Currently the files are loaded in alpha-numeric order based on the filename. So, for example, files labelled with a angle from "..000" to "...180" deg will load in order and can be mirrored on the plot. However this doesn't work for sets with both negative and positive angles, and we are currently working on some alternative loading schemes, including using the file labelling scheme from Klippel systems.

In version 4.2 we have a Pascal IIR mode so that IIR EQ created in FIR Designer can be matched in Pascal processors. Currently, IIR filter settings need to be manually copied and entered into Pascal control software or the Pascal web UI. With FIR filters, Pascal supports loading of coefficients from CSV or TXT files, as a column of text. FIR Designer can export these formats.

There are no auditory drawbacks. There might be some subtle differences. For example auditionDSP uses state-space IIR biquads which have lower noise than more common IIR implementations in many hardware DSP's, particularly for filters at low frequencies - e.g. subwoofer filtering. Also, a hardware DSP may have different quality AD/DA converters than your audio interface (with auditionDSP).

It's not pink noise. It's M-Noise or Music Noise originally made by Meyer Sound and now integral to the AES75-2023 loudspeaker measurement standard. (It has a distinctive cracking sound.) Our free software "SpeakerMeasure" uses this signal and automates much of the AES75 procedure.

Our software can push settings to Lake FIR modules, but the Lake FIR modules can't be loaded into Contour units. (The Contours were discontinued many years ago and require older v5 versions of the Lake Controller.)

You can export filters for many FIR capable amps and processors in many different file formats. The Lake DTP dialog provides network communication to the Lake Controller. The Powersoft DTP dialog provides specific XML file export for Powersoft amplifiers.
