my school’s dance team has a different outfit that is insanely glittery (all of it is glitter.) and our cheerleaders are just the standard uniform for cheerleading. i also think the pom poms are different, cheer has a mix of all of the school colors and the dance idk if they have any..

Me personally I think these girls look like cheerleaders. They’re being sharp with their movements and the only thing that makes them stand out is the dresses instead of the shell and skirt. At my school we wear different costumes. We dance at rallies, basketball, and lacrosse games. We use poms but instead we’re doing dance routines and are more fluid. Cheerleaders are more sharp. In my opinion I think dance is cooler because we have more moves and do different tricks. I also might just be biased because our cheer team isn’t the best and because I’m on the dance team. Cheerleaders are also there for a different reason. Cheer is to pump up the crowd. Dance is to express a certain emotion to the crowd besides just being pumped up and excited.

This is not how it was when I was on drill team and I graduated 2018. I think both are very skilled groups, but there are definitely differences. There’s no reason to hate on either.

Coming from a cheer and dance perspective, people won’t know the difference. I did both and those movements are stiff and together like cheer, while as dance you’re a bit more flowy and relaxed. It was a weird transition of sports at first because my turns were like a dancers but those movements are more like cheer than dance Also, you’re using pom poms of course people are gonna think it’s cheer

The wildest thing to me was that our HS cheerleaders and dance squad were so different. Like the dance squad was so much more talented than our cheerleaders (still very talented), and they were also so much nicer and humble

I hate competition landing. Put your kids in a REAL ballet school and they will be better trained to then go into other forms of dance. Look at real professional dance companies…they don’t dance like competition dancers.
