I dont think so. But thats because "best at the game" is an ambiguous classification. The best no glitch 100% speedrunners can usually be the best at whatever task you set for them.

If you have Nintendo version, here's the hack. Uses electric beam on yellow demon and clone, when it hits, pause unpause, pause unpause. The game thinks you rehit, can sometimes win with 3 shots

wtf? The entire palace is glitched? And there's a way to navigate it? I'm amazed people would try to play a glitched game or try to make sense of it.

If I remember correctly of course my memory isn't exactly as sharp as it was once believe that trick was actually mentioned in the issue of Nintendo power where they covered super Mario world but I could be wrong though. In other words yes I have heard of that trick for a long time actually but I can't remember where that trick was first originally published

The Mega Man Clone (Or Copy Robot) also runs back and forth if you use the Magnet Beam let him back up to the corner quickly switch to FireMan's weapon fire at him and switch back to Magnet Beam,he'll take a hit but can't attack you.
