurant, just from what I have read) it's a £10 cover charge to eat there, so you pay £10 to eat, but some dishes (eg the steak) cost an additional surcharge hence the £4 Again, I think, best seeing if you can ask P&O on their website
I'm sure this is a very good video, but I gave up soon into it due to the hideous muzak. Believe it or not, it's quite possible to produce one without it.
Yes that’s a fair point. To be fair when I was filming I was with others who obviously would be having a conversation, and also at times we were around music being played at the establishment which obviously isn’t allowed on TH-cam, so it had to be done I’m afraid.
Me and my family went on Ventura November and I loved it ,food was excellent.The only thing I thought was lacking were the amount of things to do on sea days unless you are a dancer which me and my wife are not . Could have been a bit more variation. But we are booking another cruise on Ventura soon .
I go on my first cruise February March Carribbean iam 90 just hope i get allocated a decent cabin looks ok

Me and my wife just came back from being on the ventura talk about low standards, a day before we were to to leave there was an out break of diahorea and sickness so the whole ship needed a complete deep clean so we heard so the trip was delayed thats the 1st problem. From then it went from bad to worse. On the second day of the trip the cabin cleaner had cleaned the cabin and left a green rag on top of my wifes Ted baker wash bag and my face cloth this cloth looked like it had human shit on it which was used to clean the toilet, we had a right complain to the cleaner and Aniekh Sheikh who was in charge of the cleaners on rivierra deck he tried to say the cloth was used on the mirrors in the bath room my face cloth had to be thrown away to avoid contamination so my wife made a formal complaint wanting compensation all she got was £100 pounds which wasnt acceptable by any standards, me and my wife heard as well that there was 2 people isolated in there cabin due to diahorrea and sickness.. The same night all that happened to me and my wife we changed rooms and my wife fell ill probably with noro virus the next day my wife had to isolate for 24 hrs so we lost out on our trip to La palma. There was brown water coming out of the toilets taps we were drinking water from then i fell ill, other passengers even had the same problem with there water as well these peoples cabin completely flooded ruining there clothes there cases and all they got was an 80 pound compensation these people even said there tap water was dirty brown as well, i told the deck manager called Casper he tried to say the water was clean, so i told my wife lets get bottled water to drink as were not taking any more risks, this dirty water was probably the reason why people were coming down ill? To say we had a happy holiday is an understatement there was an over crowding of people, me and my wife walked around the ship for an hour and half trying to get a drink from 1 of the bars every seat was full up, there was absolutely crap entertainment, the shops were crappy and over priced, 1 waiter in the the glass house restaurant was absolutely rude to me so i said to my wife lets avoid this restaurant, there is so many faults about this ship, its out dated needs decommissioning not a refurbishment. I was talking to 1 passenger and he said the ship was full to capacity and the ships crew couldnt manage it, He said the ship was meant to have 3000 passengers so it was over capacity and p@o also advertised tickets for 99p for childrens tickets for them to come aboard which also made it over crowded and hectic with screaming kids running about every where couldnt use the swimming pools because kids were always in there when they should have been in school, this was me and my wifes 1st and last cruise with p@0 it was absolutely shocking, also every bar on the ship was full of drinkers every night also with old people so i nicknamed the ship pissheads@oldies (P@O) They said the Titanic was the ship of dreams well the Ventura is the ship of nightmares with out a doubt so my advice is avoid P@O me and my wife had a trip booked on the Iona to the Norwegian Fjords in 2025 were cancelling this now and are sticking to flying to places screw going on anymore cruises its like marmite you either like it or hate it we definitely 100% hate it...
Hi the main thing that gave me alarm bells on this video was the theatre tbh . It looked very cramped and uncomfortable to loosen up and enjoy yourself in there with everyone sat in a line watching the entertainment . Is there more options where a group can gather round tables to watch entertainment etc ? I don’t fancy sitting like that at all .
Hi thanks for upload been on Ventura 3 times but not since the pandemic do they still do a 60s/70s and Hawaiian theme nights.
A nicely put together review and an accurate reflection of the ship we have just got off Ventura we had a a great time lovely ship..well done

I'm going on this cruise ship to Spain and Portugal in August 2025. I went on Iona earlier this year. Was there much vegan food by the way?
Have been on ventura Feb, very poor for vegetarians,or people who can't eat spices due to medical needs kept having to ask for food menu from main restaurant to order from .P&0 need to address this with services in buffet,
I think other passenger’s behaviour has a big effect on cruise enjoyment.
Very true, I agree with that. It all depends on who else is on board. However the ship is quite big so you can always find spots to enjoy yourself regardless too :-)

Hello, sorry for the late reply.. the food in the main restaurants what we had was very good, no complaints at all though we have seen other people say they were disappointed. We liked it :)

thanks for this video, Im going on my first cruise , its P&O ventura to spain/france, end of september. £699 each person. hopefully its ok :) is pizza free at the pizza place by the pool?
You’re welcome, thank you for the nice comment! Yes the pizza/chips/burger area next to the pool is included. He warned though there’s always a big queue 😂
@@GoingWithDan ah im so excited ! Do you think theres any point getting the soft drinks package ? I would rather have a few alcoholic drinks / squash / water / tea / coffee. Im not too bothered about fizzy drinks.
@@VIDEOZ1NFECTION we got the drinks package ourselves which included alcohol drinks which was £280 when we worked it out at the end we would have spent roughly £430 so it was worth it for us.
We have been on all the p and o ships, how lucky are we. They are all great and they do vary from ship to ship . Our favourite is Ventura. We came across a passenger on Arvia, who said she didnt like it, because of some of the passengers they had on board ...... you couldn't make it up !!!!
Hi, thanks for the video :) Could you say what the background 'ambience' music was like on Ventura? Just been on a Princess cruise and there is pop music everywhere... was starting to go slightly nuts. We have choice between Ventura and Arcadia on our next potential trip (defo coming back to P&O) so just wondering what the background music is like. Buffet area, corridors, outside decks, lifts etc. Thanks :)
What time did the cruise leave and what time were you able to board from? Where was this cruise to?
from my own experience the ship departed at about 5pm, and we had allocated times to board
Did you pay for parking at the port and if so what website did you use to book it and how much was it?
We are going on the ventura in October & you can choose between free coach travel to the port or free parking at Southampton. You can also choose onboard credit instead but I can't remember what amount it is. We have chosen coach travel as its hassle free & we live not far from the pick up

Hi there not a bad video for yr 1st attempt.. Obviously it was short. But I don't think you done the choices of food on ventura. Any favours. There are lots of choices.The ship its self is amazing. We have been on twice and Iona.Which is enormous. With absolutely outstanding food.But we prefer Ventura. So much so we are booked on for my 60th next July.. Glad we have found more people to do videos of the ships..So keep it up.Hope to watch more from yous in the future..Thank you.Mick ,& Marla..

Me and my husband Marc will be starting our holiday's on the ventura ship from 5th to the 19th August 2023 Celebrating our Silver wedding anniversary on the 8th August 2023. We've never been on a cruise holiday before. People of stated you will either love it or hate it. I'm not very good travelling on the water but people have also stated that the ship is so big I won't feel the water. Is this true? Thank you for your great video around the Ventura ship,Dan 👌🏻 🛳
Thank you for that lovely comment, and to answer your question I was the same as you when going on, I wasn’t sure if it was for me, I can tell you honestly there’s times when you can feel it for sure, especially around the poolside, it was rocky for us, had to even hold onto the hand rails when going up the steps from the pool, but then I’d say 70% of the time you can’t feel it throughout your stay. In bars/restaurants especially, it just feels like you’re on land. I hope you have a great time and it’s a great way to celebrate such an occasion 😁👍 🛥️
P&O Ventura 10 nights cruise will stay in Lisbon for two days. Shall we check in a hotel for one night or return to ship after first day tour on shore ? Thanks
It all depends really how much you want to spend, it could make your holiday better to have a hotel but then you really get your moneys worth with the cruise if you don’t. It’s a tough one.

Good video. Are the food and drinks onboard free of charge, except in the specialty restaurants ? Do we have to pay for show and other activities ? Thanks.
Hello, thank you! :) All food apart from special restaurants are free pretty much, there’s a pool side grill which does burgers, chips, pizza and that’s really good and free, the buffet is free, but prepare to be stood in queues, as it does get very very busy with other people going up. Ice cream area is a special charge next to the poolside grill. Activities are all free, any singers, groups, theatres or cinema are all included. We had a drinks package so our drinks were included.

@@GoingWithDan One more question ~ Price for stateroom "without obstructed view" is more expensive than those of "obstructed view". Does the view obstruction really matter ? Do you think that we shall pay more for the "without obstructed view" ?
@@houli-zen7988 I would say yes it’s worth it, well it was for us.. but it all depends on you, how long will you spend there in the room etc. :)
Is there a bar near the adults only pool
Hi Thomas, Sadly there isn’t.. you have to walk up some small steps, across the sun bed area at the top (the area with the green flooring) down some more steps and then to the bar which is next to the outside pool. If you’re carrying drinks it’s not ideal but not too bad.
My first cruise in July. Got a suite on P&O Ventura for our honeymoon. Constantly looking for new videos and views of the ship and life on board. Good video mate

@@GoingWithDan No, we don't drink enough to make it cost effective. Our first cruise was on P&O's Iona last year and we found the drinks prices to be quite reasonable anyway
