Darren, I went through similar circumstances. I am not gay nor is my brother, but we had an alcoholic father who would beat our mother and sometimes us. And I was bullied in school, my brother in a different way, so know that it has nothing to do with you being gay. They just do a trial and error on everyone and who can't or won't defend themselves, that's their victim. Teachers, they are mostly assholes. Even in my case.

I was bullied really badly in high school and much later found out that I have autism. My parents were both alcoholics. People seem to bully anyone who is different or vulnerable. I’m happy that Darren wrote this book and shared his story.

I watched the ENTIRE TRIAL. They were not "snippets" i watched. The whole trial was available online live on youtube with no added commentary. You would be surprised by just how many people tuned in to that trial every day for all the 6 weeks. Many people were on to the lies told by Amber Heard. BY THE WAY - she did not win the "uk trial". The newspaper won it. I watched every minute of trial and followed up by reading all documents and reviewing all evidence publicly available afterwards. Amber Heard was not truthful in the least bit. The jury saw the same thing and let us know they saw she was a liar.

Ah, more young people were amused by tiktok clips of someone being falsely accused and having to fight and win by jury trial to prove that, than they were about a serious and depressing war that was taking place. Are we supposed to act shocked? Americans enjoy triggering themselves on twitter every day, the rest of the world does not. Also "whatever she didn't watch the trial, just clips" I watched every day of the trial and have the same personality disorder as Heard, the only difference is I went to therapy and took accountability for my abusive nature and learned everything about the symptoms unlike certain people, so I can speak to her behaviour better than this lawyer could. The jury who sat through the entire trial concluded her guilty of lying about being r-worded. Her former friends, partners, colleagues think she lied. Stop gaslighting us, years later.

I did watch the Whole trial There is no doubt in my mind that she lied and lied and lied. You try to turn the spotlight to tiktokers and social media creators But let's not forget this was a trial and what what went on inside the courtroom had nothing to do with social media The jury came up with a verdict after weeks of testimonies, evidence from both sides, cross examinations... They found her to be a liar. The UK trial was a whole different story It was against the Sun Amber was a witness, the judge decided to take her words as a gospel. Millions watched the Virginia trial Most of them reached the same conclusion the jury had found. Abuse has no gender

Big muscle guys should be made aware that anyone old enough to remember the AIDS crisis knows that it was gay men who started the health craze, and made working out in gyms common for anyone, not just actors or body builders. In fact, most of us old enough to remember STILL assume buff guys are gay until proven otherwise! And if a buff guy is NOT gay, our red flags spring up all over, warning us that toxic masculinity is quite likely afoot.

This is the perfect interview. PERFECT! I love the way you allow them to answer questions and give him time to think about his answers. You allow your guests time to be silent. You're soft and kind. You are genuinely interested in the questions and answers you're talking about. You don't force anything and allow the interview to flow so natural from one moment to the next. You never for one moment made the interview about yourself which VERY few podcasts do!! This may sound strange but I'm so proud of you! You're doing an amazing job. I've spoken to Darren a few times over the years and would class myself as a fan. He did miss out quite a bit about the Savage Garden break up though to protect himself. I've had the pleasure of speaking to Daniel Jones a number of times and there are always two sides of every story. Darren leaked the break up of the band to his reporter friend who then went on to report the break up before it was official. Sony had asked both Darren and Danial not to tell anyone until the end of the press tour / tour promoting Affirmation. Daniel did hold a meeting with the press where he was like "wtf, got no idea what you're on about guys" but he did not know that the leak come from Darren. Also Darren did not like the fact that Daniel worked on other projects while in Savage Garden. Daniel hated the music business and fame. He also hated touring. That is why be broke he Savage Garden. it is also worth noticing that it was Daniel started the band. Anyway I just wanted to say a massive thank you for this beautiful interview

Just a wonderful interview ❤ I follow Darren since 1997 when I heard I Want You for the first time...and I always followed his solo career.. I always thought he was a men with a big big heart and he's always been so emotional to me.. I knew he's been bullied and I knew about his family, his father and I always suffered for him...this interview is so precious for other people who are passing throug these feelings and this painful situations, and I feel so glad he's here in this world because he makes me feel that for every single bad person in the world who beats you and humuliate you, there is another one that's a good person, ready to support you, to love you, to keep you walking on..and therapy is so important to understand your feelings and events in your life, bad or good, are part of you and if you take them all and you accept them for what they really are, you'll be complete.. I love Darren so much, and I'm very proud of him..and I really appreciate that the interviewer listened to his answers with empathy and real emotion in her eyes...respect for all he passed through, and I'm really glad that he's still here to share his emotions with us, with his voice and his song too.. ❤❤❤

If a newbie was well liked by others they'd warn them about her. Someone to steer clear of in the workplace but customers loved her. He really had a hard time with the attention that lifestyle demanded, and the effort needed to keep the machine running as it were. Darren made a pact with the universe, that was what he wanted. It didn't seem like Daniel felt the same.

@@TimeIdle Rise to fame would shake any of us to the core. Those who can truly handle that are few and far between. That said, obviously there's no excuse for the way he threw Darren under the bus, that's inexcusable and I don't blame Darren one bit for closing that door forever. If Daniel had just told the truth in that press conference, who knows, maybe a reunion would still be on the cards. It's not like he didn't have over a year to plan out what he was going to tell the press. He made a calculated choice to lay the blame on Darren.

@@nickdemarco1932then why did Daniel stay in music; as he did? That's the lame excuse that was given away in the beginning, but it turned out not to be true.
