Lovely finds and clever alterations! When you cut the tier off the dress, did you save it? You could make a matching cravat, headband or even a little bag from it. I’m here via the Casa Magana channel, and I’ve subscribed.
@@JehanineMelmoth I did keep it! Those are great ideas!
Such a good trick with the shorts! I was doing this recently and got frustrated with the bunching so I’m gonna rip some stitches and try again!
@@yourethegoodthings what good timing!
❤
I loooovvee the gingham dress❤
@@kone.handmade me too!
Lol @ school teacher vibe😅
Yuk no with elastic waist jeans
the shorts hemming on a taper is GENIUS. thank you so much!!
@@crashofthemoons glad it helped! Hemming tapered garments is tricky!
I went to a church, yesterday. In its basement there is a thrift store. They give you a bag. You fill it to the top and you pay 4$. In an other side of the basement they have, what they call, The Boutique, where the best clothes have been selected, and there you pay the label price.
@@SoleildePerez that sounds amazing! I want to go 🤩
I want to help you in your business
I loved it <3
When I have gaping in a buttoned top, I sew it closed on the inside of the placket and make it a pullover. No pulling, no gaping.
That's a good idea! I didn't even think of that!
Those gingham shorts look so good and the dress length is perfect on you!
Thank you! That's kind 😄
I need a good sourdough starter recipe. Thank you.
I've got 2 dresses that bulge open and they fit me. One is actually a little bigger on me since I've lost weight but still gapes open at the bosom. I've been pinning that opening but now I'm going to see some snaps on there. Thank you for reminding me about little snaps. I've even got some in my craft room and did not think of using them.
That is so perfect!
I forgot to mention Plato’s Closet as a good option for making money back on gently used clothes ✨
I am bringing back the one in the one out rule! It’s a good rule but hard when you love to thrift 😂
@@Thecasamagana it’s so true! I know it will help me when making thrift purchases! It means I have to *really* want it if it’s going to replace an item in my closet.
Soooooo cute!!! I want to get into sewing. This looks fun
I'll share a tutorial for this dress soon!
Great video! Side note - do you ship out of state? lol
@@naomiendicott3792 ha! You know I would!
Love the 3 month box!! 🤩
Wow, I have never really thought about it! I just wear clothes that I think look good on me. I guess I like warmer colors!
You make altering my thrift finds seem much more approachable! And I had no idea about altering a tapered hem, that's great to know. Also I love the sweater vest on you, so cute!!
Loving the pink gingham shorts! Very entertaining video and...I have that same card of 'vintage' snaps but I purchased them new about 30 years ago!
@@lynnries7729 thank you! the snaps were 20 cents originally but I paid 0.50 for them at a thrift store. You got a good deal! 😆

Removing the bottom ruffle from the dress really transformed it.
@@KitKatUniverse agreed!!

Okay I love the flowy shirt that is definitely reversible - loved the buttons on the front instead of the back
Should I bring that one for you to borrow too? 😆
Love everything you found!
i love your finds and flips!
Thank you! I think my mom brought me good luck. It was a good haul! ;)
that person who cropped it all wonky was probably me 😅
@@helvyrah hahaha! I struggle to cut a straight line too, so I shouldn’t judge 😅
How can your mother get a senior discount when she’s only 45? 😂
🤣
Love the simple hacks to change up your finds!
Its so pretty ! I wanted to try to make a skirt like this for so long 😮 i was wondering if you had any idea how to adjust the measurements if i wanted to make it in 5 panels instead of 3, for the height i just have to divide it by five but for the length of each panel, how could i proceed so that it "enlarges" smoothly ? 🤔
Such a good question! Yes, you would divide your desired length by 5 tiers in height, then in width I would probably increase each tier to be .5 or .75 larger than the previous. So if tier one is 60", tier 2 is 90"-105" and so on. I doubled my widths, but you could half it or 3/4 it. Hope that makes sense!
@@Mindfulmae Thank you so much ! I'm gonna try this 😉
I make one like this but the top is from a cut jean pant them two rows of flares it was a lot of work I did not do it in a day but I got it done it came out nice the two flares are white
Save or share discard
@@mogirl7400 I try to use discard for crackers or pizza when I have time! I didn’t on this particular day I was making. 🥲 good idea to give it away though!
❤❤❤❤
Odd uncomfortable way of speaking. Please just speak to camera like you would a real person. Thank you. 👍
@@Rollwithit699 hi! I just bought a microphone so I can film myself sitting and talking instead of doing a voice over. It comes in 4 days and I can’t wait! ☺️ Thanks for the feedback!
Good video, but too much upspeak!
Sorry about that! I have never noticed myself talking that way, so it’s good to have it pointed out. I’ll be more attentive to it next time 😅
Cheers Mae🎉. I can say that I'm interested in most of the things you're in....sewing, thrifting, simplicity, gratitude, food(even though our meals will more than likely be different 😅). Happy to be here 🎉😊
@@kone.handmade hi! Thanks for being here! My meals look a lot different than most people’s. 😄 My husband is vegan so we eat plant based!
@@Mindfulmae oh vegan, that's great. Lol @ my meals look a lot different
I’m currently working on this jumpsuit. Your video is so helpful! Thank you 🥰
@@Atheyani amazing! I’m glad. That’s what it’s for 😋
I love the bowl covers! I would really like to start making sourdough - you make it look so easy! Great video !
Thank you! Sourdough is way less intimidating than I thought it was! 😅
You look so cute in that green gingham ❤️
Thank you! I am loving gingham lately!
Love! Great job👏🏼
Hi! Im in love with the way you made the skirt! I have about the same measurements as you but the fabric I have doesn’t cover even half the width needed for the last tier. Even if I get extra fabric (45 in width each) I barely make it! Any advice would be helpful!🥺🥺🥺
@@Butterfly_Princess264 hi! I’m not sure I fully understand. You’re able to get more fabric, but it’s still not enough? :) I know 240” is a lot 😅
@@Mindfulmae Yeah that's pretty much it. It's about four yards in length but 45 inches in width. With two, it would only be 84-90 inches combined. I really want it to be flowy but do you think I might have to cut the measurments in half?
@@Butterfly_Princess264 I think that’s your best bet to cut the amount in half. It would still be cute not as flowy! Sometimes I wish mine was less puffy. I love the look of a tiered skirt that sits a little closer to the body 🤗
@@Mindfulmae Thank you very much for your help!
I love how intentionally it all came together. Turned out so cute!!
@@naomiendicott3792 thank you! 🥹
I've been searching for a tutorial for this style for forever!! Im so excited 😍😍 tysm!
@@that.little.homemaker yay! I felt the same and that’s why I made it 😅
So curious about how you did the gather connections
Hi! Do you mean how each tier was added?
Cute. Love the color pallette.
LOVE this!! It turned out so cute!
This was so good to watch. I’m currently doing my sewing room too ❤
