Ryobi USB Lithium Inspection Light Kit (australian model review)
I use Ryobi One+ tools in my garage workshop. This was a very timely review as I considered whether it was worth buying a Shark, Vax or Dyson. Convinced - thanks.🤝
You forgot to assemble it.
The line snapped off then the video goes to you using it again. Wheres the bit on how you got the line out? I borrow one, week, under powered and only one line from the spool. Petrol Stihl trimmer is the best
Very informative, thanks. I have an industrial Honda 4 stroke trimmer, with harness. I used to live on property, but now in the suburbs, much smaller garden, and the Honda is well over the top, and heavy, just wanted to be sure this thing had enough guts to get through longer grass.
Glad it was helpful!
Excellent review. I was going to buy another model but your video definitely convinced me to buy this one. Thank you very much.
Also, with this line trimmer, instead of flipping the whole thing upside down when edging, you should be able to rotate the bottom half only and then hold the top half normally for when edging.
Have watched a few of your past videos (even some older ones). Awesome to see you picked up a new mic, good audio makes a huge difference!! :D Thanks for the reviews :)
Excellent review. Have you had any problems with static electricity build up on the hose or the switch. I have read that some people have been shocked turning it off.
Not in such a way, but the bucket of a vacuum has some static and likes to attract dust to itself.
Not better than Dyson...lol. Dyson vaccuums are tested in labs and built by engineers . The ryobi is built by black and decker or god knows who.
What is different between HP and non HP(R36LMW16)? $300 gap with it
Milwaukee M18 is a beast no doubt, but I still prefer a precision impact like makita
I agree, M18 is not really a tool for precise work, m12 would be more for that kinda job.
not as powerful as dyson V10 or V11, I have this vacume and a V11, Dyson is much powerful
Dyson v11 is also 2x the price of this one.
I find that Dyson isnt really designed for bigger things on the floor. Good suction but you might end up having go sweep after
Thank you for the great review :) 😃
Thank you for watching my video😀
I have a ryobi orbital sander and I finally got not this model but the corded Bosch model… I must say I been living under a rock lol
Yer there is a bit of a performance difference there🤣
Thank you so much! First time line trimmer owner here. This helped so much! 🎉
Thanks for watching my videos bud😀 welcome to the biggest addiction😅
Eats through 4amp batteries. Had half a metal roof to wash, went through about 8 batteries before I mainly finished it. Luckily I have a few with spare chargers so changed often as they drain fast. Even washing the car I went through new fully charged battery.Wish I got the 36v model instead.
36v would not be much different. This is not intended for such a big job, it is for small 5-10 min jobs and it does it perfectly.
Great review mate.
Thanks mate
Thank you my friend. Could not find this little handy trick in any manual. 🙏
Happy that you find my video helpfull
Odakle su tvoji?
Nice video thank you, it helped me decide. Side note: careful with the clearing of the nose by inhaling on video.
I know, apologies for that, sometimes hayfever gets me bad. On the other hand, i am happy i helped you decide, hope the purchase was worth it
$800 !!! ouch
Yap, it does feel like that, we have gone from $250-300 victa to $800-900 mowers in short amount of time.
@@Nedstooltalk yes but also take into account , with petrol mowers = more maintenance , fuel . spark plugs , carby repairs etc , this mower is a real powerhouse and almost 0 Maintenance. i've used petrol mowers for 30 + years, fuck petrol mowers now.
Thanks for the upload!
It’s a nice kit that I nearly picked up but ended up going with the carbon shaft model, R36XLTR34. It’s got a more efficient, more powerful brushless motor. Also comes with a harness and 4amp fast charger
Thank you Ned, I couldn’t find any videos how to put it together. Clearly explained.
My pleasure, happy to help😀
It looks like an ideal tool to wash airconditioners given it's low psi
Good point
About halfway through the spool, the line keeps breaking from the inlet, why does that happen?
Either to thick line and under preassure or bad quality of line. I have the sane issue with saxon brand lines.
How does this unit cope with weeds and crabgrass ? My old petrol snipper handles them well but is no longer working because the carb has no adjustment and the mixture has needed changing as it got older. I already have a Ryobi 18v+ battery so an 18v snipper would be the most convenient but I'm open to the 36V. My only experience with an electric whipper snipper is several years ago and it was too weak to cut through ahything but light grass.
All depands on size of battery, min 4ah battery and there should be no major issues with cutting. If you have loads of tall and thick weeds then i would probably go 36v, its just got more power when you need it. But for 80% of domestic maintanance 18v whisper trimm will do just fine.
@@Nedstooltalk Thanks
Thanks for this video.
Mine must be defective! One the glue Jair runs out when it’s in the stand and I can not push it out with one hand.
It probably is, you should be able to push it with no much force (my kids use it for art)
Love always your product review on Ryobi do you instragam page
Thanks, i dont have instagram, trying to keep things simple with informative videos 😀
Keep up the great reviews - liking the content.
Thank you very much
Mate I love your Ryobi reviews keep it up from John in the Central Coast NSW
Hi John, thank you for your kind words. Plenty more videos to come
I've got the 18V which is a struggle with longer grass and huge lawns, but there's a whole eco system of 18V devices all using the same batteries and charger - edge trimmer, drills, router, glue-gun, torch, lantern, fan, vacuum cleaner.. Once you're in, you're in, and its not too bad to be honest. The bigger 8Ahr battery was a game changer with the mower though.
Yer look i dont recomend 18v mower to anyone with big yard or thick and long grass, it does it but you wont enjoy the process, 36v is the way to go, it is a big difference in power and maybe most important thing is that mowing wont be a chore, it becomes a matter or let me grab a beer and mow my lawn😁
Where can I buy the 5” backing plate with the holes
Wax it car care, they have website
Has anyone else seen this tool disappear from bunnings over here in Oz? Still seems to be available in the US. Lucky I bought a second one!
You are right, i just checked on powerpass its not there.
Did you keep it?
Its gone back to bunnings
@@Nedstooltalk oh no why? I was planning on getting one after your review! Which mower are you buying?
@karthikas5253 i wont be buying a reel mower as good ones are over $1000 and my lawn is bot suitable for that mower. Ozito i returned because it could not be adjusted right and to be honest entire mower casing is plastic with a steel cytting wheel. You cant mount steel cutter on plastic frame and expect it to be good😀 thats why i returned
@@Nedstooltalk thanks I’m planning on getting one for rift if as I was told reel mowers are best. What grass did you have? I can’t afford a good quality reel mower
@karthikas5253 Won't beat for the price, this type of mower may require adjustment to the cutting wheel to get it cutting correctly. Look up on YT there is a video how to do it. Total for this mower would be about $300 because you need to buy a battery seperate. It has a 5 year replacement warranty so just keep your receipt😊 Otherwise you are looking at the battery mowers that start at $399 which are bigger eg ryobi.
Very weak, it can't even handle 150W, not even 120W. And it's very expensive. I just bought one, and I deeply regret it. I don't recommend it to anyone. For its price, you can buy a better inverter, and power bank.
Very good review mate👍🏿
It would be great if Bunnings would have these on display on the floor so that we can get a feel of what they are like weight wise to push around.
It would bot be acurate anyways, as in bunnings you are pushing on polished concrete vs a lawn at home. They all push nice on concrete😀
@@Nedstooltalk I was more concerned with their weigh when pushing. Even on concrete it would be easy enough to compare each mowers weight/ ease of pushing against each other.
@tassie7325 this one is 27 kg, vs 22 for non self propelled one. If you put 2 x 6ah batteries you are 30ish kg
@@Nedstooltalk That's getting up into the weight realm of my petrol self propelled mower, which is easy to push when not powered. One of the reasons I was looking to replace the petrol mower was to reduce the weight and it seems that there is very little to no advantage to be gained with this mower while losing a lot of power advantage that the petrol mower provides, including its ability to deal with damp grass. Thanks for your honest and informative review. I think it is going to save me what could have been a very expensive but disappointing outlay.
3:40 Is it really as hard to push as it looked at this point? If so it must be very awkward to use in tight spots when it needs to be pushed back and forth
100%, this model is a bit of a pain to push, thats why i use self propelled function always. If you but that same mower without self propelled option it is a lot easier to push. Video on that one coming out in next few weeks also.
@@Nedstooltalk Thanks
Great review and made me go and buy one!
Happy that i was able to help in making a decision.😀
For once I want to see someone try to use an air hammer or even an impact wrench on one of these. If it could handle 100 lbs/ft lugs it could probably run an air hammer and provide a very useful option for Mobil mechanics.
No chance it will run it, small 2hp compressors cannot keep up with those tools let alone this unit. This is for cleaning vacuums, dusting off surface or similar.
Always use an overpowered mower. More likely to get a clean cut on the individual grass blades as you're going. The 18v gets bogged down and at time feels like it has to rip to survive rather than clean fresh gliding cuts. I currently have the 18v and it's useless on slightly thick grass. I will upgrade to the 36v in time.
100% agree here. You will notice big power difference going from 18 to 36v. Just make sure you get these new 36v mowers.
That tall grass you showed, I believe it’s some kind of weed. I have (had) the same weed grass distributed in my grass and I have the same mower. My mower did the same, BUT I actually found it to be a good thing because that weed has now died off completely! Seems to me that this mower kind of damaged the blade of that weed grass so much, but just didn’t cut it, enough that maybe it killed the weed off. That’s all I can think of because now my weed grass is gone 😂. I agree the mower feels cheap, HOWEVER, it actually makes a pretty amazing cut. It is perfect for small-medium lawns. Honestly, I think it’s a great mower. I just don’t like emptying the basket catcher. It doesn’t hold enough volume and effectively has 3 fixing points you need to unclog and then re-clip. It’s just a bit awkward. But a great mower in my opinion.
How come you didn't bring your battery for the display
Nice one. 379, is that a special price? Could you review the blower as well? Thanks.
Hi, yer that is the price at a moment, soon they will remove it off the shelf as it is a promo. Blower review coming next sunday👍, but i can tell you right now if you are considering getting this set, buy it, you wont regret. Blower is awesome
Yes, I did get one, and quite happy with it. The blower blew my mind away 😊
I got a 36v ryobi mower. Should i get a 36v line trimmer too (skin only) or go for the cheaper 18v one (kit with battery)? Just wanna check if the 18v trimmer is powerful enough - i have just a 70-80sqm backyard and just 10m block wide nature strips.
You can get any of them, they will beth have enought power. 36v will be easier to use since you got 36v mower and you can use same battery for outdoor stuff.
@Nedstooltalk thanks. And I have no idea about differences between 28/33cm and 33/38cm or a 40cm. Can you pls advise?
Also, do the various Ah rating 36v batteries work on all the 36v tools? There's 2Ah, 4Ah, 5Ah
@vinayshsureshram277 thats is the length of line that will be out of the head of a trimmer. 28-33 is on small side 33-38 is standard and 40cm plus is quite large
@vinayshsureshram277 they will all work, just 6ah and up are high output batteries and will give brushless tools more power. To all other tools longer runtime only with bigger battery
Good work, nice review
Great vid and 100% agree. So many modern engines use hard plastics that are fragile, and prone to damage from higher powered ratchets.
Try using that in some heavy thicker grass lmao
This grass was 30cm and wet in places....went trought it like a champ👍
