I can only access 203.0.113.1:17008/update.html for about 10 seconds before it disconnects and connects again for another 10 seconds. No device WiFi signal can be detected. It does not show up on the router's assigned IP addresses. I'm trying a way for the device to abort the update.

I got the cable setup, and did the download. I tried to get to the 203.0.113.1:17008/update.html page. Never got to see "At the update screen, select “Choose File” It just was a blank screen. I'm so unhappy this speaker, while the sound is great - it has given me so many problems over the last 5 years. And the resolve is always way to technical for an average user - and I have no problem reflashing chips etc...

You did not show how to navigate from the front page to the page your showing. Bummer..

Hi friend, I followed everything as you mentioned and it uploaded the file and an error message came up saying “that didn’t work, try downloading the file again “ I retried few times but no luck. I’m using a MacBook. Could it be the reason behind this issue?

thanks very much, you have simplify the resolution of this problem in few minutes. i solved the problem with the connection directly on the WIFI of the Bose home speaker 500. i didn’t try it with any usb Connection. i think when you have this kind of bug, it comes from the Wifi of your home, perhaps for me it was because of a different passcode than before.

Thank you for this video. I am done with Bose, overpriced, over promise and absolutely no product support.

Tenia 4 horas o mas buscando, pense que ya habia valido queso, me encontre con este video, y al igual que muchos, el paso de encenderla y dejar presionado los botones - & AUX no hacia nada, pero luego de eso, la pagina que indica una IP para subir el archivo update, tampoco abria, me marcaba error, asi que intenté algo y me funcionó de 1.... Lo que hice fue conectar el cable microusb, encender la bocina y luego con la laptop me conecte al wifi de la bocina (Bose Home Speaker 500), aunque diga que esa red no tiene acceso a internet, le di click a la pagina para subir el archivo y si abrio🎉, luego lo subí y tardo como 10 min y se apagó y ya le pique al boton de bluetooth de la bocina y todo como si nada. Cabe destacar que esta bocina yo se la compre a 1 tercero, y supongo que el la tenia a su wifi y al yo agarrarla pues se desconfiguró por completo. Ojala les sirva de algo
