A great conversation! We are a generation that didn’t feel seen or heard and our authentic voices robbed. Our parents were ‘surviving’ to settle in so well done for them for doing that!!

I've seen this firsthand. There's a "shame" element. Like their "karam" caused this... or yes, if its gynaecological. But I saw with a cancer that was not "self-inflicted" and yet it was discouraged to speak of it

In the south asian community women are very much viewed as homemakers only, and men fear having to help out in the home so they don't want to acknowledge womens views. And totally agree a lot of mothers are the ones reinforcing this.

Very true. This is a topic we have discussed on another episode called "Me Vs The In Laws" on Apple/Spotify. As an organisation we want people to discuss topics which have a stigma, as it is very evident that it is common in the South Asian community, and no one is alone in their experiences. We are first generation here, and we have been lucky to enough to find a group of friends we can call family. And we make sure we meet every week, we cook together / cook for each other and it’s very informal. We pop in without plans, have seen dirty houses, helped clean up the houses , made them even messier sometimes 😂 The most important thing for me is that our kids don’t have siblings and they need each other to fall back on.

Do we call it "debating in the parliament" NOT AT ALL" the PM went on talking for 90 minutes & made them fed up & when he realise that the opposition are going to move, he began to start the talk of Manipur... Is this called "debating" ? Is this called caring ? The Speaker, on duty, should have strongly pinpointed this.. but he didn't...definitely he was one sided... No truth was proclaimed! It's a shame.. Journalists and reporters, please please "BE FOR THE PEOPLE", please don't take any sides of anyone.. you'll are making a big mistake and spoiling everything... NO ONE TO MONITOR YOU'LL
