The good, the bad and the trash books of 2020
มุมมอง 3373 ปีที่แล้ว
Hi everyone! I realise it's January and you probably don't care anymore but here it is anyway: my 2020 reading year review (with stats). Like I said in the video, by "trash" I just mean that some of these books weren't for me but that doesn't mean they can't be for you. The authors obviously put lots of time and love into their books and a lot of people really like these so do check them out if...

Welcome to booktube 📚☕
I have never allowed the real lives of authors affect my reading of their words ... so many one would steer clear of if that affected ones choice ...
So cozy and turned out so good 👏👏
Great vibes! I love spooky season 👻
I very much enjoyed the architectural drawings of each storefront. Well done. You've done yourself a disservice to dismiss Irvine Welsh. He is the author of Trainspotting. This is a great video. Enjoyed Edinburgh through you. Thanks!

I'm a white WOMAN and I agree. Sometimes idealistic young people get it SO VERY wrong. White men are not the enemy, and men in general are not the enemy, either. Speaking strictly for me, I effing LOVE men.

Thanks so much for this video. I just realised i did not visit any bookshops when i was there in summer. They are beautiful.
Great Book Haul - thanks for the very interesting suggestions!

I've always wanted to do my reading bullet journal but due to overwhelmed ideas in my head, i didn't yet startibg it, i have a big problem of time finding and working plus i haven't this much big off English books wich is frustrating me to have not but frankly they are so expensive in my country and i can barely have some books yearly.

Very entertaining video
I loved this video so much!! I've been looking for some good Over the Garden Wall content and this was definitely it! Can't wait to hear more about the other prompts and the readathon too!
As a Dutch person, I have the same relationship with German as you have with Dutch ^^ I loved the video btw! The secret history is one of my fav books ever and I am always looking for people who get that it’s not the book that’s pretentious, it’s the people it describes!
Love After the End! Yessss :D I so rarely see Indigenous books on TH-cam

I detect perfidy in the management of the Amnesty Book Store. Who in the world organizes a book shop w/the book titles are all pointed away from the customer except someone who wants the book store to fail. I’ve never seen that anywhere in the world. Amnesty would sell many more books if they only turned them around, so you could read the titles. 😏
😍😍
Oh my gosh I love your rainbow shelf!! It’s so pretty!
I like how happy you are with those books you bought, and ur personality made me keep on watching honestly, because most book vlogs mostly bore me out at some point. And the editing too is meticulous and those bookshops you've been too i could already smell the booooks through the screen ahhh!! I love it, thanks for taking ur time making this vlog/video! <3

I’m 100% German (born & raised) 😊 ooh I’ll definitely have to make a German book recommendations video 😍
I would definitely join the readathon! Sounds like so much fun and readathons always help me read more! And ofcourse I added all these books to my ever expanding tbr 🙈

Thank youuu 😊 Wow that’s a lot of books on your TBR haha but YOU GOT THIS! Good luck
Hope you have a great reading month.
Also focusing on character another month. Wild, Earth Earthling from Irtheria. Which means I have to find a book featuring Elves or fey which I don't tend to read. So will be pushing my fantasy boundaries with this one, as I tend to read more classic adventure medieval world spinoffs or whimsical.
Very intrigued by the Brightonian's have added it to my list. (I bought the Deepest Breath on your recommendation it a previous video, read it in June and LOVED it. Have suggested it to a few people) Hope you enjoy Legendborn. I thought it was excellent. Very excited for the next book. Fabulous father rep, I love Bri's Dad. Thought the portrayal of how characters deal with grief was really well done. As was the normalised LGBTQ+ characters (written with no intro or explanation just - here they are being themselves and we don't need to discuss it.) Thought how racism was handled in different ways as a current social commentary and as part of history we need to acknowledge was beautifully done. On top of enjoying the story and characters too. I am also doing the magical readathon and am very excited. Doing Bookopoly too and rolling as I go so not sure of all my picks yet as I also want crossovers.
Yaaay I’m glad you enjoyed the Deepest Breath! And oooh now I’m even more excited to read Legendborn 😍 I was gonna do the Bookoplathon too but then I thought it would be too much 😂 Good luck with your readathons!

A great video, and had me reminiscing about Edinburgh. Thank you. My favourite book shop in Edinburgh was Till’s. It is on an old house and is so great to browse in. It is in the South Side overlooking the Meadows. It seems that new owners have taken over in 2019 and given it a much needed injection of life. Well worth a visit.
Yes, I wanted to go to Till’s but I didn’t have enough time in the end and I reeeally need to go the next time I’m in Edinburgh!
