Hellhouse LLC Box from Umbrella is undoubtedly in contention for best piece of physical media 2024
Howdy peeps, horror fans and physical media collectors! Boy oh boy does this box set slap. I've finally done my deep dive into the farthest recesses of The Abaddon Hotel and I'm not exactly sure I made it out alive. The Hell House LLC collection release from Umbrella Entertainment is a work of art, a masterpiece that deserves all the love and is in the conversation for best piece of physical media this year. Bar none. I've had such a blast with this set and reading the hard bound book, etc. Did I mention the packaging is simply gorgeous with a lenticular slip cover? How many other box sets get a lenticular slip? Anywho, hit that like button and subscribe to the channel, peeps! Much love!

Horror? Thriller? Or simply movie of the year? My thoughts on this wild ride of a late 2023 movie.

Howdy peeps, horror fans and physical media collectors! My Vinegar Syndrome Black Friday package arrived with massive amounts of goodies. Among those is this outrageously beautiful horror/thriller/true crime movie Red Rooms. It's poetic, symbolic and feels as if every moment matters. Masterfully done. Now, this movie was pitched to me by several in my close circle as "Movie of the year." No lie...
THIS is why I love Vinegar Syndrome. Continuously dropping oddities/obscenities like this wild ride.

Frankie Freako-The spiritual successor to Psycho Goreman. Completely over the top good or cringey?

Howdy peeps, horror fans and physical media collectors. Today's review is about a movie I've been salivating to get my hands on. I picked this one up during Scream Factory's Black Friday sale and dove in last night. This movie.....is something. It's hard to not compare it to Psycho Goreman because of the gem that PG was, but ultimately Freako doesn't live up to the hype of it's predecessor. Han...

Imprint is Australian, a totally different market to Second Sight,
Yeahh, for sure! Haha messup on this video. Appreciate that info and for checking out my video brother🤘🏻
If you have never seen it another older film from Artsploitation called THE TREATMENT based on a detective book series is also very haunting.
Found it a bit meh tbh
Haha, I hear you dude! I think it was slow rolling and it's artistic style never "wowed" me per se. But I really enjoyed it wholistically and I did a deep diver after of research and learning more about the film and it made me appreciate it even more. I totally get that though🤘🏻. Thanks for checkin out my video, dude.
Films are very subjective, the Ben Wheatley stuff here in Uk divides audiences for example, though I do like directors to be daring and think outside the box, a lot of films leave us the viewer to interprirtate the ending for ourselves, I loved The Trap btw from M Knight though many have slated it, his magnus opus has to be Sixth Sense, for me its a masterpiece and I never saw the reveal coming.s@MylesofHorror
I really want to grab this set still. Also, I agree with you on the Goosebumps Disney series being ass. I am a big Justin Long fan though, so that was a redeeming factor for me.
Haha dudeee, this set is so bangin fr lol. It's incredible.
I’m a big fan of foreign horror. I need to check this one out!
Dude it was a pretty wild movie lol. Definitely check it out.
Awesome box set I agree one of the best sets this year first time watch for 2-4 and wow - Hell House LLC Origins: The Carmichael Manor was sooooooo good it’s my favorite after the first but really enjoyed all of the movies in this set.
Duddee, Origins is the only one I haven't watched yet lol. I hear it's fantastic. Maybe I'll watch that tomorrow. Thanks for watchin as always brotha! I also gotta check out Goodbar lol
Society is such an AMAZING and fun film.
Duddee, it's so good😂. One of the movies that really made me fall in love with body horror🤘🏻
@ i actually hadn’t seen it till maybe 2 years ago but had always heard of it and when I finally seeked it out it blew my mind! My mom got me into horror at a VERY young age and I’ll always be thankful that she did! I remember her showing me alien and aliens at like 6 and we saw Jurassic park in theaters when I was 9. Blew my mind. But for me most of all was critters and killer klowns, i rented those as a kid countless times haha
I preordered the ultimate. If I don't get lucky maybe I'll flip the bobble for those that might have regretted not going for it.
Haha hell yeahhh, dude! That rocks. I haven't ordered mine yet, but like I said I'm gonna grab that 80.00 just the box edition. Thanks for watching, dude!🤘🏻
Those tapes are so sick man!
Dude, legit all time grail pieces lol. Really feels like a moment frozen in time at the tape store.
Scary
I'm also a VS subscriber. We watched 'Carnage For Christmas' yesterday. Very solid for a low budget Aussie Christmas slasher. The characters were very likeable. Will watch 'Satranic Panic' on the same disc later. We also watched 'Adult Swim's Yule Log, and I was blown away! It's my type of weird. 'The Keep' and 'Sliver' were awesome! 'Waiting For Mr Goodbar', I will have to revisit. I still need to watch my 'Congo' VSU and 'Cannibal The Musical', though both were staples of my VHS youth. Great video! Great haul!
Dudeee hell yeahhh, appreciate the kind words and thanks for checkin out my channel🤘🏻! How long you been subscribing, dude? Would love to hear more thoughts on it lol. I really do cherish it, but it's not the gem it used to be. Anywho, thanks for filling me in on those titles you got from the haul, now I'm super pumped for them. I checked out Black Eyed Susan last night and I dugggg it lol. It was a perfect VS experimental title lol🤙🏻
This makes me so hyped to get my package!
I'm watching Black Eyed Susan as we speak, it's kinda bananas lol. Excited to see what you got, brother!
Dude honestly they might be the goat. I don’t have near as many release from them as you do but what I do have I love! I want that Dawn of the Dead release so bad. I’m definitely going to shell out the money for that eventually.
@@shinigamijingle Dude, they have been straight crushingggg it lol. TCM4k, Blair Witch and Dawn of the Dead arguably three greatest releases all time lol. And they have a massive catalogue at this point, straight killing it🤙🏻
Great video! Glad the algorithum brought me to your channel, I'll have to check out more videos
Eyyy, I really appreciate that dude! Thank you kindly brother! For sure, check em out and rock on🤘🏻
I agree with you on just getting the deluxe edition box set. I never win contests so the extra money doesn’t warrant that and the bobble head for me. This is one of my favorite films of all time man. I just hope that Arrow UK doesn’t drop a 4k preorder next week haha.
Hahah you know it's gonna drop from Arrow any day😂. Now you've got me torn for sure. But this set looks bangin no matter how you slice it. Maybe it will pay to be patient.
I love that you’re a coheed fan! I’ve been wanting to check this movie out.
Haha duddeee, this director has to be a Coheed fan. Zero percent chance he's not.
I absolutely love this movie! I can’t wait to get my 4k haha. Sick video bro!
Haha, thanks brotherrr mannn!! I had so much fun re-visiting this gem😂. It really is a classic c
No spiders for me hehe 😅 but wonderful review! 🫶💛✨
I kind of feel the same way you did.
I realllyyy wanted to like it, but it just fell very flat for me lol. The payoff was almost non-existent. Characters were subpar and it felt very jumbled. Never really hit a stride.
Josh Hartnett was my God! 1998 was one of THE BEST times in horror for me toooo!! the cast.. the soundtrack…the epic scenes of this movie…&&& there are some banging one liners too lol Love your shirt Robbie 😍 Great video this was so fun one of my favorite movies to exist 🖤 I’d love to see a video of a list of nostalgic movies that are your favorites
Gotta look into this one. Sounds like a lot of fun!
Your shirt is so sick!!! Stranger Things & Mario!? 😍😍😍
It's such a fun shirtttt😂🫶🏻❤️🖤
I’ve seen this movie on streaming for years and I’ve never watched it I’ll check it out.
Dude, definitely check it out lol. I'm still shocked it's eluded me all these years, so much fun🤘🏻
Go in with very low expectations on Shock Waves
Hahah, will do. Appreciate the heads up, rock on🤘🏻
Dude I loved May. I need to grab that second sight release when it comes back in stock.
Duddeee, so good! lol. I really really loved it. I don't know how this one snuck by me.
Always look forward to your struggle when you open boxes on camera 🤣🤣 this is so badass!!!
Hahaha, it was a massive box😂. Very problematic🫶🏻
Always fun giving some good horror recs!
I need to check this one out. It sounds super interesting.
It's superrr coolll dude. I dug it alot🤘🏻
I remember this and it was definitely a movie
Hahah, it sure was a movie. Did you see it in the theaters?! I really liked it lol, I think it aged well.
He was born in 86 I was smoking weed and spray painting glad he liked it 80s will always rule u gotta born in the 80s to really understand it am still there lol rock on 🤘🤘🤘
Yesss was waiting for Hocus Pocus 👏 I also am obsessed with Gremlins too! Scream was my gateway horror movie I watched it for the first time when I was 8 or 9. I kept watching it over & over everyday too! Loved the video guys 🙌😌
Thanks for the love as alwayssss, Bop. Scream was MOST DEFINITELY a gateway for me too lol. I totally watched it everryyy single day one summer😂🫶🏻🖤
I was 13 when it came out, watched the doc they made for the movie so already knew the background of the witch and children plus rustin par. I 100% thought it was real for about a year or two. It scared the crap outta me. I love every way they filmed it….the cameras they used, no hollywood sound effects, zero jump scares (which isn’t horror) and the 2016 Blair witch was jump scare infested. Also like how they filmed it in the fall…makes it look better. The 2016 movie they’re walking on a trail with like mulch on it….looked so fake and all the green made it less scary. I’m the one who pitched the plot to Artisan for the 2016 movie. Pitched to have a family member and friends go out looking for one of the three from first movie. But didn’t add that it would stay dark or have 10,000 jump scares. Actors were horrible in the last movie also.
Oh wow, thanks for watching the video man! And totally agree, I thought the same exact thing about BWP. At that time, as a kid I simply didn't know any better. It "was" real to me and I think that feeling never really goes away. So for me, that is just special ya know? So cool you pitched 2016! For whatever it means, I happened to have loved that one🤣. Appreciate you watching, dude
I have a couple thousand movies on VHS, DVD, Blu-Ray and 4K. If it's something I have nostalgia for from the old video rental store days, I have to have it on VHS and I watch it on a CRT. The art is also usually way cooler and displays great like you said. And if it's a favorite, then I also usually get the Blu-Ray or 4K because I like to have the option to watch it on my home theater setup with amazing picture and sound. Horror is interesting because some tapes are very expensive and in those cases a Blu-Ray or 4K just makes more sense. It's all good and I love collecting physical media! The biggest problem is always needing to find more space for your growing collection.
Oh goshhh, space is becoming a massive problem🤣. Especially with a growing VHS collection. I totally agree with you dude, and I'm definitely double dipping more and more as I get more titles in.
If I'm going to go this route I'd rather just get DVDs instead because I won't have to get a VHS player and an HDMI adapter. Also don't want to rewind before putting it away.
Haha, I feel you man for sure. For whatever reason, DVD is my least favorite format. I think I think the opposite where as if I'm watching digitally, I'm going to just go blu ray, if and when possible. VHS has a different vibe for me, and hits better.
Damn bro way to knock out a bunch of grails in one fell swoop!
Dude! I’m also a teacher and I’m a union leader at my school. I live in Hawaii. I’m originally from Jersey. It’s cool to connect with other fellow teachers who are also horror fans.
Hell yeah dude! That's what's up! I'm so curious how teaching's like over there. Appreciate the love, brother!🤘
Wow the gate 2 shipped fast they told me a week lol enjoy ! Love the artwork on that one. Great haul on here too.
Thanks, dude! Tape is awesome😃
So...Your 3 reasons are 1)price 2)availability 3)box ? Kinda underwhelming. You could say something more substantial like: fullscreen aspect feels more authentic for 80s horror, or that blurriness and lack of detail makes special effects look less fake.
I appreciate the input and thanks for watching! Definitely noted for future videos🤘I'm still a noob to VHS collecting, so finding my footing. So many new thoughts and ideas daily lol.
Hello there good video, what film is on the right of you with mouth open on front cover?
Hey Nick, thanks for the good vibes and watching the channel! That is the big box edition of Tourist Trap directly from Full Moon!
@@MylesofHorror Thank you for the reply!
I'll say this, there's a lot of horror films that have a certain appeal when it comes to VHS, and the top of the list is the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre, to me it adds to how creepy that film is, and I feel the same way about Halloween and pretty much all films from the 80s, but I also appreciate having a surpirrior disc option with 4K if I'm in the mood to watch such a film, and yes, of course, it is amazing seeing these films in 4K because most of the time, they look so gorgeous but my main reason is because some of these films are very expensive to try to track down on VHS that I don't always like pulling them off the shelf out of risking any kind of mishap. Dont get me wrong, I do watch my expensive tapes, but it is nice having a good disk to pop in when I get the itch.
Dude, very well said. I didn't even think about the movies that may indeed be out on 4K, but the VHS is outrageously pricy and rare and hard to track down. Really good call. And I'm with you dude, I loveee going back and watching some of those mid to late 70's and 80's horror movies on VHS. There's such a charm to it all. I think my biggest point is that there is so much being put out on 4k these days that quite simply is cool, but for me wholly unnecessary if I have it on VHS or another format already. Especially when it comes to cheaper options like The Convent. Thanks for watching, dude🤙🏻
@MylesofHorror yeah, I'm not a 4K purist, there's a lot that I'm happy with having a dvd or a blu ray of, that said though, there's nothing like pulling a tape off the shelf and hearing all the noises of the VCR and holding the case in your hand.
I almost bought this on eBay the other day lol. Trying to hold out for a 4k set though. I’ve only seen the first one😱.
Hahaha, dude we are literally one. Starting to think if I took some Activator substance, you'd be what came out of me. Yeahh, I'm holding out hope too for suree🤘🏻. If they did a box, I'd get it in a heart beat.
So many sick pick ups dude. The majority of those are insanely clean! S Tier haul!
Huge fan of Sammy’s earlier albums 😂
I need to check this one out. Probably going to try and grab that bluray!
First ❤
Haha, definitely agree! I was so pleasantly surprised by this movie. So much fun!
I was 31 when this movie came out and we got stuck in the second row I felt nauseous and my neck was killing me because it was nearly sold out
Very cool! 🤘🏻
They are so super sweet!😁
Man those are so sick! I need to quit sleeping on those custom tapes.
Dude so sweet lol. I want them all😆
That cover art is beyond amazing! Will definitely need to check out more from Death by VHS...
Duddee, legitimately beautiful lol. Definitely go check him out!🤘🏻
Lots of great movies from 99 in that list man lol
Haha yeah, mannn. I've thought more about it and definitely some solid titles😂. But overall a down year comparably.
@MylesofHorror great video. My copy is still on the way from Diabolik. Apparently, the standard editions came in late! Looking forward to watching Curse then the festival cut.
@@TheNickSweat Appreciate that, man. Thank you! You gotta let me know what you think when you watch the festival cut, it was really special for me. And thanks for watchin, dude!🤘🏻
